This is a collection of shared experiences that we as black people go through in a community dominated by white people. This is simply just a glimpse of what we go through. I want to thank Robert Johnson, Robert Tullounge, Anabelle Titus, Jayla Bryant and the rest of the black student union for making this possible. Your voices will not go unheard.

Thanks for doing this yall. Sacred heart alumni here and as another commenter so kindly pointed out, SHU can provide a great education. But just as important is the support system, and it just wasn’t there when i was attending. It really was isolating at times, and seeing someone else corroborate their experience about the underhanded comments that you get is so relieving. My friends would think i was crazy when i described something like that to them. Its so uplifting to see you guys not only validating my experience, but working to make it better.

Just toured as a dark skin Mexican and felt very out of place. This solidified my choice and will be touring other schools. Not a good feeling. I wish you guys luck and hope your voice is heard ❤️❤️

Worked there for 16 years! Wasn’t always predominantly white but after Dr. Cernara got pushed out and they threw in him hell broke loose! Mansion across from the school built! Public Safety required an all white department after moving successfully mixed since the 60’s! Good Luck Brother!!

Your in a good school getting a good education. Stop the moaning… You don’t see white or Asian people complaining about lack of diversity in predominantly black universities.

What are talking about? A group of Asians are suing Yale and Harvard because they feel like that are getting shut out of admissions due to their race. However, they have to be fair to other people (whites, blacks, hispanics, etc). So other ethnic backgrounds are in your words "moaning". The way you think, concerning the group of Asians, they have other school choices they shouldn't be "moaning" because Yale or Harvard did not let them in.

It's important to recognize that diversity and inclusion are crucial components of any learning environment. While attending a good school and receiving a good education are certainly important, it doesn't mean that we should turn a blind eye to the lack of diversity or equity in our educational institutions. Moreover, it's important to acknowledge that systemic racism and historical injustices have created disparities in access and opportunities for marginalized communities. It's not about "moaning," but rather about advocating for more inclusive and equitable systems for all students regardless of their race or ethnicity. And while it may be true that predominantly black universities may not have as much racial diversity, it doesn't mean that we shouldn't strive for more diversity and inclusivity in all educational settings. After all, the benefits of a diverse learning environment are well-documented and can lead to better academic outcomes for all students.

@@jazzlives6994that’s completely different. Asians are being excluded from those Ivy leagues. African Americans are not at Sacred Heart University. You talk about fairness about having a certain percentage of each race within a job or university, etc. How is it fair for the Asian students who study for hours on end to try to get into those ivy leagues and get denied because there are too many Asians in the school even though their grades are better than their black counterparts. Affirmative action seems like a great idea but when you really think about it, it is racist in it’s depths

@@jazzlives6994also if you want racism to cease one day, it will never happen if you make everything about race. You intentionally create the divide between black, asian, white, hispanic. See through the skin color and realize humans are not so different from each other regardless of skin color
