What is the difference between a 1/4 wave antenna 5/8 and can you use a full wave and which is best for receiving 860 mhz analog voice transmissions? I have a mobile whistler scanner and looking for the correct length to cut my straight antenna to length for the best reception. thank you

With NXDN, you can definitely view RIDs/UIDs. On some NEXEDGE trunked systems, you can view aliases if they're enabled for that system. On Uniden scanners, you need to either set up a NXDN One-Frequency Trunk (OFT) system or enable the 'detail' mode display on the SDS100/200 (and purchase the NXDN upgrade if the scanner doesn't have it already).

@@WXFD-Media Are you referring to the BCD160DN/BCD260DN? If so, then you're correct. Aside from the SDS's, I was referring to the BCDx36HP and 'P2' models.

Hi, unable to find a bc23a speaker. Do you know of another amplfied one that i could use in my vehicle?

Just get either a BC15 or BC20. They're not amplified, but if you're using a base mobile scanner, then they'll do just fine. I have 2 BC15's and they're pretty loud. For handhelds, I use either a Bluetooth speaker with a 3.5mm input or if your vehicle has one, then plug in into its aux jack.

It doesn't have RID UID capability. One of the major things wrong with it

I could be wrong, but I think that feature was left out since Uniden didn't pay a "royalty fee" for DMR and NXDN for the recent 'DN' models.

@@classichank60 That's just what the host keeps saying, however they still have DMR and NXDN capabilities, but it does not do "Trunking" or keeping track of TALKGROUPS or RADIO IDs. And we always PAY for the upgrades so, that can't be an excuse.

The DN models have those formats without the trunking.
