Definitely recommend the small rig baseplate, it hasn't left my camera since I got it. As a bonus I think it actually makes the camera look even better too!
I actually just received mine yesterday, even tho I like it and it looks really cool, I can't put it on my Peak Design tripod without adding the PD baseplate as well on it which makes it even more bulky so that sucks :(
@@KaanSenel really? Do they use a proprietary baseplate? Like the square ones from the clips? That's odd... It's working great on all my arca swiss clamps!
Yeah indeed, the square one's. I could change it to a video mount ballhead thingy, I might actually do that since I find the current one from Peak Design too restricting, but only if I actually find the base plate that useful, still gotta test it properly!

lol I did the same thing! Was with Lumix S5II twice and decided to come back Sony. Currently have the Sony A7Cii with Tamron 20-49, Sony 85 and Sony 50. Love the compact form factor and the A7IV sensor is one of my favorites for hybrid shooting!
Hahaha what a coincidence. I still love the S5II but ecosystem wise, support from accessories and lenses is just unbeatable with Sony and the autofocus is the best as well
Yes, I still love Lumix colors and image, but unfortunately their AF just isn’t Sony level yet. Specially when shooting in crowds and AF tracking. Sony just excels at AF. Ecosystem wise, Sony wins too. Lenses on Lumix (minus the primes) are just large and cumbersome.
Welcome to the dark best side again, SONYYYY ! I really loved Fuji for photography, the xt2 was my first real cam. But Sony its truly the king atm for video and hybrid stuff. The a7CII look really cool to use ! You just made me want some nex gear now 🤣 Nice vid dude
Hahahaha indeed. I honestly should've never sold my A7S3, it was such a beast... Even tho Sony kinda did us dirty. Anyway, glad I'm back, Sony stays undefeated and I absolutely love how I can make a workhorse out of this setup or keep it small!
The Sony lacked so much control and video features. I don't use 4k 120fps and the 4k60 crop isn't a big deal. Lol the lenses aren't heavy lol did I hear a sneak diss😂😂😂
I keep my Sony A7 IV because I can use cheap lenses from Viltrox and Tamron 😅 But really, it cannot compare to shooting with the Lumix S5IIx. Open gate, white balance settings in video… unbeatable
The shooting experience with the Lumix is great! But the AF from Sony, form factor, brand support (lenses and accessories) is simply unbeatable. Open gate shooting is not that important for me since I don't crop for vertical anyway so... I'd still recommend the s5II to people based on their needs tho
@@KaanSenel definitely, each camera has its pros and cons and we are lucky to have so many choices. I personally don’t need autofocus (I grew up focusing manually on F1 cars with a film camera and a 300mm lens…) and I enjoy more the video tools from Panasonic. But if I only have to bring one camera in a leisure trip I choose the Sony A7 IV and the Tamron 28-200mm
I was about to have lumix s5ii but after watching this i am gonna have a7cii or a7c just because the lenses i have, lumix bodies are cheap but lenses are double at price, built quality is really good but clients never see what gear i am using. And also the resale thing, i use gears till manufacturers warranty then i buy latest gears, and love to buy lenses... Panasonic cameras are good but still not for me... BTW thanks for the video..
Hey man, the S5II would be a great option as well, I loved the cam, but for a couple of tiny reasons I switched to Sony again. Just the reasons I mentioned. The S5Ii is still better in some regards such as IBIS, video features etc
@@KaanSenel I've got an A7iv now and while I don't need the extra mp I would appreciate having them. For me when using a small body I use a small prime and the extra MP allow me to get more out of a prime lens when it comes to apsc crop modes and just croping in general
Debating between a7c II or a7 IV I don’t care about cII only having one sd card slot. Which do you think would be best in the long run to grow into it (amateur skill right now)
It honestly all comes down to personal preference of the form factor. I absolutely love the silver body, and how small you can keep this kit! Also keep in mind that this is a newer camera, so it has improved AF and will probably be supported longer in terms of updates etc. I'd go for the A7CII 🫡
@@engineer4862 haha, I’m confident I won’t switch for a long time anymore. It does everything I need it to. The s5II was great as well tho, the switch wasn’t really necessary
Do you do photography or videography for a living? And if so how has the A7CII held up for professional work? Im also wondering does it ever overheat when shooting video? Great video keep it up :)
Hi Noah, thanks for watching! I work as a content creator at a car company where I use my A7CII and I've never had any issues with it in terms reliability. When I'm recording a YT vid and the camera's recording for a longer time, I do find the camera heating up a bit, but that's not a bad thing necessarily. I've read about this somewhere else and found that this is a sign that the camera is better at spreading the heat all over the body instead of keeping the internals warm, which is a good thing. It's not that it becomes extremely hot, you can just feel it become a bit 'hotter'. I'm really enjoying my experience with this tiny beast so far, hope this helps! Lmk if you have any more questions
Instead of moving back to Sony you could have moved to Nikon Z8. It’s a way more better camera than whatever Sony has to offer in terms of Photos and video.
They are tools indeed, but if I can find a better tool for my purpose and goals, why not switch? I enjoyed the Lumix, but the support in terms of lens manufacturers, accessories etc with Sony is just incomparable.
