Undrafted GEMS? What Johnson and Kubas offer the Giants

His comp to me is Trent Jones of Michigan who also is a UDFA. They are the same type of versatile OL who can be serviceable at multiple positions, have good feet and hands but lack NFL play strength.

Both of these guys have a real chance to make the Giants this year.

Nick you & Dan when get time & maybe do breakdown video on players on the team that have potential going under the radar” That fit similar skills sets of some of the players coming out of the draft. Also can benefit from the new scheme & coming in to start of their prime years” Players like Boogie Basham at DT. I.Simmons at OLB/Edge. B.F.Weaton at ST/WR/H-back. C.Flout at CB2. J.Ezuedu the swing T/G. CB’s like D.Jackson & S.T.Oliver that might add Depth. Beavers at MLB/OLB/Edge” Also don’t like to say it but E.Neal at RG since he been at the right side” Something to 🤔 bout why they didn’t draft certain positions” GO BIGBLUE”

These two signings are for the practice squad. If they develop good if not then the NYG didn't lose anything. This is just JOE doing his due diligence and leaving no rock lefted unturned.

PEEWEE JARRETT .. a diamond in the rough UNDRAFTED QB from west florida , ,, schoen and daboll and their 20 scouts might have done a little research AND invited him to camp .. no...ok , he is signed now by the jets .. hoping he makes the team ..

W breakdowns! Schoen must know something we dont. No lineman drafted in two years ex JMS who was a pretty high pick. Eagles cowboys even bengals (though they arent as good) add lineman in every draft.

Kubas is an interesting signing. They must see something there if they gave him a bigger contract for a UDFA. Hopefully he can develop into a solid depth guard, and maybe even more into like a Rich Seubert kind of guy (although that's probably asking too much).

Kubas has a high football iq reminds me ofbthat old guard hutchinson. Not very imposing but really smart andbuses great technique

Hey Nick.. been watching football for 35 years, played some OL in college.. just curioud, how much do you place on OL from a pass protection standpoint, is their thinking process to the QB? How much do they see hashmark placement, play flowin regards to protection? I see a big disconnect between what DJ sees in protection potential vs what his OL sees as what the protection is going to b, maybe why he breaks procket soooo much..i really think a better QB will improve this OL blocking just on what the future QB1 can see protection wise...

Another year putting hope into FA & UDFA OL signings. I'm sobering up on my yearly expectations on these guys. So many needs & too many holes. The Neal failure is more impactful than advertised. The idea of even considering another investment into QB1 & doing 🐶💩 to improve the protection is a circle jerk that is finite.

Sounds like both these guys have good athletic assets and need to build strength. That would seem doable.

Johnson could be a really good project. Give him some time in a nfl weight/conditioning program

I don’t know if Schoen can draft OL men. Give me Dave any day here. I was definitely with it with The Hogs. A much better concept. Not perfect but better.

O line still scares me because they refuse to move neal to G. I think he would clean up there. Kid is NOT a tackle

Giants have a load of talent going into camp Kunas Johnson Duplain Barnes Neal see what sticks to the wall anything will be a plus depth young talent mentored by veterans insurance but a bunch of gems WRJiles WRAsante WRBell LBOvie DBJohnson DTRogers LBDrake LBWhite DBGervin I would say Liam is the biggest Gem of his game translates to the NFL Patrick Myhomie Jordan types plays

Awesome analysis. I was disappointed we didnt get a T with more upside since we didn't draft 1, but Johnson move to guard seems promising. I still would have preferred Dankwa for run plays or Pearl for development.

Both these guys are undersized linemen. I doubt they will help the Giants outside of being the extra lineman on a goalline.

So our 3rd round pick was basically another 4th and short for the Giants. They choked. We needed linemen.

If an UDFA makes the roster, that means you have a bad team.
