No. My No4Mk2 POF (1959Prod) has the adjustable ladder sight as shown here. The grove diameter is .308 as well. There were late war production No4’s. That had the two position sights. My two No4 Mk1* (Savage 1943 Prod) both had ladder sights. As well.

That's a No. 4 Mk. 2, manufactured in Nov 1954 at ROF Fazakerley. They all have flip-up aperture/ladder sights. The Mk. 1 started out with the same type of sight but later on that was changed to the two-position aperture sight you're referring to, to reduce costs/complexity. That one was known as the "mk. 2 sight". I'm guessing that's where the confusion may lie. You can also tell this is a mk. 2 by the hole in the stock above the trigger. On the mk. 1, that's a notch and you can see part of the receiver underneath it.
