I play fight night champion on PC through RSPC3 and it's still amazing. This looks game looks like it's trying to play the same in my opinion. Definitely made by people who spent a lot of time with the fight night series. I'm pumped for a new boxing game.
I watched all 3 of these fights live back in the day…it was 3 wars ! Then Ward retired and became Gattis trainer and one of his best friends until he died. I’m still excited for this game !!!
Awesome footage! This might be me being nit picky but I hope they add details such as blood on the trunks. That’s something that the Fight Night and UFC games did a good job at. Adding those details to bring that authenticity. Really hope they update those knockdowns too. I hope they’re not in slow motion every time.
Man I was hyped for this game but I think it looked better when they were first announcing it than it does now. Now I’m going to keep playing my PS3 FN4 and Champions. Hate to say it but this game looks weak for a 2023 game. Crazy they had better mechanics over 10 years ago smh.
I want to see more flash knock downs. Don't think I've seen any of those yet. Also when a fighter gets rocked they shouldn't be able to easily evade and block shots as their balance and equilibrium should be off, so bit more stumbling around. Looks like the badly rocked fighter can still comfortable evade, move away and block shots. There should be more of a penalty for fighting reckless so if you are badly hurt or stunned your reactions should also be off.
You make very good points and I think they should and will improve on these mechanics but they also want to make it to where if your rocked you can still rock or knockdown the opponent if they are fighting recklessly trying to finish the fight
@@LilBerny7389 Good point. I guess it should depend on how badly rocked a fighter is. There should be a few different states. Like you say it'll probably be tweaked more during development.
@@RyanX1899 I only got to play during day 3 of the beta and won all my fights but one via knockout so they definitely improved it alot over the 3 days, the game still has alot of flaws but I've started playing fight night for the first time recently and without rose tinted glasses I personally say so far undisputed does seem to hold up well compared to them. Overall I'm looking forward to the game alot more now especially if they give punches more stopping power which would eliminate the only flaw I see in the gameplay that isn't just nit picking that being the ability to spam the shit out of punches on the inside with no consequences.
the guys right next to the ropes need some kind of reaction especially when one of the boxers gets dropped cause they're just standing there staring like they're watching the national anthem
@@bradleytstinson I just requested to be part of the beta test through the Steam page a few days ago. Then I got an email invite on Friday saying I was selected to be able to try it.
They should add fighters voice effects like punching voice animations and on the stunned animations pure boxer knockouts reactions also would be fire 🔥
I know it’s the beta but this shouldn’t even be beta, this is like early alpha. This game is doing nothing better than a game made 2 generations ago, Fight Night. Not even the graphics, which you would think would be much better in 2022 compared to 2009. I see nothing groundbreaking or even interesting about this gameplay. It looks boring to play, it’s not realistic and it’s stiff like UFC. more freedom needed with footwork and punches to make game fluid. Very very disappointing.
They done a good job but the issue is the game mechanics favouring hooks over straight punches 95% of the time. The most important punch in boxing is the jab. It’s meant to stop opponents in their tracks and set up other punches. The jab and straight don’t even have reach to hit. They gotta fix that!
These dudes are just swinging that’s why it look weird. It’s a actually a technical game when you use the head movement, blocking, and follow up combos, otherwise if you fight how this fight is being fought then you will just burn stamina. They are just throwing the same punches and anybody with skill in the game will win every fight when people just spam punches. A video is different from actually playing it. But there is things that they need to work on especially for making us wait as long as they did lol.
I would normally agree, because when I was playing the beta, that's EXACTLY how I went into every game. Timed my shots, looked for openings, threw counters, attempted to use the jab to keep fighters at a distance (that did not work, and fighters just walk right through the jab, so I feel that needs to be addressed quickly). However, most of the fights I had (about 10 in total over the three days due to the server issues and inability to connect to find a match, so I just stopped playing about two hours ago) my opponent would just spam the crap out of the buttons. I am sure SOME of that had to do with the horrible latency between controller input and action on the screen, but certainly not all. I lost EVERY fight to the cards, and yielded higher percentage stats in EVERY round including the overall by over 20% each time (my overall average was around 56-72%, vs my opponents averages of 25%-45%). My opponents threw on average 125-165 punches per round, and I threw an average of 60-70 per round. Of course they are going to land more punches, because their output was 2-3 times higher than mine.... even at 30% landing percentage. But they won the fights just due to that, and the only rounds I ever won were ones that either I threw higher punches or landed more punches - even if it was just by one punch overall. I was never knocked down, and the lowest my health ever got was around 65/100. So I really feel unless they replace/fix the way the judging is, and how points are earned, they are just breeding this type of "button-mashing" environment online. If definitely needs to be fixed.
Clearly the commentary needs work ; given the volume of punches thrown/landed I think the health bars need to diminish quicker. Other than that though it looks good. Not too long until release by the looks of the gameplay at least.
