On Wednesday 17th July, UNFPA is hosting a high-level global event to launch the Making All Spaces Safe Programme, which will include representatives from UNFPA, the Governments of Benin, Canada and Kenya as well as civil society partners.
The Making All Spaces Safe Programme, supported by Global Affairs Canada, seeks to fill existing gaps in programming to address Technology-facilitated Gender-based Violence (TF GBV). The Programme aims to ensure women and girls in all their diversity can enjoy the benefits of technology, free from violence. The programme will be implemented by the UNFPA Programme Division, led by the Gender and Human Rights Branch, and UNFPA Country Offices in Benin and Kenya. It will address TF GBV by implementing activities across five pillars: response, prevention, law and policy, research and evaluation, and convening efforts. The planned activities build on the extensive work of UNFPA in addressing GBV in over 150 countries worldwide.
