it primary about being torn between two different side and two different loyalties and loves - I suppose you could look at the whole things that the older Barbara is singing the song just before she has to make a choice between the two sides of her life - the younger Barbara is her throughout the years struggling to balance both side of her teenage Barb and Batgirl. The story at the end was accidental and made me think (what if Gordon had died because Batgirl choose to save someone else and could be there to save him? What if, know who she was, he didnt care because he knew Batman would care for her if he wasnt there? Silly but still....looks that way)
Basically Barbara feels guilty over being Batgirl and betraying her father and going behind his back. Also she is in love with batman (NOT AS A TEEN! That's why I have the clips of her OLDER -And it doesn't always have to be a physical/romance love) and feels like she being torn between her duty to Gotham, Batman & Batgirl and her love& loyalty for her father and being 'normal' Barbara Gordon.
Her father knows, she knows he knows and she hates herself all the more because he doesn't say a word about, even though she's killing him with her actions shes putting herself into a danger he wanted to get rid off. She wishes he would hate her/be mad instead of saying nothing, so she could be spared choosing between two people she cares about. Because it causes her pain, more than she can say....Batman doesn't want to hurt either of them because he loves her and Gordon is his friend but he won't choose for her.
