wieder mal ein tolles EV von Unicat. Alles drin, alles dran was man braucht. Winde vielleicht noch. Falls ich es doch noch schaffe das nötige Kleingeld zusammen zu bekommen schaue ich auf jeden Fall bei Unicat vorbei.
So awesome! Your Products are top level! According to the torsion... Am I right by saying that a MAN TGM 4x4 is more offroad capable than the exact same (Wheelbases not engine) MAN TGS 4x4, because of the better twisting chassis? Or are they on the same level?
Offroad capability includes a lot of different components. Chassis twist is one, ground cleaarance another one, tire size, tire pressure and also engine power helps a lot in specific situations. Therefore, clearly the TGM has advantages in chassis twist, but the TGS has more torque and power. In some offroad situations the TGM is bettter, in others, the TGS s better.
I absolutely love this because usually when filming this people use a lot of camera tricks to make it look wider and bigger (like fish eye, etc) but right here you can see the actual proportions of the living unit and it's actually not bad at all. I appreciate the realness. 👌
Great video and very informative as well. That RV looks amazing and the interior looks very functional for family use. Thank you for sharing that incredible unit 👍😊
+1. What a rugged beauty. The UNICAT Expedition rigs would be at home in the Colorado Rocky Mountain terrain. Cheers, Vail, Colorado. P.S., The older 2015 Terracros TC59 has spec'd a ZF 8sp gearbox; Question? Are there Dual Clutch automatics developed for HD truck use? .. Allison Transmission, Volvo 12sp automatic as examples for buses. .. Are there any HD automatics? . Just curious.
WOW!!!! This video is absolutely impressive, I love the demonstration, so specific. This is why UNICAT is such a serious brand. The Craftsmanship and explanation behind it's vehicles, makes them valuable. Thank you for sharing and showing us the vehicles capabilities.
Si me saco la lotería te compro uno yá para recorrer Argentina !! Los sigo siempre sería bueno la traducción al español gracias saludos desde San Juan Argentina
Another great video Thomas. I appreciated the segment on body twist (or lack thereof) while driving at speed. My past comments on body sway were based upon a video I saw of a UNICAT TC52 (?) in Canada. The reviewer took a video looking back through the cab access opening while driving on a smooth road. The sway was significant and according to the driver - unnerving. I watched another video from the owner of a GXV Safari Extreme (also an International chassis) who made the same comment. Perhaps this is more to do with the International chassis as your video clearly shows a very stable ride on the MAN TGM. Thanks again.
Hi Duncan, I don´t know about that video from Canada. The International 7400 chassis works quiet well, I wouldn´t say that its a bad chassis. Of course, tires have to be balanced and at correct pressure, with unbalanced tires or washed out tires, any vehicle will behave like a rodeo horse.
@@thomasritter1470 You make good points. Perhaps there were other variables that the video or the reviewer did not reveal. It was an interview with a fellow called Avi Meyers. In the case of the GX Vehicle, it was an anecdotal comment made by the owner. Something to the effect of "It's like driving a giant marshmallow - and took some getting used to"). In any case, I would choose a Western Star 4800 over an International. They are far superior in terms of overall quality. :)
Hi Thomas. Great video. I have met other overlanders with three point (4 point) from high end builders that have complained of unnerving body sway. Perhaps you need to drive on a more undulating road that a 5 star German road? And are you saying that three point is the only correct way (and the spring method is not)? Dave
Hi Dave, the complain waas that there is sway when you drive fast on a good road - which is not true. f you are on a bad track, of course there are all kind of movements, but they are there no matter what subframe you use. And yes, 3-point s the only correct way. The spring method is still creaing forces between chassis and body which you don´t want - and which simply do not exist with a 3-point system.
Bellos vehículos, mucho buen trabajo hay detrás de cada modelo!!!!. A trabajar en motores alternativos o el negocio se pondrá muy complejo en el mediano plazo. Suerte y saludos desde Chile
What is the size of this tyres? Looks easy. And what is the most easy size to find anywhere on this "kind of big " tyres? I am looking for a veicle like this and I am studying the options . Thanks
@@thomasritter1470 thanks 🙏🙏 Let me make a suggestion for another video. The most wanted video on expedition trucks that aren't available . The costs of ownership of a expedition truck. Fixed costs, costs of liveabord, of expedition . Because this costs are very variable depending on kind of vehicle , km done, country visited and so on... if possible, more simple, give an example of some expedition done, or someone that could share this information of one year on his truck. I think this is the most important video to clarify some "ghosts" of traveling . Once again, thanks for your time and answers
I'm one step closer to building mine, completely out of debt as of last week.. Thank you cryptocurrency Sadly it's not yet worth enough to buy one of these so I still have to build it myself. Thomas.. what chassis would you recommend for a 7m long hab unit? (Maybe I can shorten the design in my head by also pulling a garage / workshop / range extender trailer) but I want it comfortable for full time living without too many compromises. On another note, what's the depreciation like on one of these. As I need to shush the nagging as to whether I should be building a bricks and mortar home instead of one with wheels.
@@thomasritter1470 Was thinking single cab high top (presumably High top allows you to put a taller pass through door so you don't have to go on hands and knees to go from cab to hab?) Great info thanks for the reply, was already assuming 6x6, they look better than 4x4 in my opinion :-D Crypto has gone nuts again today so I'm buying a car first :-D if this carries on I maybe be giving you a call after all :-o Made 26k since I got up this morning.. I just can't fathom :-)
