Wow, instantly after undervolting my Zotac 1660 Super using this exact optimization guide, i saw decreases in Wattage consumption by 35-40W, (126W to 85-90W) and temperature decreases from 77C to 63C (Granted my case doesn’t have good airflow; its an HP pavillion prebuilt) sou i’m super glad with drop! I've set my 1660s to 900mv 1920mhz, i dont know why but at first when I launched cod: warzone GPU was still running at 1040mv, but after few minutes it dropped to what i've set, and I really want to thank you because temps dropped from 70c to 64c and my PC is running noticeably quieter! ❤
@@ImWateringPSUs Do you know why sometimes it works on my custom settings and sometimes it goes to 1043mv 1950mhz while gaming? Sometimes it even goes to 1965mhz 1050mv

Subscribed. Your explanation is excellent. I'm trying to squeeze performance out of my Ryzen 5 3600, GTX 1660 Super, PNY DDR4 2666 16GB RAM. First I tried pushing everything to max and I got a big boost in FPS. I did +130 core clock and +1000 Memory clock. Temps never over 80c. I tried pushing it more but black screened. Now I'll try undervolt with curve scan. Trying to find my bottle neck. It may be my RAM rather than my GPU
Definitely with 3600Mhz RAM and 1800Mhz FCLK you'd get more out of it. Still, strictly for gaming and not for benchmarking, I think your best bet would be to Undervolt both the GPU and CPU, the 1660S as shown in the vid and the 3600 to around 4Ghz static!
Buddy, be careful, because there are no temperature sensors on the memory banks of the 16th line of NVIDIA graphics cards. Chips can get warm, and you won't notice, because this statistics is not output, because there is simply no temperature sensor that would track temperature changes on memory banks. Also, those who do not have this sensor are advised to monitor the "Hottest point of the video card", somehow it is called that, although it shows the temperature increased directly, I tend to get plus or minus truthful information, you need to take an additional -10 degrees Celsius away from the current value of this sensor. Also, if it's not a secret, can you tell if you serviced your video card before overclocking, whether you put thermal pads on the memory chips of the video card and from which vendor do you have a video card?
@@paparealist I never serviced my 1660S other than cleaning the dust off fans. I didnt put thermal pad on memory chips, is that easy to do? I have asus tuf overclocked with dual fans. Hottest point on card is not an option in afterburner but i found it in gpu-z. Thanks for the tip about no temp sensor on memory banks
Holy hell man thanks a bunch, my 1660 Super used to go up to high 70s low 80s in moderate to high usage and used to draw about 100 to 120w but now that i fiddled around with these settings and undervolted it it draws half the power or a bit over half(only reaches the 100+ mark at mac usage) and best of all dropped from an average 75C to 65C all while drawing less and maintaining the same frequency. Top notch video too with proper "noob" explanations that is simple to understand and follow, thx again mate.

I did the same as you and it works perfectly for me. The temperature is now from 47 to 55⁰C. Before that it was even up to 82⁰C. I set the fan speed myself. This is very useful and means a lot to me. My gpu is msi gtx 1660 super gaming x.
Someone said when undervolting is not good simultaneously with increasing the memory clock 500+? Will it really reduce GPU usage time? Is there an alternative, for example just adding a memory clock of 100+?

@@ImWateringPSUshey its me again, so i have reinstalled windows, undervolted my gpu again with same parameters but now every time i shut down or restart my pc it resets the undervolt settings to default
well turns out i had to click save config on startup to keep undervolting but another thing is when i set it 1920 on 925 , it sometimes changes to 1935 on 925

@@manofculture274 hey, i tried to re undervolt it while gamimg and sometimes while browsing and a miracle happened, it stayed since then. Check if you have your videocard drivers up to date and try to undervolt it while gaming, but don't forget to reset the custom one. for the best shot restart your pc after you reset the custom curve and undervolt it as soon as your gpu gets used.
first of all great tutorial also a bit late but does afterburner still work after closing it or does it need to be running in the background for it to take effect?

