Hello everyone and welcome back! I would like to apologize greatly for the latency of the video as well as the few issues with it; some parts haven't been loading correctly even after we have edited it extensively. Due to a lack of time however we decided that it was best to leave it as it is and bring it out to the public as to avoid any more delays.
With that being said, we hope that you enjoy the video and learn something from it/find good use for it be it for reenacting or simply collecting.
Do vote on what we should cover next and don't hesitate to ask any questions as we are always glad to help in the best possible way that we can.
Thank you again for tuning in and till next time; have a good one!

Hey there! I love this video and your other ones too. I was just wondering if you'd be able to make a video or give more insight into mounting medals with the ribbons onto uniforms? I've got a few medals and want to set up a little display on a uniform but not too sure how to recreate the look. Thanks!

You are probably wanting to recreate a Medal Bar/Parade Mounted medal bar, correct? If so, that is certainly possible!

The collar tabs and shoulderboards are from "Historical Militaria". They are a bit on the pricey side but their stuff is top quality in terms of repro uniform effects!

@@gruppenfuhrer45 It does seem that they were taken down and I did look to find them elsewhere but the white ones are the most difficult ones to find. I know there are people on Aliexpress that do sell many insignia repros like that collar tabs or shouldboards. Military Harbor is also a good source for insignias as well as the jacket specifically for this uniform. Sorry about that!

Thanks for the excellent video. Although von Rundstedt has worn a uniform with the silver collar tabs, but more often that he (and other Generals) wear the collar tabs with scarlet background and a tassel motif, though I don't know what they call it.

Thank you! And yes, very true, he was also seen with the regular generals uniform, though the jacket was also of the old 27 model, simply adapted with the eagle. The symbol you are referring to on the collar tab of the German generals is called an Arabesque, if that helps in any way!

I ordered them from Ebay though you can get them off of a website called “Historical Militaria”. They are based in Italy and make very good insignia though they can be on the pricier side. You can also look to Wehrmacht.es as they occasionally have some as well

GFM shoulderboard are supposed to be full gold braid instead of gold and silver
@Moritz_S.
@Moritz_S. 3 месяца назад
The GFM Shoulderboards were gold and silver untill 1942 and then they changed it to completely Gold, this Jacket is an M27 used in pre war times so it is quite obvious that he uses the early version…

It might take quite a while till we'll get to such a tutorial but it is certainly noted! In the meantime though, should waiting not be an option for you, simply look up how to make a simple braid; in essence these shouldboards are nothing but braids with three strands for each strand of the braid

I wouldn't make them. I would buy them online. A number of different internet companies sell them. Some companies have higher quality merchandise. First I would try Hessen Antique. I've had good luck with them on shoulder boards like this but unfortunately their quality has started to go down. Thanks,

much thanks for the instructional video! one question: how would one go about sewing on a wss shoulder eagle?
@germanuniformworks3009
@germanuniformworks3009 2 года назад
When attaching the Eagle it should be 15cm from the shoulder seem, and 10cm from the sleeve seam, approximately. To attach it you can either glue it as most have done for reenacting and then see it on to make it a tad easier. The sewing method is very simple as well; simple stitches all around the Eagle

@@germanuniformworks3009 hello, I would like to know your opinion, about the time that the German soldiers dedicated to sewing their insignia, did they have to wash their tunics and remove their insignia every time they did it?
@germanuniformworks3009
@germanuniformworks3009 2 года назад
@@glujen Usually when a dress uniform was cleaned it was fry cleaned or, in the most abstract cases, washed with mild detergent and colder water. The reason of course was to not damage the uniform. The insignia was not removed if they were sewn on, medals of course were removed. Hope that helps!

@@Nyra9855 I see now! Both jackets that were so far displayed were apparently of type 1. Odd that type one also had the piping on the collar.
