Everyone uses stats like most 30 point games and steals for SGA but Luka had more rebounds, assists and points per game which are far more impactful. SGA 2 steals per game, Luka 1.4 per game. Defensive rating SGA 110 Luka 112. Luka can go off for 40 points any game. Luka is the most double teamed player in the nba. Come on, talk stats that matter. Luka had 43-44 games with 30 plus points and he was third in triple doubles. I just don’t understand the hate.

Ironically the only team with a main rotation player who can’t buy a drink is Dallas. Dlive is a fresh 20 even Chet is 22. SGA is older than Luka and Dort is 25.

They didn’t think PJ would get another 20 and he did. Paul explained why he will continue doing it. You put his man back on PJ and stop doubling Kyrie and Luka, all of the sudden driving lanes open up and now Kyrie and Luka have open lanes to the basket. You either give PJ open shots, or you have to guard one on one. And you don’t want Kyrie defended one on one by anyone. They simply have to hope PJ misses. That’s their only shot.

So far, what we know in this series is OKC can’t win if Dallas hits their shots. And they can’t stop packing the paint because they have no paint protection other than Chet, who’s being dominated on the glass in the series.

Yeah but you’re not talking about them doing something unusual, you’re talking about them just hitting their season averages. Washington is exceeding his season stats but you went from 60 points a game for the season with Luca and Kyrie to 29 points in a game that should’ve been an easy Win at home. Lucas hurt and that’s difficult for him and his status is allowing OKC to double Kyrie which makes it difficult for him. It’s a shame Dallas doesn’t have the three-point shooters that OKC does because it prevents you from doubling and leaving someone open. It’s not really a what if, it’s just a matter of what should have been. OK got incredibly lucky that Luca came into the series so has been able to dominate him it wasn’t that way during the season. But I have to give them their do, they are really good team and really fun to watch so other than darts being too physical against an injured player, I like the games and I’m OK with them moving on if they deserve it.

The issue Okc has is that both Kyrie/Luka haven't needed to go off to win. Sga has needed to score 30 just to compete.. Even if someone steps up who ever that is cant compete with Kyrie or Luka. In the 4th you can see Kyrie knows they aren't ready to guard him they have talent and are smart but Kyrie Iq alone is to much for them at this point. If Jay will scores more he's is just going to end up to tired to guard Kyrie. SGA has been playin off ball defense the entire series that why he isn't tired. The moment SGA has to guard Luka you can expect his offense will also take a hit. SGA has already not been able to score in the 4th when you get less calls. Okc has potential but this is just not their year and they should be proud of what they have done. If you listen to kyrie pre game speech Mavs are focused on winning a chip that mentality is not where Okc/Twolves are at. Kyrie/Luka are smarter then Okc players/ more focused on the goal. Mavs also know they need Luka too find rest for next round. The team literally has been benching Luka too maintain his health Okc cant just bench SGA and still win. Mavs vs Denver WCF and I think Mavs will shock the world. Mavs are also best suited to beat Celtics in finals. Celtics play a style of ball that favors Luka/Kyrie the only advantage is White/Holiday defense is elite but even with that I dont think you can stop Kyrie the way he has been playing.

As a Mavs fan, you can't take away the stamp Chet is having on this series, he is altering so many shots in the paint that Mavs regularly make. He makes me anxious looming there when Gaff and D-Live have the ball in the paint. SGA feels pretty unstoppable unless we throw desperate defense at him which is unsustainable full game so he will get his. Jdub (is that right?) is a baller but unless you have some experience in the brute and desperate battle of the playoffs, and how to kind of pace yourself through -out, he's going to disappear a bit which he seems to be doing. Edit: Why does Paul Pierce have the most sane, down to earth, considered takes? He is actually too good for this show, probably should team up with JJ.
Luka played well last match, was relatively efficient, a lot of hard and important rebounds, very very important steal and transition bucket to save the game and also he would have more points if last 5 mins of the game werent fouling derreck lively
