Until you get a gas pop. He was burning on some relatively thin plate so the chance is pretty low. Now if he was burning on some 1 inch thick plate, there's a good chance he'd get some good pops.
Nice video. They should have probably fixed that leak from the collet and once you get used to the process you should feather the trigger a little on the start up instead of blasting the O2. Helps to conserve gas when out on a job with a limited supply. Been in commercial diving for 7 years if anyone wants to any tips or info about the industry.
hello what do you mean with this ?? could you be more espesific?? please. ((you should feather the trigger a little on the start up instead of blasting the O2)))
@hugosilva611 Little late and he never answered, but feathering is lightly touching into it, or carefully babying until the main process, in this case the arc, is established better. Feathering is also a term we use with controlling the O2 on standard cutting torches. In simpler words, start off slow, get the process going, and then hammer down.
I was welding in the pickler at Bethelem and my arc turned purple...When you weld in a magnetized atmosphere the arc can grow to 6 , 7 ,. 8 inches...Its a trip...lol...
This would depend from the working conditions and from the skill of the diver. In good conditions for an average burner it would take about 95 minutes.
Hey so I'm from Canada and welding is my passion, I'm still in highschool but I know the basics of every common welding proccess. Any idea where the best welding school would be?
I goto tstc in waco. Its a phenomonal school and inexpensive. Im going for my cert 2 pipeline, and then I will probably get my underwater certs. Im from houston, and ocean corp is like 25-30 mins from my home town. So its a choice situation for me. But come to the US dog. Tulsa is expensive as fuck. You are out quicker, but is it worth the fcking debt? I am also recieving an associates degree as well. And to add to the situation, waco is home to baylor university. So no joke, its hard to find an ugly girl that goes to waco. Every girl there is a straight fuckin banger bro. Google that shit or look at baylor hashtags on insta. No fuckin joke, every girl there is straight fucking super model looking.
@@sometexanguy9054 I got in with the local ironworking union here, they will pay for my tuition at NAIT for my 4 years of welding. And since Nait is one of the most renowned schools in all of canada for technical trades of all sorts.
Are those rods expensive? Just thinking every so often you need to cut some plate, but can't justify the price and insurance of oxy acetylene, but a tank of oxygen is a little more do-able.
ifell3 I think you can just use compressed air for this. Isn’t this just like a plasma cutter where the arc melts and you just need high pressure air to blow it all away.
@@FishFind3000 even better then, a bit like those gauging rods then that I think Bob used over at w.com? I bet these under water ones are more pricey, my ears pricked up when he said magnesium!!