There was some repeated dialogue, animations are stiff, and the knockdown animations need to swap from ragdoll to pre made at random. To add to the realism.
Finished the beta with a record of 6-3. Only got one tko even though I was rocking people multiple times every fight. They didn't immediately come after me after a rock though. Started backing up and I just couldn't catch them.
This was actually reminiscent of trilogy. Whoever was using Gatti put together some nice fluid 3 punch combinations. 3body-3-4 head 👍🏾 I enjoyed this demo..This was a slugfest at best not a lot of pure boxing. I want to know can you parry or catch punches by control?
They confirmed that there isn't a mechanic that allows you to parry intentionally, but the physics system sometimes does it by automatically depending on the inputs from both opponents
I got bored watching that gameplay. Firstly, it sounds like there’s a lot more people in the venue than there actually is. Where’s the third person in the ring?? The referee The boxing animation was repetitive and slow. There was no facial deterioration, cuts, bruising swelling or human reactions from the onslaught being dished out by either man. The commentating was as good Don Kings one and only horrid boxing game… Poor. As for the boxers, they were both unrecognisable, stiff and lack the individual characteristics of who they are supposed to emulate. This game should be scrapped. It’s as good as the final version they will put on the market. EA Sports should do a remake of any version of Fight Night using today’s technology, remastered for the PS5. There’s a better chance of us getting a realistic boxing game from them instead. If all else fails, we can wait for EA Sports UFC 5. The developers might as well hold fire for another decade before releasing this game and get some tips from the real award winning artists in the industry.
This looks very stiff , the punches don’t look they have any weight or force to then. Reminds me of an old 64 boxing game with new graphics. Was really hopeful for this. A lot needs to change I feel like tho. Fingers crossed.
Sad that i wasn't even able to play it. Every time i started it, it said available in random amount of time and when the time was up, it was stuck on searching
I haven’t seen one clinch when a fighter was hurt 🤷🏽♂️ there is no tactics whatsoever and you want to know why…. No fear of the KO! They need to up the damage to force fighters to fight strategically. They need to take the flash off all together and make this straight simulation and if you get caught with a clean punch that shit Rock you almost every time. they also need to takeoff the hud… the crowd should be silent, and only react to punches! They need to hurry up and fix the referee, and they need to take all of the teleporting knockouts all together!
Honestly though, why can't EA just produce another Fight Night game? They have experience with it and they were pretty darn good. 2011 Fight Night looks similar to this, maybe even better.
My initial feedback: Change the crowd sound to match the area you are in. Also have them build to the big moments instead of constantly cheering at the top level throughout. It pulls you out of the immersion if they are constantly screaming at the top of their lungs.
@@texastiger903 The stamina and damage never worked the way it did before and you could spam the straight right it would literally suck all the stamina and you could get an easy knockdown you can't be serious this common knowledge fighters would be zombies if you threw too many punches gas out in a few rounds very unrealistic
Hats off to these two warriors who stood in the middle of the squared circle on a quarter and left it all in the ring. The winner of this fight should definitely get a title shot!
That's because these guys aren't using the full capabilities of the footwork .I'm looking to see someone fight with more of Mayweather , Devin Haney style. I feel it will really showcase the game better .
@@kevinkohler9561 dawg that's wha I been saying since I seen gameplay jus looks so stiff compared to fnc and that was 2011 and I've been playing it recently
@@MakaveliThaDon pretty sure his point is bc it's the beta they just put in whatever random commentating they wanted to put in, they weren't tryna showcase that side of the game hence it being a beta, commentating is a feature of the game we won't see anything of until alpha or final product drops
Unfortunately because of lack of hit reactions in the game, it's always going to end up being a slugfest. Basically if your punches doesn't stop your opponents on their tracks, or knock them off their own strikes, then nothing is stopping them from just winging hooks at you while you're trying to time your jab
Because they wasn't spamming and they played at a slower an more realistic pace, which is still possible to do as long as your opponent wants to play like that aswell
are damage models turned off. they need sweat spray on the punch. they should not be able to just stand and swing like that and not get knocked out. needs a lot of work.
Turned on but not finished, ability to get KO'd is in the game is there but they want KO's to feel special and not just happen left, right & center (their words, not verbatim). Also since this was supposed to be a matchmaking/server stress test and not a gameplay one apparently damage able to be absored was upped considerably, but they did make tweaks to damage/stamina etc for the 2nd day of testing. But yeah the game does need a lot of work, which goes without saying since it's still far from complete.
