This is BY FAR the best demonstration and explanation I've EVER seen on this haircut! :-) I'm so excited to go to class tomorrow and do this cut. Cutting has never come easy to me, but this gives me so much confidence. Not much longer to go before my state board. Thank you so much.
Hanna Pecharka, this video is for demonstration/training our students for the SC State Board practical Exam. Yes it is slower and this is intentional for the purpose of training. Using this technique, the haircut can be completed within 20 minutes. Thank you for your feedback.
Thank you so much for this video. I learned more from your 30 minute video than I did in my 11 months in school. It truly helped me grasp the 90 degree hair cut. I appreciate you and your lesson. Thanks again, Trish
I'm a hairdressing student in Australia. I wish my teachers were as clear as you are. They just give us a really bad video and a mannequin and say go cut. No direction or help. You have been so much more helpful than them
It’s always helpful when you have teachers/ instructors that literally takes the time and trouble to actually explain what their doing and what not to do when cutting hair at any angle. Whether their using shears and of straight razor. Thank you, it’s all so…helpful.
Great DEMO, Thanks for sharing, this helped me brush up on the stateboard 90. You all rock! Im taking the state board next week after being out of the business for 7 years. Ive been practicing everyday, its kinda like riding a bike... This Demo is great thanks a million!
Thank you!!! I gradually became discouraged and, as a result, intentionally procrastinated practicing for the state board exam. Your video has, not only, encouraged me, but also, has restored my excitement. Continue teaching. It's not in vain. (Have a peaceful, productive and prosperous year!!!) ♡♡♡
I can't THANK YOU enough for doing such a wonderful tutorial!!! I'm going to my state exzam very soon and this haircut was thought in so many ways and sometimes my instructor would never complete the cut which was very disturbing... If you were in front of me I would give you a BIG hug for easing my nerves. Thank you, thank you so very much!!!!! Have a blessed day!!!
I truly loved this tutorial it was very informative!!! It was plain, simple and to the point. I'm very grateful that you took the time to do this video. Thank you !!!
Excellent instructions! I have been doing hair for a while, but I've moved and Montana wants me to take the practical exam. These videos are lifesavers because of the confidence boost in procedures, sanitation, safety issues, etc. God Bless America! Thank you for your part in making it Grrrreat! ;)
Omg yes! This is the exact cut we have to do in Ohio with the razor in the back and all! I've been out of cosmo school since '08 and just re enrolled to another as my hrs had expired but thank god they changed the rules and my old hrs still count so I don't have to go to school over! So thankful for ppl like you and the internet b/c the cut is what I need to wrk on!
Thank you for making this video. Finally I understand how to maintain the guide for the top of the head and why there were that hairs in the sides around the face. I struggled a lot with this. Thank you!
Thank you so much for this video. I took my state board exam yesterday and this video really prepared me for the haircutting section. This is really one of the BEST videos I have watched. You explained everything so well and just reassured me I was doing everything right. Thanks again and yes I PASSED the board and received my license.
thanks so much. Just got my mannequin and followed along cutting it the way you demo-ed . Much clearer for me to understand. Feeling more prepared for my Licensing exam. Thanks.
This video has helped me understand far more than my actual teacher has, literally just showed us once and barely even helps out, I’ve already ruined two of my dolls ThankYou for this💕
I graduated from cosmetology (via High School) in 1985 with 1099 hrs. Can you tell me (1) how long does Albany keep your hours (2) I never took the state board, would I need to start from scatch regarding cosmetology school?.
Patience Faith I am in South Carolina. I suggest you contact your State Board of Cosmetology to find out the laws that affect your licensure and hours there.
Why arent you using shears if this is a state board cut, I severely doubt ppl that are taking this exam are gonna risk using a razor instead of a regular pair of shears that they've been primarily trained with
Hmm... It took you over 36 minutes to do that haircut with that sectioning technique. In Ohio they only give you 30 minutes to complete that haircut. I'm hoping this works for me because I like your technique.

cur810 i think now 2019 the state board changed style for haircut! Because my teacher teaches me : keep the hair down ( 0* degree) all the head when we do haircut. I ‘m waiting for the exam nearly. So this is my question too
