Personally, the best thing about Harry Potter is it resonated with so many people to the point that it created this entire community that built upon the series through fanfiction and beautiful art and made it this insanely inclusive, safe, welcoming space. Fanfiction authors and artists have done way more in developing the story and understanding the characters than Rowling did and it’s such a joy to see. Why even bother supporting a bigoted asshole when instead, you can put money towards hundreds of people across the world who pour time, effort, love and support into the things they create? Also side note: I appreciate the pure chaos of this video haha.

i havent finished this video yet but since im doing my college work alongside watching i wanted to write down my thoughts before i inevitably forget by the end. i will edit this comment if my thoughts have changed by the time i finish or if i have anything to add. about the harry potter point. i personally like to think of it this way: I strongly dislike and disagree with jk rowling, i honestly dont even like the books as she wrote them anymore. going back and trying to reread them more critically has made me notice so many flaws in the world and the characters that i just cant stand beside and call the books good inspite of. so i dont. will i still proudly call myself a slytherin despite that? yes. but thats because i love the fandom. (the good aspects of the fandom not the transphobic, homophobic and racist side) i honestly dont even check if how ive interpreted the world of harry potter is accurate to the books anymore because i dont care. i like what the fandom has done to change the "cannon" and so i swing with that. one might even say thats just me preferring "fannon". but yeah anyway ramble over.

Just build or buy more bookshelves. More space means more books, more books means happier life!

I love JK Rowling, guess I won’t be subscribing.
