Totally agree. I use my Titan Pocket during the weekdays and switch over to my Oppo X3 Pro during the weekends for more social media experience. Frees up alot of my data consumption for my weekend.
If they modified the Android to optimize it to the screen format, so that the voicetyping google menu doesn't take up half the screen, or when you input passwords and credit card numbers, maybe. Personally, I like a phone that does a little bit of everything, because I do a little bit of everything, and while I mostly get it for they keyboard I'm not gonna get a separate device to play a game on occasion. After a year with Titan Pocket it exhausted me, I was hoping it would be more like my old q10 that didn't have huge screen either but was designed for what it did.
Great discussion and observations. I wish UniHertz would have doubled down on a new Pocket Titan using all available screen space and a Demensity 700 with 5G and the 48 MP camera. I would buy that device tomorrow.
I would prefer 5g and and newer OS. Wireless charging is going to kill the batteries. Funny thing: I’m downgrading from an iPhone 13 Pro to a Titan Pocket because I’m fed up with my screen time so I need a “dumb phone”
I have both and I love both of them. Both have advantages and disadvantages. I agree that the Pocket is more like a messaging phone. The keyboard is more comfortable than on the Slim. Even the small display is somehow cool. But sometimes It's a lil bit too small. I still can't really decide between them for my daily use.
Titan Slim is like a phone trying to compromise on several fronts but just makes it suffer. I feel like if Unihertz wants to make a phone with a more traditional screen and a keyboard it would need to be a sliding phone. But that is also expensive. I am still glad they made the slim though because looking at pictures, articles and shop listings the slim got my attention for being just a phone with a keyboard in a familiar shape even though now I am more drawn to the Titan or Pocket. In my case the Slim's existence drew me into Unihertz.
I have an OG Titan for about 2years and watch daily videos and netflix , basic social media and i love it . If it gives up i will go for the slim but i hope it have another 2 year in its life
All the things you say the TItan Slim can't do well are things I have been doing for years on my 1st gen iPhone SE. The titan slim screen is even bigger than that.
As i'm getting more and more used to the slim it's getting better. Kika keyboard allows you to pretty easily cut and paste text. Remove on screen keyboard auto correct in settings. In Canada, you have to select 3G not 4G as preferred. I use open camera or camera mx for pictures. I used wps for word documents. Cx file explorer for file management. Xodo for pdf viewing. (No affiliation just trying to help people) all free apps.
agree Steve, here is what I am doing: Moto G Stylus 2022 for Daily Driver and Titan Pocket (with a Mint SIM) as my "texting" phone. I use Messages pairing feature to sync to my Moto and text from my Titan Pocket
This is a good analysis and I thank you. I would love to see something like this comparing the Titan to the Titan Pocket. While I prefer the size of the Titan Pocket, I like the ruggedness of the Titan. Hopefully the next phone will be either a ruggedized Titan Pocket or a Titan with a four inch screen so it is a little smaller in the hand.
as soon as you build a better Priv I will place an order. I want a full, competitively sized screen and glide typing for quick notes; and a slideout pkb for real messaging and email
Great job as always. What bugs me about these unihertz phones is the space bar key is so dam small. Maybe I’m being picky but it seems way too consistent with the other keys.
I've had the pocket as my main phone for a while, and just ordered a slim. I think I'm gonna prefer the slim as even if the typing is better on the pocket, sometimes that screen really gets in the way like if you're trying to Google how to do something while doing it or what have you
Eh, the keyboard is my top priority, but I still want a good media phone that just happens to have a good physical keyboard. That said, I didn't get the Slim and am kind of waiting to see what they do next before replacing my Titan Pocket.
It does run! It's not ideal but it does for sure! Just a little small and to fit everything it zooms out the field of view a bit but it is possible to play.
I've had it one day. It's for sure worse than the key2 in every way but having a new version of Android. Smaller screen, smaller keyboard, no double tap ability to move cursor and select text, weird keyboard layout, no word substitution option (that's a software issue), slower processor and it does show in everyday operations not just "gaming" which i don't do on a phone, worse screen resolution and brightness. No 3.5mm head phone jack. No SD card. BUT it's still useable and it is more fun to type on than an all glass version. It has plenty of space with 256 GB. You get a usb c to 3.5 jack adaptor. It's of course way worse than the Samsung S22 ultra (better camera, way faster processor, way bigger better screen) but it is way more fun to type on
Buying titan pocket in 2023 is wise? Or is it outdated now? I like the form factor and i don't find any other quwerty option available in the market now. Need your opinion?
I had! I haven't heard much on it for a while, but my problem with that device was always the price. Aren't they way up there? And the software support was questionable. I don't mind that on a 200-300 dollar device, but when I'm paying 900+...I want to make sure I'm getting the services that price point demands.
Not really much info in this video. You describe what we can see and repeat your point over and over again withouth showing examples. Are there differences in the camera? Is it true that more apps have problems with the Pocket form factor? Etc.
I have multiple videos on both of these phones individually. The cameras are not the reason you buy either. They are both bad. Perhaps the Slim a touch less bad. The pocket is wide enough and I have not had issues with apps. I talk about them many times in numerous videos.
@@StevealiciousTech Thanks for your quick answer. Well I read on reddit, that some had issues with the Uber app or the onscreen keyboard is overlapping too much of the app (if you need it). It would be really nice if you could try them in some store... what worries me most is the keyboard layout, where the B is below the J for example, I wonder if I can get used to that and if this will mess with my PC keyboard usage.
