This movie is often rated as a top 3 of all time. Every possible emotion, with hope and friendship at the end. The Green Mile, John Wick, Forrest Gump. Trust me. These 3 are all serious dramas which will pull at your heartstrings
This is one of the best films you'll probably ever see. It is a wonderful thing that you've learned in this first viewing. If you open your mind to older films and films that have themes that you wouldn't normally be interested in I think you'll find an incredible wealth of cinema. What I hope for you is that this is the beginning of a wonderful journey for you. You certainly have been missed and this is a great platform for you I wish you all the best.
It's never too late. I used to watch big tent Hollywood spectacles/ action movies and got stuck at a movie theater that sold out. It forced me to see a small film based on dialogue. Changed my life. I now go to film festivals looking for thay experience that shows me/teaches me something new, reflects something interesting in our world, makes me feel an emotion. I scarcely ever watch big budget schlock. They are just unsatisfying. There's so much out there you've denied yourself. Don't be afraid of the small, the independent, the foreign film. Don't expect every one to do big things. Film can show u small slices of life or just a singular idea too. Be forewarned that most people will suggest easy hollywood oscar bait type movies exclusively. Watch them, but don't fall into that trap either.
Here’s a list of top movies. Saving private Ryan, gladiator, Forrest Gump, good will hunting, braveheart, rain man, field of dreams, green mile, tropic thunder.
"How to build hope in a hopeless environment" .. I think you nailed it right there... especially the transformation of Red at the end "I hope".. btw, love your reaction and your hair 😊
Arrival is a very good one but you should start in the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s classic’s, it’s a rabbit hole. Good luck! Can’t wait! Also, thank you for pausing. Most reactors just talk or talk over each other and miss a lot. This was awesome.
Most people feel the same way. Shawshank Redemption is the best movie ever. Try watching these? The Terminator Alien The Godfather1&2 Scarface (1983) A Bronx Tale When Harry Met Sally Amedeus Misery Deloris Claiborne Forest Gump Terminator 2 Airplane Planet of the Apes (1968) Schindler’s List Saving Private Ryan Gladiator Goodfellas The Fly (1986)
I’m really glad you watched and enjoyed this film. This is actually my all time favorite movie from the author Stephen King which is also from my state of Maine. The movie scenes and a lot of the names and places like the prisons, the town names like Portland and Buxton (where I used to live in both of them) the banks, the grocery store and the boarding house are very accurate in this film so I know the where the different scenes are taken place. The movie called the Green Mile which is a Stephen King book is also worth watching but maybe have some tissues close by you might possibly need them. I’m very happy you’re including movies on your channel now, it’s a whole new category of enjoyment coming our way to watch your reaction.
This movie is the highest rated movie on IMDB and regarded as the best movie ever made. My favourite movie is Gladiator. Hopefully you'll get a chance to see that. Fantastic reaction. New sub here. ❤
Hello Half Pint & RU-vid family!!! This should be interesting but I'm sure it'll be great!!! This was a homerun being your first movie reaction & love all your insights on the movie!!! Love ya lots Sis & everyone have a wonderful weekend!!!💙💙💙
I just watched it too (hence why I’m here, haha). The wave of emotion that fell over me afterwards…When you referred to the roof scene as having contributed to the sense of hope, it got me thinking and I think that it propelled the movie forward towards it’s message of hope was that making sure that his friends were included in the deal showed them that he wasn’t selfish and that there could be better days in prison rather than just fear of consistent beatings for even speaking.
Awesome reaction to a great movie . I love seeing you back on here. Looking forward to your next one. some suggestions , The Green Mile, Forrest Gump, Band of Brothers, or for a little comedy , Grumpy old Men.
This is the first time I found your channel and you just started reacting to movies. This is the best movie of all time. Everything you react to beyond this will be on a lower tier. Welcome to the community.
Fantastic first movie reaction, and also my favorite movie of all time! Hope you can react to "Forrest Gump", "The Green Mile" and "Good Will Hunting". Such a great start, I wish you the best on your movie journey!
Girl, you don't know what you're getting in to. There are many movies that will rock your world. I'm 63years old and I have seen many, many movies. This is my first seeing you doing reactions on movies. So to see you for a long time, It would be like sharing movies with my niece..
If you want to react to a series "Firefly" is in a class of its own. Wonderful characters, writing and stories. Just one season, and nobody who's watched the series understands how that could have happened, but what a season!
I've absolutely LOVED your music reactions and laughed and cried along with you. I'm very excited to watch more movie reactions of yours, and I'm so glad you're starting with one of the best movies ever made. I'm subscribing today!
