I like to think of this fight as less of a punishment for clover's sins and more of a clash of ideals. Clover seeks to bring the monsterkind to justice and Martlet , knowing that the monsters are the victims in the current situation acts like the judge and the executioner for Clover. They're both willing to die for their cause
The idea of punishment for sins and "ITZ AL UOR FUALT!!!1!1!" is overused in general. Was burping when some bluds were calling snowgrave Spamton Neo a hero who judges you.
@@Oleja2008 why would he be the hero? He's the one who gave us the ring. I forgot hoe the route goes, but i guess he did that to get the neo body. So he's more of a selfish manipulator
*A worthy opponent. *A moment of remembrance is taken… *The zenith of Monsterkind. *The enemy prepares to attack. *The enemy’s defense can be destroyed. *The enemy will know justice. *The enemy tries to persist. *The enemy can’t last forever. *The enemy gazes onward. *The enemy grows weaker.
It was super funny to me at first because I thought martlet was holding a screwdriver (I hadn’t played neutral yet) and started laughing at her thinking “What could possibly go wrong?” Turns out, two weeks of excruciating pain followed suit.
Yeah... The first time i was forced to do a fake pacifist route, where i kill ceroba for all the problems she gave me in the past, then the gaynocide route, this time i truly defeated martlet ... After 6 days.
Martlet- whether the fight continued or not- would have melted. Similar to Undyne, DT can only work temporarily for monsters. Once her shield was destroyed, she was basically dead.
@@tierdokuparodien8460 I think on Undyne's case she was stable because determination came to her naturally, she only started melting when her HP became 0 unlike the other amalgamates and Martlet who started melting after some time.
@@tierdokuparodien8460Martlet dies no matter what after phase 2, the chestplate she has seems to keep her form stable in phase 1 so naturally after Clover breaks it she starts melting.
idk why but i just imagine Clover doing Dark Souls rolls on Zenith Martlet while she spews her feather explosions everywhere and just using s to tank every shit
This sequence was so dope when i first saw it, at first i thought she just wasn't going all out the first time and then she pulls out some kind of syringe and then this. Insanity.
its cool because the syringe is even mentioned in the neutral route depending on your actions. she says sum along the lines of "i wouldve had to use this in case of an emergency" then pulls it out and throws it into the depths of the core
@@solarenity yeah, based on the amount of LV you have, she says a series of things about you, and if you have enough LV or higher that isn't full geno, she tosses the syringe out, worst mistake of her life btw (flowey moment)
I love the little detail that martlet's eyes are yellow, giving the idea that she is looking out for real JUSTICE now edit 21/03/24: holy fuck I didn't knew it got that many likes
I mean they’re completely different fights zenith marlet is just a really difficult fight with a few new machanics sans straight up makes most of your moves useless you’re armor and your weapon don’t matter the he just dodges if you fight act taunts you with the easiest enemy and the menu isn’t even a safe place anymore I still think sans is better but zenith marlet is extremely good
@@bigman2366 eh, feels more boring to me, cool at first, but still kinda meh, at least martlet looks powerful, sans is powerful just because. Besides zenith martlet also still messes with the UI like locking the fight option in the first half and then messing with the direction of the soul in the 2nd half
The idea of using determination as a form of like adrenaline shot is a great idea…. Hmm, maybe the reason they melt is the adrenaline is too much combined with the determination, so both kinda like eats up their magic and basically sucks the life out of them, but with martlet, the chest plate might be a form of like stability device, she depends on that device to keep herself together, would love to see someone draw the internal system that works inside that chest plate, cause it’s gotta be some strong shit.
Considering that syringe is likely full of what DT the Integrity soul had, that chest plate could easily represent Zenith Martlet’s Integrity in a literal sense as she melts after it is shattered.
Retribution: Martlet is taking revenge for those whom Clover killed Clover takes revenge for 5 human souls and takes revenge on the monsters who tried to kill him
At first I just sayed, "WHAT????, RETRIBUTION????? HUH, WHAT IS THIS BIRD COOKING WITH?" Anyway, second phase huh? It took me even more than the first phase for some reason, still, great final boss, and the Flowey thing... Well, I like to shoot at the flowers.
Flowey at the end of the video: Great. That's JUST great. Do you know how much attention this will bring on us?! The entiere Underground is going to put up its defenses! I'm sure the castle is on full lockdown thanks to your recklessness! No... This won't do. You're gonna make this right, got that? You may have a "shiny ability" but that doesn't change a thing! Go to the castle and smash its walls down! Tear it apart!! Do whatever it takes to get me my SOULs!!! To... Hey now... I meant "your SOULs." you know that? You idiot what do you think you're doing?! (File 1 Overwritten) Fine! Looks like this is another dead end. (Load Failed)
Flowey: What is this? What's going on?! You little-! You're going to put a knife in MY back!? I'm the only reason you ever made it out of the Ruins! Your best friend! Your only friend! Well you know what? I've never been above betrayals either! (Clover spams loading file, while the Friendliness Pellets, and vines attacks keep disappearing from the loading, and prevent Flowey to flee.)
