A couple weeks ago I participated in a big Undertale medley by my friend Jack and it gave me some nostalgia for this amazing soundtrack again. I decided I wanted to tackle an Undertale song myself since I have never done one on the channel lol. (If you don't count Jevil 🤣).
I decided since it's Halloween soon, Your Best Nightmare would be a great pick!
I thought it would be best to keep the souls segments relatively similar to the original, otherwise it would lose the duality and feeling too much IMO. 😎

Your cover is the first time I’ve heard this song in a while, and it’s the first time I realized something so stupidly funny about it. Toby Fox, at 3:14, where you’re fighting the gun that shoots bullets at you, copied the bassline from Bad Apple!, a song from Touhou 4. Touhou is a bullet hell and one of his biggest inspirations. It’s exactly in character for him to do that, too.

I noticed that as well when arranging this remix haha! It's definitely in character for Toby Fox, he took a lot of things from existing properties. I am sure he also didn't expect this game to become as big as it did, otherwise he wouldn't have done that. (In Deltarune there are way less obvious inspirations like that)

@@Dethraxx At the same time, those references are still there. Just like he named Megalovania after LIVE-A-EVIL’s Megalomania, he named Knock You Down! after LIVE-A-EVIL’s song… Knock You Down!. It, uh… makes it tricky to find the original, unfortunately. Still, it’s so neat that he wears his inspirations openly and basically advertises for his favorite games.

@@Hadaron True! I've always been an Earthbound fan, so when Undertale got so popular it was also a small resurgence for Earthbound which made me happy haha!
