Undet for SketchUp is currently the only add-on in the market, allowing you to use any size point clouds directly in SketchUp. More info: www.undet.com/... Request a free trial version: www.undet.com/... Questions?: www.undet.com/...
You seem to be eyeballing the dimensions. Is there any way to reference distance between points in the cloud? As well, why are you not aligning the model more accurately to the world axis?
Hello, Yes, you can align the point cloud model to the axis, we have these tools: to move, rotate a point cloud project. Sometimes scanned object is very deformed, and it is better to keep straight lines to structurize 3D model. Sure it depends on each project's needs and your own workflow.
Yes, you can apply the texture from point clouds using UNDET Texturing tools. More info in this video -> ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ozi0ycCKv8U.html
Michael Moll hello, if you will try to download Undet for SketchUp from our web page you will get instruction how to start using Undet and demo files, in demo files you will find link to download this project. Any questions please write me directly info@undet.com
Undet seems excellent software but this video is not a tutorial and trying to replicate what is done here using after downloading the point cloud from the Undet site without step-by-step instruction is difficult and time-consuming and no better than just hacking around on your own. The video needs a commentary - sound or typed. At 1.04 a rectangle is drawn but how are the axes set up so that this works as it should without drawing a rotated rectangle; what point cloud settings are best for tracing; etc. Please keep it simple and don't assume any knowledge !
To start modelling there are many different methods: 1)You Point Cloud can be already aligned to axis 2) Using coordinates transformation tools you can aligning Point cloud to the axis 3) Set the axis to the Point Clouds using UNDET axis tools 4) Draw rectangular and start modelling 5) Use automatic feature extraction tools to find the best fitting plane and set up axis to that plane. Overall, UNDET will help you manage the point cloud, cut sections - profiles, get a clear view. 3D modelling is performed using SketchUp tools, Point Cloud you will use as a background. If I can be of assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us (www.undet.com).
