I can't believe there are people who aren't happy with this board. I've been playing it since the end of 2014. and I still use it. Beautiful board I HAVE THIS VERY SAME BOARD.I BUY IT BETWEEN 11-12 MONTH 2014 I have to add that there are a lot of errors in this dashboard that you are reviewing, mine was in excellent condition
I think dart boards are a bit of a lottery now I have had more experiences with them, there is no easy way to be consistent with them when they are using natural fibres.
Unicorn really need to get there act together when it comes to dartboards every board ive had from them has had some sort of fault mainly with the bullseye ring being of center. I will admit its a nice board to play on. But much prefer blade 4 and dual core.
some guy im playing darts with bought that board like 4 years ago. its still perfect - with shitloads of use. i heard that there are some black sheeps aswell, but from my experience this is a pretty solid board. we aint no pros or sth. - but we used to play some legs every now and then doe. would say approx. >10 000 darts did hit it, and the darts still stick pretty neat. there are no fringe or brittle parts aswell, and its still in a good overall shape. would recommend to everyone, even doe there are newer versions available aswell. i actually have some factory new eclipse pro in cushion, since its quality did please everyone i met so far, and i was able to get it for like 25€ in sales. another guy i know had some winmau, and it looked horrible after like 6 months already. so tldr: eclipse pro is good imo - but i aint no dart-pro however.
I think the Unicorn boards were very decent at one time but the last few years have been a mixed bag, not sure why, some people get a good one but a lot of people have had some duffers but I think they also started to get them made in a different factory so that could be partly the reason.
No worries at all just found out about eccles rather shocking, so I understand why a review would not really be very appropriate... Was just intrigued by the atomised grip.. Only darts I have thrown with similar grip was the barneveld machinas and they were awesome darts... May have a look at getting another set of them...
Just got one ..always used the blade boards but can't really justify the extra cost , cos I'm a bit crap ... Blade board in iceland would set me back nearly 80 quid
Had a few of these boards, and I honestly like the density of the sisal, but have to say unicorns quality control has to be better as everyone I had has had minor imperfections mainly being the bullseye being slightly of centre, over all a very good board.. Would not recommend gripper dart points though as points seem to pull sisal out more than winmau or other boards.
Yeah I think the sisal has a very compact but soft feel to it, I was playing round the board on doubles today and on some of the doubles I could barely hear it hitting the board it was similar to the sound the dart makes when it hits the surround a kind of soft squidgy sound. There is a few areas that seem a little too soft but not many. The spider is pretty good and nice and flush to the surface which I like but there was a couple of areas that had some marks on sisal as if something has been sat on top of the board, its smooth off a little now and I guess I wont notice it when its got a few holes in. But I don't think Unicorn are the only ones that have this issue of quality control as reading round the net you seem to get many varying opinions on lots of different boards.
It's a good board in general and my main board I practice on, had a Hd one too but in all honesty hated it the paint chipped of the spider within a few weeks and noticed alot of the sisal seemed to come loose in the board.. After a couple of months play it looked really worn, not that good when your spending a good £40 or more on them...
Yeah I had that problem with mine a little, pretty tempted to try the Hd TV edition board with the silver spider... Can I ask you if you have ever reviewed any tony Eccles darts and if so what you thought of them, always wanted to try the atomised ones!
I have tried them and I think I have a set unopened some where, not so sure a review will be popular in light of his recent conviction, but it was a long while ago when I tried them and cant remember too much about them other than they felt kind of smooth to me.
:) its stuck in a case now as battery ran out and I have been to lazy to replace it lol, most of my watches are like that, get worn until the battery dies, I really should sort them out! :)
Currently £25 in the UK, Blade 5 are about £40. Say you get through 3 boards per year, you save about £45. So just under two Unicorn Eclipse Dartboards. Worth it.
Played this new board for 3 weeks. Spider came out over 3/8 inches from the surface and created many bounce outs. Unicorn basically told me to "f off" and didn't stand behind their product. I recommend not buying this inferior board. Although these boards have the word "England" printed on them, they are made in China. Barry Hearn needs to renegotiate a proper board for the PDC.
+TheOklep Depends how many hours you play each day but if you play about 2 hours there is no reason why a good board cant last you a year or more, also dont use gripper points as it pulls the fibres out.
@@DartsReviewChannel I asked this way. In the country I live in, only winamu boards are popular. Galdiator 3 is very hard to find. I can only order online but it may cost me expensive with customs tax.

+Vijae K Hi, there is not a lot you need to do really. Its just a case of turning the board regularly depending how much you play. Most people turn by 2 segments every week or 2. Thats it, it just helps even out the wear :)

No, never spray it with anything! If you live in a hot arid climate then a very fine mist of water may help but its generally not recommended to spray anything on a board and if you have it in a location where its next to a heat source then it would be best to move it.

I bought a Viper League dartboard their total crap it's hard as a rock I could throw my Dart really really hard at the board and most times they don't stick it just barely goes in even with 26 gram darts is there any way to make it softer
if its brand new then most boards are hardish when new but break in when getting used, if its exceptionally hard then all you can do is sharpen your points a little more but points that are too sharp are susceptible to little burrs and bends and also stick in the wires easier.

Darts Review Channel Also, I noticed in the video you said you always get robin hoods. Have you tired whizlocks? I use them on all my darts now, and don't know if winmau have Improved them as there is hardly and gap around the whizlock hole when fitted, a common complaint before. It holds your flight in place, and stops robin hoods so you can score, so really worth trying them out.
I have not tried the Whizlocks but I have tried the shell lock and I still Robin Hooded a set lol, I think If I try some metal ones it may not be so bad, its just the way my darts angle in really :)
Honestly they are great! Although my mum managed to robin hood a flight, it doesn't stop that form happening, but that is much less common than the usual stem lol
