HEY YOU ABOUT TO POST SOMETHING STUPID:
Yes, I know my hands are large/fat. It's because of a heart condition I suffer from called Congestive Heart Failure. Here's a link to some information about CHF: cle.clinic/2TdS2Ux
One of the symptoms is that is causes fluid retention, mostly in the hands, feet/ankles, and face.
It will kill me one day. I'm doing ok right now, but someday...

A great honest review of a low end but perhaps a good starter scope.

Nice starter scope. Good shielding. Simply software interface, similar to my analog scope.

Was it the scope or the generator that a signal at 20 Mhz was looking so bandwidth limited?The power supply looks pretty good, but I’m surprised that there was no shielding between that and the signal board - after seeing the huge metal box. I think the metal box was mostly shielding for FCC versus protection of the signal board;) I agree, the usable screen is small - even the boarder on the left is way bigger than what it is needed. So, yes the firmware seemed to have had little effort:(
@learnelectronics
@learnelectronics 4 года назад
I think it was the scope. For the generator I was using the Siglent Oscilloscope Demo board. It's pretty wide open. Everything lacking on this scope is firmware related. They could have added additional triggers so easily. Just a poor effort. IMO

Hi Paul, wondering if you can give me some advise, I'm looking to buy an oscilloscope, I want to buy something that's not too cheap but not too expensive, my budget is 600 dollars, I was leaning towards the Siglent SDS1104X-E 100Mhz, would you recommend anything else that is better for around 500 to 600 ?thanks in advance.Alex.

This scope is same as Tenma 72-8710. I have this UTD2102CEX and it work fine for job what I need scope. This menu on screen right side can be hidden and you can see waveform on full screen. Inside menu settings you have many options for adjusting waveform, screen and measuring parameters as additional settings. Any channel cn be separate adjusted as trigger and math. PC software is simple and fast.

I just bought a UTD2025CL. Im a beginner and just trying to learn about circuits, mainly audio-related. I´ve had misaligned/half working Advance and Telequipment scopes (Analog) but after getting the UTD2025CL i was happy to just have a working scope that i seem to understand in it´s "simplicity". I was planning to use it while repairing a couple of old Telefunken-style solid state amplifiers. Do you think i should worry in using it for these purposes? Should i align my Telequipment DM64 instead? Thanks for the video. Liked and subscribed :) Peace!

That ADSP-BF531 can be programmable up to 128M bytes of SDRAM external memory and ADSP-BF531 also have JTAG port which is very nice. Also ADSP-BF531 is pin and firmware compatible with ADSP-BF533 with 50% more clock frequency (600MHz vs. 400MHz). I have weird dreams in my mind. ;) :)

It seems to me: The probe was still set to x1. Higher frequencies need x10. (If the DSO is fed by a probe, of course. Direct connected to a signal generator the ratio should be x1.) Strange... -That would be a typical trap for young players...

Hello Paul. I am interesting in acquiring a home oscilloscope and am interested in this model. Thank you four review. Do you think it is worth the money? I think it is around 250 bucks. Should I look for another model or perhaps a vintage analogue scope, even with a smaller banwidth, like 35 MHz? Thanks a lot.

I'm about like you on this scope. What to say other than a few spars words. I came really close to ordering one about 2 years ago just as a second or standby replacement. Glad I didn't, thanks for the review and teardown. Looks as though if you were doing a very serious repair and you weren't that adept at translating some of those wave forms, it might get you into serious trouble trying to true/align a circuit that needed a precise % in tolerance. If I needed a true sq and got a sine or sawtooth and didn't know any better! At least a Hantek will give you the expected wave. Might have a bit of a ring but that's minor compared. Thanks, hope you've been doing okay. I've been playing the poker face with my docs lately too!

I got a 50mhz version of this scope, cost about £150, nothing else available for a cheap basic scope at this price in the UK. Does a reasonable job for a basic budget low end scope and simply better than nothing for little money.

If it's built at the same level of this unit it is beautifully well made for what it is: a complete encasing rear shield, a ventilation fan, an abundant power supply although with I suspect wet SMD caps that will go bad in 3, 2, 1 years, NOW. They've all gone bad and need replacing... at least that's what I expect from that kind of caps and the reason why probably I am buying such an oscilloscope in the first place, to see the ripple induced signal from that kind of failing hardware.

Uni-T always had a bad rap when it came to software, good DMMs, bad function generators, scopes, etc. As far as scopes are concerned, spending an extra $150 or so makes all the difference, IMHO. Look at the specs on the Siglent SDS1202X-E. A world of difference.
