Senior hurdler Sebastian Barth highlighted the UNI Team Invitational today after breaking the school record in the 60 meter hurdles along with tying for the best mark in NCAA Division I track and field this season.
Barth has been setting personal-bests all season long in the 60 hurdles and continued to do so today. He broke the school record with his preliminary time of 7.79, besting the previous record that was set in 2007 by Jarrel Anderson. He followed it up with a blazing time of 7.72 to tie for the fastest time in the country for the win.
Barth’s record wasn’t the only UNI record to go down today, with Libby Torresani setting a new school record in the pole vault. She beat her previous record of 13-4.50 that she set last season with a huge personal-best mark of 13-5.25.
Brandon Carnes continued his winning ways in both the men’s 60 meter and 200 meter dashes, setting a new personal-best in the 200 meters with a time of 21.59. He also finished with a time of 6.73 in the 60 meter dash finals, continuing to run the fastest times in the Missouri Valley Conference this season.
