it's disappointing that Joey didn't appear in GTA Liberty City Stories. Based on this theory, he would have gotten a great role in helping Toni during his involvement in the three-way war in the plot.
You're absolutely right :/ We see Joey as Michael Corleone in some way.. Even though he wasn't made-man to Corleones at the begining, he was quite influential nonetheless!
Luckily, in the Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories Rewrite (that is ongoing right now on FanFiction) by waters22, Joey ends up getting a role! I recommend reading the story!
Just always I thought that Joey was running car repair shop whilel earning extra money in illegal ways, but as far as Leone mafia is concerned, he didn't make a bigger role there. It's interesting what you're saying. I never looked at it from this point of view.
I thought he was a mechanic for tax purposes. But in reality, he runs his criminal empire behind the backs of his old man. Being prepared to rule the mafia when the old man comes of age.
The irony is the Leone family made a peace and became allied with the Colombian Cartel in exchange for Claude’s head. Better to deal with the big, powerful and influenced criminal organisation, not to fight with them.

Salvatore didn’t want the war with the Colombians after war with the triads, where they lost men and resources, Colombians would smear Italians like puppies. He just manipulated Claude as a small coin to save his old ass because he knew that he’ll never defeat the Cartel, he didn’t want to risk. Maria did nothing wrong, she just didn’t have a choice in this circumstances, she knew that Salvatore betrayed him, she couldn’t let him to kill him, she wished to leave Salvatore, break out from his shackles, start over a new life. And he used her “affair claim” as a reason to kill her along with him. So, don’t get you by anyone. Maria at least apologized to him and to all fault on herself even if nothing depended from her. He ordered a hit on both Claude and Maria and went to his Sex Club 7 to his harem of young girls in hopes that they both are dead. Even when Claude came to Salvatore in Last Request mission he smiled in front of him before betrayal in hopes of caustic sadistic pleasure when he’ll burn alive in the car. I see you love to defend this old scumbag like he was a man of noble and honest bloods, he promised him golden mountains, great perspectives, and this… this… this dumb pathetic witch destroyed everything! Ah! He’s such a poor and miserable old man! He’s an innocent victim of an “insidious seductress”! She was considered as disposable but she deserved so much better. And nobody defent salvatore , he is an antagonist , still is, if he was more clever, he would used claude to expend his territory all around the city. 10:00 There is a fan-made sequel to GTA 3 where we play as Joey Leone. However, in that storyline, we are betrayed and seek revenge for the betrayal. (Sorry, I don't want to spoil the mod, but you can get it online. It's been fixed, too, to work on modern PCs)

You have a lot of information about them as well as accurate details of what happened to them from the seventies until the fall in the early 2000s across three parts of the game. We think that we could definitely make such episode in the future! However, this topic will need to be discussed very widely, thus we would need to gather a lot of materials, which will take time. For now this won't be possible, but in future, for sure!
But compared to Joey's importance, Toni is much more important. He saved the organization when it nearly fall apart and saved Sal from death!!! Toni deserves to be the main Don of Leone crime family. Joey should be the underboss, capo or no involvement at all.
I figured it out around middle school a few years after people kinda quit talking about GTA III but I am damn glad that I am not the only one who put 2 and 2 together just last name alone on top of 3 to 4 missions that you have to be somewhere near the top to put the hit, call for a raid, and be somewhat a high level nuisance for everyone who isn't related to the family

In regards of this, pls make a video about on who is more likely to takeover the "Don" position in Leone Crime Family after Salvatore's death. Is it Joey Leone or Toni Cipriani? I think it would be a great topic since those two are the only people who are very closely related to Salvatore. Btw, I really hope you'll get more subscribers. You really deserved it man. We are so happy you're still discussing these kind of topic in GTA Games. The GTA community is very strong throughout the years because of these kinds of videos.

Considering that they made the protagonist based on the gta 2 Claude speed character. And the elements of gta 3 liberty city is based on the residential, commercial, and industrial districts of anywhere city. And head radio became a LC radio station from gta 2. Truly gta 2 made the step foot towards creating a well known gaming franchise from then on.
I really miss the art style and Lore of GTA 3, VC and SA…I just feel like 4 and 5 have been missing something magical, though they’ve been technical masterpieces
The PC version has skin support for 3 and if I'm remembering right Vice City has it too, haven't played in a while but I believe it's available to select in 3 along with the default outfit
It is only for PC version. It's like Claude aged after the main events. Tommy also had similar skins. There are 2 secret skins which are only available in the chinese/japan version of the game.

