When you return to civilization do things just look gross to you as compared to the beauty that you climb and film ? Aside from people and supplies , I can't imagine concrete and bricks hold much appeal to you. A sincere thank-you for the FF and MF videos. You are too talented for the factory !
I don't pretend to speak for FF or anyone else who suffers on purpose in the mountains, but I can tell you from my own experience that, yes -- the city feels gross by comparison. Just yesterday, I was sitting on a 50 degree slope of loose scree at about 10,000 feet (only a few miles from where Foresty shot this video, interestingly enough) as the dark clouds rolled in and the cold and wind chewed right through me. I knew that I was too tired to climb another 500 feet to the summit fast enough to beat the weather, so I had to give up. I recorded a little video for my family, and I said, "it's disappointing, but still better than any day in the city." And, it's true. My legs hurt today, but I still wish I was back out there, cold and alone. It's just how some of us are wired, I guess.
Mostly the noise bothers me! Car alarms and loud exhaust pipes, soundtrack of the city. And not being able to step outside to take a leak when I want to haha.
Videos like this are why I love that you have added this second channel to You Tube sir! Please anytime you have a chance. Go through and add your Drone footage, or raw hiking or climbing montages. Really like your choice of music for this one sir! Well done and beautiful!
Wow! This footage took me back a few years and was a little scary! In the late winter of '86 I spent 5 days at an ACC hut (I thought it was the Lloyd MacKay hut I can't find it on the net now) on the Freshfield glacier skiing and climbing. We exited by crossing the Freshfield, scrambling over onto the Mummery, descending it all the way to the toe where we picked up a cached snow machine and 4 of us were towed behind it down the forest road along the Blaeberry river until we reached our pick-up truck and drove down to Golden, 2 of us shivering back in the truck bed. Our 20+ h epic ended with waking the owner of a motel at about 4 am. Right up there with the toughest days of my life. Time has made some changes to the Mummery glacier and I don't think I will be skiing it this coming winter, lol - can't imagine what we were skiing over, it was a very tough descent.
Just…. WOW!!! I wasn’t going to watch this - thought it would be boring. But, once started I couldn’t turn it off. Fantastic, and the music too well done mate. I’ll never get to see anything like this in person, being 70+ and in Australia. Thank you. 👍🐸
Forestry Forest is giving us an Historical Record of this past few years with his great drone shots! Thanks. Will be interesting to look back in 10 years.
Why I want to see videos from you weekly: The photography! The Music! To know you are still alive! If you are too tired to hike, this sort of thing is wonderful! Keep 'em coming.
You are way too talented to ever work at a factory my friend! Amazingly shot! Stay safe out there! Don't do anything stupid. Consider hiking poles to reduce stress on your joints as well. I mean, I bet you want to do this for a long time, even at older age. :) And we'd love to see that as well!
Look under GASP in the dictionary and you'll see my goofy face 😜 Doesn't get any more awe inspiring than this and our friend Forestry Forest is the best at documenting such experiences. Safe travels friend and keep em coming... we'll be watching! 😎👍
PRIMO!!! UR HELPING TO FREE MY MIND FROM MY WHEELCHAIR AND GET ME BACK INTO BACKCOUNTRY FAT BIKING, X-COUNTRY SKIING/SNOWSHOEING, BACKPACKING, AND KAYAKING (U SHOULD GO ULTRA-LITE E-MOTION).
Those crevasses are mazing from the air. That is why you rope off with a partner many many metres apart if one of you falls into one when snow is covering those glaciers!
I am truly gobsmacked by how captivating the textures and patterns are have been created buy mother nature! I don't do drugs but I am guessing that the intense deep primal emotion and sense of mind being expanded that your video evokes (trying to comprehend the evolution of these gorgeous beasts) replicates what being on a psychedelic would feel like. Simply mind-blowing! Much gratitude to you for sharing this magnificent spectacle with all of us. Just WOW!!!!!!
Why don’t you do drone footage of a new road trip instead ? Many of us have been waiting for a long time now for you to take an actual long distance road trip 💯
The slow movement of the filming helps us appreciate and understand better what we are looking at. I love the rocks and can visualize the glacial movement. Great shooting. It is art!!!
Foresty (Simon) is akin to a modern day Catharine Whyte. Exploring the mountains and telling their stories with artistry through digital media. Keep going Foresty!
Thanks for this! Back when I used to see this kind of stuff in person, it would sometimes take my breath away. Old time cameras really did not do it justice. But your's really captures that feeling well.
Humans exterminate with deliberate action but are too insignificant to have influence on Mother Nature and the forces of our immediate universe. Rather, it is the opposite.
Looking at this video, it has a beautiful and eerie feeling that you are all alone. Have you ever seen anything odd or unusual when you’ve looked back at your drone video? Take care 🇨🇦 ❤️
