Just happened upon this, and it was so enjoyable to watch. I am crocheting a smaller full-body unicorn and I'm at the hair stage. LOL. This is my first amigurumi.

Good morning Valerie, I was wanting to ask you if the hot glue stays pretty secure because I’m making these horses for my granddaughter’s which is 18 months and 12 months and I’m sure they will be pretty rough with them so just curious if anything else is needed to make sure the dowel doesn’t come off? I hope everything is going good with you and you and your family have a Merry Christmas. Tammy

Valerie, I’m making this horse for my granddaughter’s one is 18 months old and the other is 12 months old both are walking but my question is, do I need to cut any off the dowel and if so how much? The dowel is 36” and with the horse it’s probably 40” tall and my granddaughter’s is 33” tall. Thanks for your help this is one of their Christmas present this year. Merry Christmas Valerie. Tammy

Hi Valerie, can you tell me what size dowel rod to buy and the PVC tee oh, I was going to go shopping tomorrow or the next day and buy supplies to make this. Thank you again for these videos I love watching them and you're toy animals are amazing and so darn cute you're so good at this. My new grand daughter will love these little stuffed animals. How did the hot glue hold up with the one you made for your daughter? My niece (whom I’ll be making this for) is 2, so I’m curious if it will hold up to a two year olds rough handling.

It's held up perfectly so far! My two year old is not exactly gentle, and the hot glue has been just fine!

How do you add the neck..You show the the hobby hourse with a PVC T but that dose not work there by it self it moves back an forth.. Explane how to make a neck

I don't know what happened. I stuffed my head until it was about to burst and now I'm to the point of putting the neck on and there is zero stuffing in the nose and it is super floppy where the T is. What can I do?!?! I stuffed the mess out of the nose too. 🤦🤦

Oh dear! Here's what I would suggest: Pull all of the stuffing out, and cut about 6" of nylon. Stuff that full of fiberfill, then put it in the nose. Take the rest of the nylon, knot the open end, and stuff it full, and place in the head. Sometimes it helps to separate the stuffing between the nose and the head in this manner, so the stuffing stays place better. I use this technique in my Penelope Pig pattern, because otherwise, the stuffing will NOT stay in the nose! I hope this helps!

Old Soul Crochet Co. thank you. I will definitely do that next time. This was is closed off already and the face is done. I didn’t have time to undo it all. What I did do was overstuff the neck a bit and see the back part twice to make a strong connection to help the head not wobble as much. I still love how it turned out and I’ve learned “things to change and do differently” for next time. .

I think you could either do a loop stitch or just long like fringe, just depends on what you're going for.

I looked everywhere for the fabric you used. I looked at hobby lobby which is here locally finally. Also at Joann’s and Walmart. I got this fuzzy bright pink stuff Well it says it’s fleece but when the employee cut it that pink fuzz went everywhere. I don’t know if I should even attempt using that. No other fleece I saw looked appropriate like yours does. 😒

Old Soul Crochet Co. thank you I don’t think I’ll have time to order it though. Her birthday is this month but that’s ok I’ll figure something out. No biggy. I do have a question though. Although I really think I already know the answer unfortunately. There’s no way to put this thing in the washer is there? She gets her toys extremely dirty at her house. 🙄

@@RameyRocks well...I'll be honest, I have washed one of my animals before. I tried to not get the fiberfill wet, and just wash the crochet part. It kind of worked, but wasn't as successful as I had hoped. And with the smaller animal I could throw it in the dryer on low, with a stick horse it will have to air dry.
