It’s so annoying too cause all the 5 year olds that don’t even play are always losing their shit in the comments about how Aaron is a god and nobody even comes close. Just sad. There’s vid of him play 320bpm recorded on a phone or sum and he’s literally gripping the sticks with his entire hand squeezing the shit out of it using his entire arm to make the motion. I honestly can’t tell if he’s trolling everyone or actually trying to convince people

From what I understand, Aaron admits that the drums are programmed. IA’s music fucking slays. I love their music and can’t wait for more from them. There’s not a bad song on any of their CDs.
i don't think drums are full programmed, but probably they use a lot of triggers register some part separately (double bass snare or cymals) and increase their records
Craig, let's be honest as much as I love you and your analytical snare counting the real reveal is much more simple.... the guy is playing a Sabian B8 crash and it sounds half decent soooooo could have wrapped this as fake without him even sitting down.

He can play them live, not as clean obviously but there’s many clips of him playing IA raw

Look, I'm a hardcore Infant Annihilator fan. The drums are programmed. There are some idiots who claim to be his or the band's fans and then try to defend him with half and half information. There is nothing to be ashamed about here since they are a studio band. No intention of touring or playing live. The guitarist and drummer are in another band called 'Black Tongue' in which they tour and are actually them playing the instruments. Infant Annihilator is purely to be taken as a joke. (Of course the lyrics are deep in some of the songs exposing the evils of the Church) It's purely for joy of music. People (like me) who don't care if they can't play it or if it's all editing and shit. We just enjoy the music part of it. Aaron himself said it in a stream that it's programmed, but he said he doesn't program anything he can't play. (We don't know that for sure, maybe with snare triggers it sounds the way their snare sounds in all their gravity blasts)

Why, fucking WHY, wouldn't he post another one then with his own kit and a backing track that he can hear? 100 percent fart sniffers. I'd also like to point out that the drum parts are even more insane on the newer albums. If he posted a legitimate playthrough it would easily be the most watched core playthrough on the net. No reason outside of "shits too hard to pull off cleanly".
Yes this is 100% fake. No MICs or Triggers on his kit. Also there are no live videos of them. Look it up, its been proven to be Fake... Great song but all Synth...not real drumming.
no… okay yes and no. the video? yeah it’s not real. he’s playing real drums but the instrumental is laid over. however, their first two albums, the plop and egg, are him actually playing. (with triggers or probably an e-kit of course.) their most recent album, aaron has admitted to programming all of the drums. he doesn’t program stuff he hasn’t written/can’t play however, and it was programmed due to time-saving and the fact that aaron had personal issues and wasn’t really able to practice drums. but in this original song and likely 95% of their other songs (not counting recent album) aaron does infact play.

It would have been better (transparent) if that was fully disclosed in the video. They chose not to and I, like many others, am just pointing it out.
He might not be playing Infant Annihilator songs (however he plays live for Black Tongue and some of the stuff from Nadir is pretty fast), we can all agree that he has a fantastic drumming creativity
it's hilarious seeing all of the fanboys defending this. especially when they say "he played it live". if you consider that "playing" then any random drummer could "play" it. i can flub and forget parts just like this guy, guess i'm an amazing drummer too.
The whole band has said this video in particular was “faked” for lack of a better word. But Aaron got quite pudgy after this album was made and I haven’t seen even 1 drum video from any song they’ve made since lol. So, we all know it’s done through a computer of some kind nowadays. But it’s been like 5 years since they’ve made an album, so who really knows what they’re up to anymore? 🤷🏻♂️☕️
well most of their songs are actually impossible to play and all the members are part of other bands and do infant annihilator as a side thing, i saw dickie allen the vocalist touring with nekrogoblikon a bit back and apparently he joined up with them

The Audio is delayed to the video. If you count the snares, as you do at 10:49, you should see that the first 2 snares are hit before the snare sound starts... So yeah. They’re very open about their drums being programmed. But aaron always plays the parts on an e kit to see if its possible before putting it in the song. And they’re a self proclaimed parody band
I will say, he kinda fucks in black tongue. Saw some live footage that was really close to the stage, hence it sounded pretty raw. His blasts are a lot more precise and consistent than I was expecting, same goes for his feet. He might be a little tappy on the feet but it’s hard to tell.
I see people shitting on programmed drums and triggers etc all the time, but it doesn't fucking matter. Anything goes in art. If the artist is trying to pass it off as real/natural/whatever for profit or clout, then it's an issue.

Listen to the studio track. This is 100% just a video of him "playing" the song with the actual album drums slapped on top of it. And it's done in multiple takes then edited together. This guy is a phony. I think he actually is a pretty good drummer in Black Tongue, but those drums are simple in comparison. Not to mention, the songs they put out on the follow-up album are WAY more ridiculous than this song, and he can't even play this one solid live.
Now yes, he did play over the song and that is most likely why it looks fake (cause it is all editing and stuff in the video) but you do have to give the guy credit that he is able to at least keep up with most of it. Also there is a short video of him playing drums live on a smaller kit and he is still really good. And the point of the band is to be extreme as possible and sometimes you have to do bullshit things to get that,but who cares? Its entertaining

AMAZING BAND!! i absolutely love them, but i just hate when people say he can actually play this fast. Like its clearly all for jokes .. just fans are annoying.
He can play it technically, it just doesn't sound like this and would not translate well in a live setting. Due to it not sounding perfect people would be less interested because everyone these days are silly and expect perfect drums. That's just the nature of the beast that is the modern metal production and expectations.

There's a part in the video where his kicks go so fast, it does that thing Cubase used to do when you program drums where the pitch changes. For some reason the original came up in my feed, started watching it and instantly knew you'd have a video on it!

Aaron doctors his videos and programs everything in Superior Drummer, Marthyn Jovanovic showed this in detail. I'm pretty sure I can program in Superior Drummer too, anyone who knows how to use a DAW can do what he does.

I'm not a drummer. I assumed it was real. I didn't even know if this was considered hard to play or not. If you watch a master of a craft work, in a field you know nothing about, you cannot critique. I think that's why there are so many likes. When I saw it, I just thought, "wow, these drummers make it look so easy" and went about my day. Is there somebody who can actually play this? Or even close?

They do do things to take the piss. Look at the Blapshemian video. It's poking a joke. All drums sound the same on every album after the studio engineer spends days eqing each individual beat. Lol