@@redchannel3220Flowey: ... Ha ha... HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! I HATE YOU. Every second that passes with you is more miserable than the last. And it's always been that way. The only time I enjoyed myself is when I got to watch you die. Hundreds of deaths. Endlessly gruesome. Endlessly satisfying. When I look at you, I don't see a "brave hero" or whatever you pretend to be. All I see are those beloved memories. Replaying over, and over, and over, and over... And you want to know the best part? Even if you kill me, I know how this ends. There's never been any escaping it. That castle may aswell be a coffin because you're already dead. Ha ha! You hear that?? YOU'RE DEAD! HA HA HA ! ! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! ! ! ! ! *flowey laughs, as clover shoots him several times with friendliness pellets, and knocks him dead.*
I have two sides: 1) Trying to free the underground from Flowey, no matter how many lives I will have to take. Even if they won't listen, if the won't understand... 2) Peak blu birb
I just realized Undertale: Pacifist: male final boss (asriel) Neutral: flowey Genocide: male final boss (sans) Undertale yellow: Pacifist: female final boss (ceroba) Neutral: flowey Genocide: female final boss (martlet) Was it on purpose? We will never know
If Ceroba is supposed to function as the Undying (as she is the mid-way boss in genocide), then, as the final actual boss in genocide, that would make Martlet the insert for Sans.💙
Top 10 boss musics in my Opinion 1 - Best Friends Forever 2 - Showdown! 3 - Afterlife 4 - Some Point of no return 5 - Retribuition 6 - Remedy 7 - a mother's love 8 - Forlorn 9 - Enemy retreating (i consider Clover's boss theme) 10 - i dunno xd
No imagino el dolor que ha sentido marlet en su segunda fase ( lo digo por que supuestamente cuando uno se transforma en amalgama sufre un dolor inimaginable), admira su determinacion :,)
If you think about it, this is exactly what Chujin wanted, a boss monster made from an ordinary monster, Therefore, in the second phase, the martlet has the title of the zenith of monsterkind
I think this genocide battle is better in all aspects than sans In that route, you create a genocide only because of the curiosity, and the determination of continue to see the end, beeing sans like a "remember your sins of doing what do you do". Kind of weird remembering that frisk do a genocide just because he wants. In this case, it isn't a "genocide for know what happens". Is the justice for the humans that fall and die. Clover wants justice for them, but martlet's justice is different. For her, your a real monster, someone who went to low in the balance of justice and doesn't believe in the real justice. This is a clash of ideals. Not a "accept your sins". More like a "let's see who is right in the ideal we defend" And I love it :D
@@Someguyidk5988 it's more like a better perspective of what represent every soul Determination it's to never give up until the circunstaces, you have the control to do what you want and nothing will stands in your objective Justice (or judgment, the real yellow soul) it's the will to decide destiny, the destiny for you or for the others. Depending on what person you think, judgment can be a pleasure... Or doom
The problem with Yellow, and the reasoning behind the original UT's more "meta" version, is because the narrative of a "just" genocide is completely absurd. Like Martlet says, the death of five humans doesn't even come close to justify slaughtering every monster in your path, many of whom had literally nothing to do with the humans who fell. Saying that the Genocide route is "fair" because of five humans is like saying blowing up an entire school with a artillery is "fair" because there's a bully in there. Only a soulless, inhuman mindset would ignore that kind of collateral damage and loss of innocent life.
@@Lardo137 in that you're right Clover's actions aren't fair Martlet said that: they take five. You take dozens. But at least with Clover you have an objective. It's not like you make a genocide just for fun and see what happens (right, frisk). Clover wants vengeance: the vengeance for the humans. But that vengeance create a very extremist way that no monster can live. He don't make justice. He make vengeance. But not a real one. It's like a balance of justice: all the time that has to be in balance. Clover turn out that balance to an extreme and don't what to change that. That's why I think this "genocide" route (more like vengeance route) it's my favourite between UT and UTY Btw, it's just my opinion, you don't have to share it with me :)
What "remember your sins of doing what do you do" mean? It seems that someone has watched too many memes of "Human I remember your genocides". Sans doesn't really remember anything, he can only read in your face how many times you died. And doing something out of curiosity is the main theme of undertale and the player, literally the entire Flowey dialogue in genocide, which is much more interesting than the theme of revenge that has gone too far, which is overused by everyone in all media. And the destruction of the whole world, monsters and humans is better than the racist genocide of monsters from Clover. The red soul is not determination, we have no idea what trait this soul has or if there is at all, it is quite possible that this means either a game or a player, judging by the game with a snowball. Also, determination is not a separate trait, it exists in all human souls and even in some monster souls, and we do not know the color of determination.
I have scruciating pain and justice, i play on a mobile port who is outdated so i cant use endure to heal + i dont have easy mode meaning not only was i on a crappy phone whit some bugs i had to survive to second phase whitout using atleast 2 itens so that i could save some... And sure enough i did it (in my first play trough i won whit alot of hours and in my second playtrough i won in like my 26th try something around that)
I can’t be the only one who’s reminded of dynablade from Kirby superstar with this fight, right? I mean the scream at the start of the fight is almost the same as dynablade, and she does the same fly at the screen attack. Could zenith martlet be slightly inspired by dynablade?
i mean the "nobody came thing" is not relevant because clover follows lead of Justice and nothing else besides that. the correct quote would be "JUSTICE sees no evil , nor any good."
WE SAVING MONSTERKIND WITH THIS ONE 🗣🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅 oh btw if u speed of martlets second phase with the red bar, it will show she is about to punch clover in the fucking face 🥶🥶🥶 BRUTAL 💀💀💀
*martlet injects blue soul* *clover injects steroids* Martlet: I didn't saw that coming If you think so injecting souls into monsters is like steroids on humans, you start strong but you get weaker with the time, just that with the souls is faster and dosen't need do exercise