I got a problem before i did any anything my MHz on default is 1530 but when i undervolted exactly the same as you did in the video my MHz remained 1530 the number didnt go up, Why is that?
I originally have 1800MHz @950mV (86C-87C), I set it to 850mV but temperature only dropped to 83C. Do you think it is safe if I drop the mV more? Say, 700mV-800mV?
you didnt unlock temperature fixes via settings. Check to settings tab in afterburner . Other saying : when you reduce your mv without unlocking temp fixes it automates your whole system to adapt it , thats forcing to overclock your cores and it heats and overworks again
@@heartnett4519 Yes, I'm still using this setting, which works fine. To be sure, I adjusted my fan curve a bit higher so as to make sure that the vrams are properly cooled since they are in open air and have no contact with the heatsink.
@@sawmi37tbh i didnt fiddle with the core clock, i only increase the memory click by 500, and running with 850mv with no issues. i was thinking of increasing the core clock but i'm scared tbh
You’ll get better 1% lows and better frame stability, overall a better experience. You can also aim for around 2000Mhz on the core with 950/975mV and actually get the most possible FPS so yup, much better way imho!
Brother my gpu was crossing 80s easily but now its between 70s.it was running at 1000mv and 1800mhz...i set it to 900mv at 1800mhz..is it good or i can change it more? Like changing mhz

You need it open on startup, the settings will then last until you turn off your PC. Setting it to start with windows and to stay minimized is what I usually recommend!
i have an 1660 super 6gb OC asus tuf, when i play hunt showdown it usualy spice up to 80c, after watched your video and set mine to 900/1920 and +500 my game run real stable and temp are now 70c or below cheers mate
Hello, I have a 1660s msi ventus xs oc and I undervolt it to 1950mhz with 875mv and everything is fine, the temperature does not go above 57 degrees but after a few minutes the core clock drops from 1950mhz to 1935mhz, why does this happen?

DO NOT overclock your gpu while undervolting wattage. Your processor cells shortens their lifetime and even could phsically damage due to overworking. Just turn to factory values back and try again to undervolt !
Hello, I have had a problem for quite some time and I don't know how to solve it, it happens that when I am playing my PC loses image and the graphics fans speed up, I tried cleaning the ram memories with an eraser and the problem seemed to have been solved but now It's bothering me again, does anyone know what it could be? It happened out of nowhere, I never had this problem and I haven't changed anything on my PC

@@relax8313 asus 1660 supper ! Undervolt is magic :D same performance same fps . But 9 10 c coller . I think its kinda related to case airflow to sometimes . My case have 4 extera fan . This card was run cool before never crack 70 c but undervolt is magic . Trust 💯

@@ImWateringPSUs i see that i never mentioned that it is OCed to 2010 mhz out of the box but i followed the turorial and it works like a dream, and instead of being a sweaty 65 degrees with the fans on 100% ( my pc is dust free on the inside, clean it on the regular ) it now is like 45 degrees celsius when gaming which is a huge difference. 65 degrees is not that much for a videocard but id rather keep it cool than have it be 85 degrees, im not hearing the fans anyway with a headset on while gaming. thanks for the quick and easy tutorial.

i just found out my tuf gaming 1660 super was at default 600 watts and when copied your settings , it made my game really smooth and made my mouse feel like butter thank you :) P.S: im not sure if i wanna go higher volts 😂
did you get your problem figured out my voltage is greyed out too i dont think the undervolt thing is working (my pc still hitting over 90c trying to play elden ring on low settings) when i got the thing brand new it auto detected max settings and i played it at 120 fps. now i cap it at 60 and have it on law/med settings. its really shitty.@@muhammadmammadli5097
@@ImWateringPSUs Increasing memory clock caused some artifacts in the Plague Tale Requiem (demanding game). I applied it to my 1660 ti. I would not recommande or at least not 500 mhz one shot, but going step by step. I had to unsintall MSI AB to fix the memory overcklock issue

I bought a 1660 Super from JieShuo, the Mhz were in ~1830 so I've let 1800 for 925 mV. It lowered 5 degrees Celsius, from 75 to 70. Don't know if I can damage it putting 1920 Mhz so I did not risk it. Thanks
That’s good! You wouldn’t damage it by putting it at 1900 or 1920, but if you’re mainly looking to reduce thermals I’d recommend you set it at 875mV with 1800Mhz!