And, I think, for quite a long time, considering that his first Signora Leone (so respectfully addressed to a married Italian woman) gave a brith of his good son Joey in 1968, a wonderful car mechanic and, perhaps, the successor to the entire Criminal Empire, so they got married in the mid-60s, maybe in the end of 50-s, they were together for more than 10 or 20 years. I think there were trust, attention and love between them. His first wife truly loved and appreciated him the most. Just like he loved and appreciated her. But, unfortunately, by 1992 (the events of San Andreas) Sal was already a widower. It is not known why his first wife died: from a fatal illness, an accident or she was killed during the mafia wars. I’m pretty sure that the death of his first wife was a huge strike for him and damaged him good, he became a lustful womanizer and a malignant narcissist and started to look for much young girl just for his own status, prestige and power. Maria is an example. She didn’t want these relationships for the first time cause she immediately despised him in their first meeting. But he wanted her, he conquered her. And she couldn’t resist anymore. I believe that deep down, despite all his cruelty and paranoia, he continued to love his first deceased wife and spoke well of her (a conversation with Joey is an example of this), and Maria was a temporary consolation. A trophy wife, expensive property and a handy toy, which sooner or later he can safely get rid of. Sal didn’t deserve Maria. He never loved her. For all 9 years he showed no respect to her, abused, insulted, humiliated her, beat her up, treated her not as his woman, but like a toy, like a trophy, like a commodity, like a trash, like a property, he didn’t care about her, neglected and didn’t pay any attention for her, he cheated on her with strippers and hookers in JD’s brothel, later Luigi’s Club and he wished to get rid of her sooner or later as an outlived and useless toy and used goods. He just needed the right time and the right guy to do it. I’m sorry for this long and detailed explanation, but I’ll just wanted to show and proof that despite Maria’s dumb things like shoplifting, her drug addiction, cheating on Sal (yes, she is fully disfigured, messed and destroyed in LCS, she’s not an angel, she’s not exactly the saint) Sal is not poor sheep and miserable victim of “insidious seductress” but also the same culprit of these terrible relationships and why Maria made all these troubles. I don’t condone her behaviour but I can’t blame her in all troubles. Salvatore poisoned and ruined her life and after 9 years of these terrible and unhappy marriage, insults, humiliation, abuse she finally got revenge on him with help of her old friend Asuka and a silent French-American Reaper Man called Claude. She had all rights for revenge on him.
Wow, that's another juicy comment right there 😄 Just a small correction that Joey was born in 1969 (according to GTA 3 Design Doc) 🙂 While we are looking at this from your perspective, we feel that indeed losing first wife could be the reason Salvatore became disrespectful to women. After all, as you said he was mentioning Joey's mother with huge credit. Perhaps this marriage was taking place, Salvatore wasn't entirely focused on getting more influence for Leones, but more importantly he was "family friendly" and here we refer to the first part of The Godfather. Besides organising hits, extortion and so on, Vito was concerned about his family and family values. Let's not forget that Salvatore comes to Liberty City from Sicily. We think that Leone Crime Family could be an example of how The Godfather shouldn't look like. And well, Salvatore limited himself to thinking about attractiveness, beauty and having an intercourse probably - so pretty much primitive insticts. Actually, when it comes to his paranoic behaviour, we are planning to have a video on that in future, that's for sure! Nonetheless, obviously you have proved that Salvatore can't be forgiven or a saint just because he's an old man with a bit of paranoia. Everyone is giving suggestions here so I'll give mine. It would be really cool if you could make a video where you cover all mafia organizations in the gta franchise from rise to fall. I have seen a large part of the mafia story in gta in the form or small nuggets of information, but I just have no idea how to put them together. How many mafia families are there? What characters are part of what families? What are the games they appear in and what does the protagonist do for them? And everything else

