@@onthebench3606 I thought that when I purchased the 536, then shortly after getting it the control knob issue started. At this point if I so much as look at it, it goes crazy, so I’m Leary of buying uniden again.
@@onthebench3606 agreed. When it was launched you were supposed to get all 3 unlocked at $33 USD a piece. Then it was $50 now $75 as the scanner is getting older and already has a successor in the works. It’s an amazing scanner none the less. I retired my BC780XLT that has been in service nearly 24/7 I bought the first week it launched. I ended up buying an Anytone 878D as I’m a licensed Ham and needed DMR Transmit for some local NETs. So it was easier to pay that over $75 to use the scanner to monitor. That and DMR is kinda fun to operate on lol!!
Probably wont pick up much if its programmed for an area that isnt yours. I had the sds100e sold it. I preferred the trx-1e I had but that's just personal
Those who are saying its legal or was legal to listen its nwver been legal to listen to anything othwr than amateur radio cb and genrral broadcast marine shopwatch even airbamd is jot legal to listen it is also illegal to use a scanner but legal to buy one thats how its always been. Ive had scanners since early 90s while i was at school yes i listened to everything but i nevwr repeated apart from to my dad what i heard
My hospital has 2 dmr repeaters both come up on close call at site as well, bith very busy in the clear, my mate listens from north London to sites all over London and many are in the clear, only 2 enc here ones intelligence military 153 149 mhz and others glaxo site

@@onthebench3606 this is really appreciated i have dyslexia so i find it hard to understand once i been shown from your good self like a step by step guide this would be wonderful are the Uk DMR frequencies already programmed any support would be so good kindest regards paul
@@onthebench3606no they aren't some sellers put a database in but this isn't everything or even accurate totally, as no such thing, you really need to use searches that you set up yoursef and save into systems that u make up yourself
Only a few sellers add dbase for a start it means that new radio u got is already second hand as they've opened it,secondly it's only sorted amateur information, some correct some not, it's great to start with but get to learn to add stuff yourself having all that ire loaded I personally would delete it serves no purpose after a few days to play around with
We listen to, shopwatch ws, hospitals and all sorts including air and marine but it's illegal to do so, therss loads of dmr out there, less nexedge though
Rather than these made up systems by others, make your own lists up, not much In uk on digital blimey there's loads I live in a small town area and I have 45 plus I can listrn too from dmr farms, to bae factory, to shopwatch, to theatre near me, lots and lots of dmr
I have systems for local pmr and airband vhf, marine, uhf military airband, both airband are very good with a decent aerial, as are all on sds100 or sds200, I can hear weak and strong dmr or analogue on both, if I go out I leave it recording
We do it but commercial radio nets, marine and airband is illegal except in very rare circumstance that you may have authorised to do ie pilot listening yo communication he's involved in, however I pilot tunes yo airways freq to listrn I they'd be breaking the law
