Coming back 18 years later?? In this video we take a look the recent release of the air max 1 crepe hemp and look into why this is such a pleasing shoe to release but what is also wrong with the retro.
In short we visit the pros of this release which include the materials and colors but also discuss the cons, such as the price and general QC the feels undelivered on Nike's end.

I have this shoe and it's super comfy. However, that swoosh color made me hate the sneaker. I redid everything color wise.

I bought these through snkrs and had to exchange the first pair they sent me b/c the left shoes mudguard looked like a jagged mountain top and not the cleans wave that it should’ve been. It wasn’t shaped right and looked like someone In their QC Dept fell asleep 😆 The second pair they sent me were on point, no issues with them and am happy that I was able to get them in my collection

Great video as always!! Whenever I see a good airmax release, I already know that I am gonna see a review on them from you soon hahah. Had to pass on these though due to the retail and the crepe outsole just doesn't do it for me :(

Got mine off the SNKRS app and mine had no quality control issues no glue marks etc they are 99.9% spot on for build quality i got these because i liked them and that's what counts for me, no they don't look like a potato sack anymore but like you say they were never meant to be a 1 to 1 copy

Im planning to buy a pair since they are $90 right now. I wear size 10 in airmax 270. Should I size up or tts on this?

imo stick to your true size. I don't know how the 270 fits but am1 are very forgiving, they're not as snug as other air max models

tbh i haven't cleaned them / own them. If i'm honest i'd look into the material itself and search "how to sell". So cleaning tips for the hemp area itself vs the suede.

they're pretty good but aren't as durable as normal rubber soles. You can get a lot of wears out of them but they can crumble with age. I think this was a huge issue with the original crep am1s

I would say I have somewhat wide feet. I’m a US10.5 in other Air Max 1s and I’m a US11 in Air Max 97. Would you recommend going TTS or going up to 11. Thanks

I would go with your normal am1 size. If i was actively looking for a pair it's what i would do to be safe.

Awful retro in my opinion, nothing like the original. Materials are different, colours are off, even the laces are the cheap elastic kind. They are a let down completely.

Tbh I don’t think they set out to make a 1 to 1 copy. They just tackled it using the materials Nike has at its disposal. Crazy how things have changed over the course of 15 years tho

Lol they are so well made and gorgeous in person. And the materials are nicer than the original. They replaced the old hemp which became an ugly mess quickly… The new material is light and strong and breathable

100%. It's hard to do retros right and tbh I think they didn't do a bad job with these. I'll be on the look out for returned pairs at the outlets cus that 180 was a little steep.

with how terrible nike QC can be, I thinking finding a pair in person and buying them is like the best thing you can do.