Hi Gitana, I've recently discovered your channel and I've subscribed. I enjoyed your reaction to this classic, it really is an emotional rollercoaster. Please react to these awesome movies :) Memphis Belle, Red Tails, The Battle Of Britain, The Dambusters, 1941, Good Morning Vietnam, Kelly's Heroes, Every Which Way But Loose, Any Which Way You Can, The Blues Brothers, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, Wayne's World, Waynes World 2, Police Academy 1 - 4, Wildcats, Coming To America, K-9, Ferris Beuller's Day Off, Armed And Dangerous, Airheads, Tango & Cash, Reservoir Dogs, The Quick And The Dead, Who's Talking & Look Who's Talking Too.
Peter Weller gave a speech at a screening of Robocop once (the video is all over RU-vid), and it sounds like the statement of a mentor of his can apply here: you don’t know what you like, you like what you know. You absolutely won’t like everything out of your comfort zone, but remember this feeling and use it to open new cinematic doors. You’ll find a lot of gems you’d never have watched otherwise.
I, of course, have already seen this several times but "it's been a minute" and was very enjoyable to watch it again with you. I think movies every now and again is a great idea. Loved your reaction.💙
There’s a story they mention in the movie, “The Count of Monte Cristo.” You should check out the movie of that book, that came out in 2002. That’s a real good one. Some other great movies classics, but with different premises. -Forest Gump -Good Will Hunting -Silence of the Lambs -A Few Good Men These are good starter packs.
Hi G. ! Years ago, I asked if you would consider doing movie reactions. Glad to see you took me up on it. Love the reaction!! Keep it up, Love!! I'll be watching! 🥰
Wonderful! You did well. For not knowing what you were doing, you certainly did a great job of it. You even did right things that most others do wrong. You remembered that WE HAVE seen the movie already, what we came to see is YOU. Keep it up, you will quickly get better. Trust your audience to guide you to films that are right for you, and trust your instincts, they are better than most. 😊
That was voted the best film of all time in many surveys including IMDB. I agree, my favourite film. Great story, superb acting, emotional rollercoaster from suicide of Brooks to Red getting the letter from Andy. I suggest Gladiator and Interstellar. If you want a good laugh try Elf and Dumb and Dumber
Forrest Gump is a must see and the Green Mile is the best film you will ever see and only want to watch once . I loved your reaction and look forward to seeing you react to other must see classics
Great reaction Gitana: It seems to me that you have a great understanding of human nature. For this reason, your movie reactions will be very enjoyable to watch. I recommend the Green Mile as your next movie reaction. Good luck in the future.
Great reaction G, this is truly one of the great movies and it was fun to see you have such a response to it. There will be plenty of classic recommendations being thrown at you, but "the Sixth Sense" has to be one to check out (assuming you know nothing at all about it) and I would also suggest "A Few Good Men" and "Murder in the First" for a couple of courtroom movies with some great performances. Donovan, keep pushing her into these classics 🎥
Congratulations on your first movie reaction Gitana. Thought your commentary was great and I think you really nailed the emotion of the movie. Green Mile should definitely be your follow up. You may consider a rating scale as you get further into the reactions (4 out of 5 stars etc.) If you want to try the horror genre, I'm sure your subs could give you a whole range of movies as well. Good luck and looking forward to the next one
The reason you have a hard time determining if the warden was a good guy or a bad guy in the beginning is because in the book, while Andy was there, he went through several wardens. Some of them were nice, and some weren't. The last one was particularly evil. In the movie, they just used 1 warden so he does some of the actions of all of them.
Awesome Reaction Gitana! So Stephen King is my favorite writer ever and this is my favorite movie of all time! Not just because it was based on a short story about Stephen King, but the acting was as good as it has ever been for any movie I’ve ever seen! Thanks!😃😃😃😃
Hey Gitana! Shout out from the US Marine Corps! Your reaction to this movie was priceless! If you want to see more movies like this, watch Nobody, Interstellar, Star Wars or Back to the Future. All those movies will blow your mind. Keep up the great reactions! Man From Uncle, Scarface, Nobody, and Cellular are really good watches! (I know some ppl will knock me for throwing Cellular in there but it's fun!) 44:32 Amen Girl! ❤🤍💙💛
Because men don't cry, at least in front of others. They might go into their private room and let the tears flow. But then they suck it up, bury it, and move on. They might still feel it from time to time but they don't let it win. If you see a man crying in the open, it means something so massively terrible has happened that he doesn't have enough strength left to fight it off.
