This is still missing a lot of what I wanted to cover, so lemme just put some extra stuff in bullet points:
-You can assault over 236A/B, but not 236C, so it covers the midrange pretty well.
-236C can be used to keep 4C gapless/safe/plus on block, so if you're using 4C vs a character with 100 meter and a horizontal reversal, it can be worth it to spend 236C to plug the gap. 4C gets pretty expensive to use at all in those cases. 4C 22C is still -14, so don't bother (womp womp).
-It's possible to confirm off of icicle rain at further ranges if they get counterhit in the air.
-Icicle rain can be used to make your rising jA/jC OS's safe either on whiff or block. Check out the "Defensive Measures" doc linked below for more info on that.

I touched on it briefly, but you really really really don't want to let the opponent have 100 meter for free if they're a character that only gets defensive options with meter (Merkava, Carmine, Waldstein, etc). This is really the time to lean into meterless blossom oki, which is still good on its own. 350 extra damage is NEVER worth giving the opponent the means to stop your momentum. Because IW damage is so high and you get a 25 meter refund for using EX moves in vorpal, it's so much better to backload your damage to your third hit in a round. An ideal round could look like:
1. Get a hit, end in freeze oki
2. Get a second hit from a shimmy, spend 100 meter
3. Use CS to safely run offense/bait their reversal, finish with another 100 meter or IW
Where applicable, cutting combos short to prevent your opponent from reaching 100 meter can be JUST as valuable IF NOT MORE VALUABLE than cutting combos short to win vorpal (depending on the MU). You are at diminishing returns at the end of a combo of damage dealt vs meter gained by the opponent, so just keep that in mind.