I see what you mean, it's not that weird though real referees sometimes stop counting as the fighter is getting up, he stops counting to take a good look before checking if the fight can continue
@@dontbewoke boxing is the only thing I watch lol. the ref can stop counting when the fighter is barely getting up. he can stop counting when the fighter who causes the knockdown is not in the neutral. he can stop counting even 2-3 seconds after the fighter gets up. I know the queensberry rules of boxing that's how much I follow boxing f
People talking about “it’s just beta”obviously haven’t played! This game is so unfinished as it stands it can’t be considered a beta, more like an alpha that’s going into early access to get more funding to hopefully make the game better But as it stands it needs so much work I’m afraid unless you’re a die hard boxing fan it will put a lot of players off right from the get go! I for one will support this game just cause there’s no other boxing or mma games on PC so I hope it does well but as it stands it’s got a long way to go! That’s just me being real.
@@idontknow9542 fighters clipping into each other hit boxes all over the place, no real impact on the punches. Robotic character movement once you’re stationary and throwing punches and a lot of really awkward animations when throwing punches, It looks great until you start to box or get in close then it just looks a mess. It’s supposed to be a next gen boxing game but the core mechanics seem dated. Games like Undisputed 3 literally have better feeling boxing mechanics than this game does at present! Not to mention things like getting knocked down in the corner but when it goes to the count your fighters laying in the middle of the ring! Just them points alone prove it’s not a beta, I mean the very fact it’s going into early access first proves it’s not a beta. It’s a work in progress game that has a long way to go and will need a lot of support and funding to make it into the game it could potentially be. Anyone who’s played it must feel the same otherwise they are lying to themselves. This game is as rough as it comes at this moment in time. I could go on about it’s issues all day and this is what people need to do and take it to the devs if you want it to be a good game. Settling for anything half ass does nothing for anyone who wants this game to be good!!
@jesushomiejt clearly haven’t played it or even watched it in any great detail if you think that! It’s also been massively down graded graphically compared to what we was seeing a few months ago but I suppose that’s just beta too 😂
@@Dmc841 This is a beta they didnt give out the current build of the game which is why theres no ref, terrance crawford, different venues and whatever else + they already said the beta was only to test the online part of the game so hopefully most of the stuff you talked about is fixed/being fixed but you’re right if this is the current build it needs hella work
Eating punches like it’s a rocky movie. Punches need to feel like they land with some umph also More power needs to be added and something like the vulnerability system that ea sports ufc3 had. Commentary is horrendous but it’s beta so whatever I guess. Ref counts entirely too fast!! Graphics looking good tho
I really hope this is nothing like the real Game this Sucks‼️they are moving like stiff robots. The commentary is straight up annoying and boring, the boxers have no foot movements, and they’re throwing punches like robots,3 years of working on this Game and they Got Absolutely nowhere..smh 😞
This game is absolutely terrrible at this stage. Fight Night Champion is far superior to this in every way. The striking in this game isn't even on the level of UFC 3 and thats saying something.
@@ivbeats1767 That's just delusion lol Clunky physics and a few missing features isn't on the level of a pre-alpha, not in the slightest. Your standards are fucked simple as that, plus this is an older beta made merely to test the multiplayer function. The devs have a more refined version of this for themselves
@@ARG0T This gameplay is worse than EA Sports UFC from like 6 years ago, it certainly is worrying that this is what they consider acceptable for beta testing. I was coping just like you until I played the game, its over.
Can you imagine if someone walks backwards the entire match how frustrating that will be. You literally can't do hardly any damage to them. These matches are literally non stop punching. Game needs alot of changes
I’m hoping that isn’t the case but I see what you mean. Cutting off the ring should have more effect on the retreating fighter , especially when they’re hurt.
I agree with this. The fighter's backs are are too straight when throwing punches instead of being a bit shelled up. Also the punches to the head are mostly shoulder punches instead of coming from the base and the hip. The body punches have a better animation. Jabs don't seem to be effective at all. Don't see any double or triple jabs softening the opponents.
Were is the inside fighting Animation??? And it seems as players have to weave . Reset then throw a punch.. They also need to bend down more to get more leverage into the body shots. . The slip Animation/ counter window needs work too.. The crowd is unrealistic. Boxing crowds tend to be quiet if it's a lull in the action.. Fighters take way to much punishment without consequence. Which make the game feel like rock em sock em Robots. . # ⚠️ if current issues are not addressed Undisputed probably want get that title shot😫
There should be far less, big clean shots getting through and when a clean shot does get through it needs to have some impact, ie stun or knockdown like in real life. No one can take repeated shots like these two are landing. It’s an immersion breaker for me and something all boxing video games gets wrong.
I see a lot of bad habits from fight night carrying over. It’s gonna be easy to rank up for me. Hopefully the game mechanics allow me to expose poor boxing.
Game looks good but they took a lot of punches and no damage. Plus it looks like trying to finish a stunned fighter will be a mission in it's own. Also I think Arturo Gatti from Champion looks better. By the time this game comes hopefully they work on the graphics more.
