The biggest problem is not what he said. Rather it's the fact that church did not empty out the moment he said that.

Or that any of the men failed to speak up and stand up for their sisters in Christ on the spot. One of the reasons this sort of speech goes on is because men tolerate it in other men since by that point those perpetuating it don’t care what women have to say.

When you’re indoctrinated with this, it’s normal. In evangelical spaces best selling books like “every man’s battle” and “for women only” teach that God created men to lust and that women need to cover up. This guy is just saying the quiet part out loud.

Another problem I have with this sermon is his nonchalant delivery.

These kinds of people lead cults, not churches.

No, public apology is not enough. He should be investigated, the church should be investigated and hr should be fired. He is not speaking for God. He is promoting rape. I ashamed for the body of Christ here on earth.

The man needs to resign, period. NOT FIT for the Lord's HOLY service!

Sickening and saddening. This is a "man" who is supposed to be teaching the ways of Jesus to his congregation. Pure evil, and so much damage done in the name of our Lord .

Unfortunately this kind of rhetoric is very common in IFB churches. This is not a one off sentiment. He just said the quiet part out loud.

Not just IFB but all evangelical spaces. As long as books like “every man’s battle” and “for women only” are best sellers, this message continues. This guy just said the quiet part out loud.

@@daneesledge1626 that’s true. It’s an underlying theme for evangelicals as well most times.

That’s just wrong. Pastor needs to resign. Pastor needs to post a video apology. People can control themselves. And are legally required to do so. You give Christians a bad name with this unbiblical statements.

Anyone calling themselves Pastor should not be listened to because Jesus commanded against such titles in Matthew 23: 8-12. Pastors refuse to obey Jesus command so it's not surprising when any of these "wolves" say and do other evil stuff.

@@encouragingword1172 The functions outlined in Ephesians 4:11 were never used as titles in the New Testament community. Instead, they represented specific roles and ministries within the church, characterized by service, leadership, and the proclamation of the gospel. The emphasis was on the function and purpose of these roles, rather than on any conferred titles of honor or distinction. No one in the NT was called Pastor "so and so" or Apostle "so and so".

@@1Whipperin I agree with your second comment. Your first one ought to be reworded for clarity. I am a pastor. I know you don't oppose me saying that, but your first comment might lead folks to think you would oppose me saying that. I would never introduce myself as "Pastor John." I understand that's what you would oppose, if I were to introduce myself that way.

No one in the New Testament was called "Pastor Peter" or "Bishop Paul" or "Evangelist Philip." You're right--Jesus corrected the use of such titles in Matt 23. But I wouldn't call those who use titles "wolves." They're simply mistaken. They are not sinning, IMHO. Unless they use their titles proudly.
