A significant use is in plastics... everything from TVs, clothes, specs, paint, surgical equipment to furniture etc. We will still import oil for transport etc from the Middle East. Our leaders have been so insane on this. We have 50 years of natural gas supply under our feet, but they continue to buy from foreign dictatorships. We have our own oil, but continue to buy from dictatorships. The inflation wave of 2022/23 would have been reduced considerably.