The sindaccos, leones and forrellis are the three families in the 3d universe. Cant remember exactly the events against the sindaccos in gta sa and lcs but we always go against them. Claude kills two dons, mike lips forelli and salvatore leone, cj kills marco forelli and tommy kills sonny forelli, thats what i can remember out the top of my head.
@@jarlboof ok so if I understand correctly, Tommy works with the Forellis at the beginning of the game (I mean he lost them the money with that deal, idk if "works with" is the right term). Claude works for Salvatore Leone (the guy for which cj also worked for so he can rob his casino) against Sindaccos, right? Cj kills a ferroli, but I really need to know if that was before or after gta vc, and Rosenberg ends up either from vice city to las venturas or vice versa, but since he retired in gta sa, I guess gta vc happens first. Also what is his role in all of this?
@@BEN-ys6gu ok so, yeah tommy used to be part of the forellis, but sonny tried to kill him by setting him up, that was back in 1971 in Harwood liberty city, he got arrested and released in 1986 where he continued to work for sonny but only as an associate. He later kills sonny and starts his own empire. Gta sanandreas takes place in 1992, so ken Rosenberg worked with cj after working for tommy, he originally was the lawyer for the forellis, but since he was also with tommy when they lost the money, he had to work with tommy and became his right hand, he got into cocaine and tommy sent him to rehab, when he got out, he called tommy but he didnt answer and then came the events of gta sa
It's a shame they didn't expand on Joey after Salvatore's death. Presumably, he would have been the new Don of the Leone family, and probably would've had an idea who capped his father
All I have to say about Joey, other than I like him, is that I'm just seeing Agent Don Self (Michael Rapaport) from Prison Break instead of a GTA character lol
Fun fact: this character is based off of my Sicilian ex-girlfriend's dad. They share a name, appearance, and he has a chop shop in game because the name of his band in real life is The Chop Shop.
Joey has no influences in his father's crime organization. He is a bloody guy but he is not a mobster. He has problems with small gangs especially the Forelli brothers. Joey's missions were mostly on destroying the Forellis and the Triads. He told Claude to kill the Triad's boss and the boss of the Forelli gang. As Curly Bob told to Catalina and Miguel, Joey is no important person in his father's criminal empire but he has his own little problems which involves violence. He is on the war with the Forelli gangs(Some money problems). He has no intentions of becoming the Don of the Leone family. He is supposed to but I think the Leones mostly want Toni Cipriani to be the Don. He literally carried the whole empire, saved Salvatore and the Leones from many wars. He saved them from the Sindaccos and the war with the Diablos. Toni is the most important member of the Leones. He is also Sal's right hand man. Joey mentioned Toni to be his pop(Salvatore's) capo. Toni is very high ranked and has very close relationship with Sal. He was a captain in Lcs but became a high ranking capo in III. He has more rank and respected than Luigi. Toni Cipriani is the rightful and worthy Don of the Leone family.

Forelli were the most powerful before death of Sonny Forelli in 1986. It became the beginning of decline of the Forelli Crime Family. They were knocked out from Las Venturas in 1992, weakened by destroying Fort Staunton in 1998 and finally wiped out for good in 2001.

If LCS was the rise of the Leone, III became the decline of the Leone. Time has put everything at its place and Uncle Leone’s prediction “Every dog has its day” came true. 3 years later Leone lost the name of the most influenced and powerful criminal organisation, remaining one of the strongest, they lost territories, they started another wars with Triads and remnants of Forelli, the Colombian Cartel has risen to Liberty City’s Criminal Olympus, Leone wiped out Forelli easily but won a Pyrrhic victory on Triads, losing soldiers and resources and showing that they’re not organised anymore, Toni became fat and finally became momma’s boy, throne of Liberty City’s Kingpin swayed beneath Salvatore, and his paranoia, narcissism, megalomania, distrust to everyone, endless lust for power and following the rule “Betray first before you could be betrayed” clouded his judgment and made him lost his mind. And he found his fatal fate from silent French-American Reaper Man whom he hired and from whom he decided to get rid of when he outlived his usefulness. His fate was sealed. There’s nothing depended from one unhappy, suffering and exhausted trophy lady. During LCS walkthrough I was very pleased to see how Sal was tortured, how he suffers. Manipulated Toni Cipriani and tricked him paying him just half-million instead of one or two for doing all crazy stuff to make the Leone Family the most powerful criminal organisation and Salvatore as a Liberty City Kingpin (not for long, but in 2001 Sal’s throne swayed beneath him, Leone lost influence and power). 2. Manipulated Claude and betrayed him because of his paranoia, distrustful to outsiders and Claude’s outliving usefulness. You can start a butthurt on me, you can criticise me, you can hate me, you can attack me, you can take a huge barrel of dirt on me, but… 1. Poisoned and ruined Maria’s life.
The Forellis were already weak. Yes, killing the last boss of the weakened and nearly destroyed Forelli gang would give Salvatore Leone the opportunity to take full control of St. Marks and the bistro. But Joey personally did it for his own. The Forellis owe him a lot of money but they didn't give him for a long time. So, he planned to take revenge by finishing their last boss. He also murdered one of their underbosses and Claude has to take it to the car crusher while getting chased by the Forelli gang.
