Very close FT10 that all came down to 1 decision. In case you're wondering, yes this matchup still sucks.

But why this matchup sucks?

His 2A stagger pressure is amazing, which means churning out 360's is very risky. He can Tatsu/214 at any point in pressure, which is airborne. Another reason that makes 360's risky. He overall has superior frame data, making him hard to contest with standard buttons. He has a frame 1 parry, so even if he's minus, we have to keep in mind that he can do this at any time. We can't punish B-Tatsu unless we shield the 3rd hit AND spend meter (unless he horribly mis-spaces it, which good players won't). He can also make it safe in a variety of ways, which makes even attempting to punish it difficult. Just contesting B-Tatsu at all sucks, it has an amazing hitbox that usually beats anything else.

@@utcaFGC From my point of view, "he just does it". I'd suggest really studying what Squish does because I don't play Akatsuki enough to really pinpoint exactly what he's doing to get in. Or unless you have a specific timestamp you'd like me to view, then I can explain whatever interaction you see.

@utcaFGC Wald has to consciously babysit b tatsu in neutral since it will casually clip his big ass normals on whiff and his big ass hurtbox. So Akatsuki can just play a typical neutral and work his way into a spacing where b tatsu isn't reactable with something like Wald 5b and then a lot of his options at that range get stronger

@utcaFGC , tbh his dash is really good for this match-up since it has a set distance, and he can perfectly dash block any attempts of us playing neutral and, if we play offensively it's really really really scary because 6C can just out right say get fucked and it's his best starter Overall, neutral is just how patiently dash block throw out a A or Bstatsu every now and then that's how I see it Oh and also frame 1 parry means no clap pressure