When the movie did come out, it didnt really do to well, with the critics and the box office, the movie gained traction through people like youself and word and mouth, to become one of the greatest movies i have ever seen, apart from the rocky franchise, which i was brought up on through my life and my age
A good comedy to watch is called Wild Hogs. It has Martin Lawrence, Tim Allen and John Travolta, along with other faces you should recognize. It's a great movie to react to
This is one of the two best movies made from a Stephen King book. I hope your second reaction will be from the other movie from a Stephen King boo called The Green Mile.
Also a box of tissues would be advised for some of the movies. That scene with Brooks always breaks my heart 😢😢😢 Definitely the Green Mile next. It's directed by the same person the directed Shawshank Redemption and also written by Steven King Great movie to start with.
@@Kgj1966 Yeah music is a big part of the channel so I don't see that going away, as I said this was something new & fresh for the channel! Having a good mix of content on any channel on RU-vid is good!!!👍
Welcome to the world of movie reactions! I liked your reactions, even if the movie was a little chopped up (I know a certain amount of that is necessary to escape copyright strikes etc...)... Since you mentioned that you haven't watched many movies outside your narrow interests, I'd like to suggest a few (react to them, or just watch them for your own enjoyment). Star Wars (really, all of the movies, but, start with Star Wars, aka Episode IV) The Green Mile ( same director as Shawshank, and same author, Stephen King... equally good movie) The Godfather Raiders of the Lost Ark (let whether you like that be your guide on whether you watch the next one, but DO pick up Holy Grail! ) The Last Samurai. Titanic The Mummy (The one starring Brendan Fraser) Now for a more difficult choice - The Lord of the Rings trilogy... the Extended Editions. They are LONG movies, with enough characters that taking notes is not frowned upon... but, as a trilogy, they won more Oscars than almost anything else in history. The Thing (best watched in the depth of winter, in the dark...) I hope to see you reacting to more movies! Edit: Forgot to add a few - Alien, Braveheart, Saving Private Ryan, Tombstone, The Kings Speech, Gladiator, Forest Gump.... I'll stop now, the list just goes on, and on. 🙂
You're a natural movie reactor Gitana. And yes most agree this is one of the best movies they've ever seen, but there are many more extraordinary films. One of those many is "Forrest Gump", starring Tom Hanks. And if you want to venture into war genre there are some amazing creations. Another Hanks movie, "Saving Private Ryan" and the Hanks, Spielberg produced series "Band of Brothers" is superb. War movies may be the ultimate guy genre but it is hard to find more intense drama than that in those which are well done. Another came to mind, "Fury" starring Brad Pitt.
Enjoyed your reaction to Shawshank redemption, your editing was good but you don't have to blur out the scenes, none of the other reactors do it but glad to see you doing movies, You need to do Hacksaw ridge, great movie. Would enjoy seeing that reaction. God bless.
Just finished your reaction and it was a great reaction !!!....Ive watched alot of reactions and your a great reactor !!!...your not only real but also a beautiful girl as a bonus !!!....you should watch 1 of my 3 suggestions that I already gave below !!...this was Dean again from Michigan !!....am part English myself and think English women r great !!!...see u at next movie or series !!!
Really enjoying your movie reaction! At first, I thought that you were going to OVER REACT, but you settled in great. What a great movie pic! Check out the 1975 Summer Blockbuster, 'Jaws'!!! Scary, shark fun! Or, deep dive into 'The Hobbit' and 'The Lord Of The Rings' EPICS!!! Or Apacalupto is a really great movie about indigenous tribes in South America!!! I'll look forward to your movie reactions! ❤❤❤
glad you are back. alot of reactors have went from music to movies. Missed you. iF you are going too do music I request Billy Currington People Are Crazy. But for a movie The Green Mile can not be beat. Again missed you glad you are back.
You're definitely starting at the top with movie reactions. There are few movies harder to watch, yet as rewarding to watch, than this one. I'd also watch The Green Mile. Similar, yet VERY diferent than this all at once. Hmm. For something completely different? 12 Angry Men. It being in black and white may intimidate people, but its actually a gripping and interesting watch (which it wont even seem to be going in, but quickky youll see why).
Westerns..."Dances With Wolves", "Open Range", "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid", "Silverado", "True Grit", "Shane", "The Big Country", "The Cowboys" and the mini series "Lonesome Dove".
Hello Gitana!😊 Is this your first movie reaction? You did a great job!!!!👏👏👏👏 This film is actually part of an unofficial trilogy. All three films were written by Stephen King and directed by Frank Darabont (The Walking Dead). The second film is "The Green Mile" (1999). Like this film, it is INCREDIBLE, and you will need tissues!🏆 The third film is "The Mist" (2007). This film is a true King horror film. Just some suggestions for you. You should definitely continue doing films!😉
