Cadet Staff Sergeant Michelle Tan leads the Union HS Infantry Guard Unarmed Regulation Platoon to first place at the Central Regional HS Drill Competition on Saturday, January 12, 2019.
I just graduated high school this year and I already miss JROTC. I was the highest ranked female My Senior year. Doing Sabre for graduations was great and all but it brought tears to my eyes when they did my graduation walk-in and walkout. I liked drill very much.
Oh wow, as a squad leader I'm aspiring to eventually be a platoon leader and seeing this made me so excited. This is so cool! The perfection and sync the cadets are showing is impressive! And the leadership of their platoon leader is admirable! The time of practice that went into this was probably a lot, it just makes it more impressive! Edit: oh and I'm a squad leader for Harmony Highschool JROTC program, this is my second year of JROTC
I did army JROTC almost 24yrs ago... Was drill team commander my senior year but my freshman year we won 1st place trophy at lenape hs with me as platoon leader (not for them; we beat them 😝) I had never been so scared but we were so sharp and crisp! I was so proud of my friends and myself. In Jersey, Camden HS and Irvington HS used to dominate but for those 4yrs I was there we was trouble... I'm so proud of these kids looking extra sharp with this. A little hesitant but you can tell that's just nerve... And mostly girls... Y'ALL BETTER GET IT! 🥰
I’m currently flight commander in afjrotc, we just started this year but I’m hoping to look similar to this at the end of the semester. I unfortunately got stuck in the flight of kids who think a little slower, but we are making progress.
Hey im a squad leader in Camdenton jrotc and this is really cool! im in drill team and was doing some research and found this! good job guys! Im only staff seargent right now but hopefully I can get up there
@@krystalquintana415 As a cadet officer we always try to make our cadets feel at home and were the rowdy ones…. Most of the time. Get to know your higher ups and they will most definitely get to know you.
*I was in JROTC in high school my sophomore year...now I’m a freshman in college and I’m just reminiscing on how much I miss it!!!! I’m considering joining ROTC in college as an elective course ! My second semester or possibly my sophomore year of college we will see* 🤍🤍💪🏽🧘🏽♀️
I just got informed that I am now the Drill Team Squadron Commander in A.F.J.R.O.T.C. for the school year of 2024-2025 and we have a Drill Cometition lined up in September and videos like this do indeed help me mentally prepare for what I as the Commander will need to prepare for this comp. ❤❤😮
Wow This is amazing ! It’s so perfect 🤩 I’m a squad leader right now and it’s my first time joining JROTC I’m a senior atm and hopefully I get to learn a lot from this and do a great job 👏🏻 like them! This is really helpful thank you 😊
In 89 the hosting school Instructor measured the field short. Every school before me marched the whole squad out of bounds. 10 pt deduction per cadet. I countered the mistake by giving two wrong commands out of order. 5 pts each. So we lost 10 pts instead of 80 or more. We took first place. So my advice is watch and learn from others mistakes.
I used to be the Battalion Commander back in 2002-03, and I am currently a Dean Of Students in a high school that is trying to get the JROTC program. Hopeful we can get it soon I reminisce doing competitions
So I'm part of dixie afjrotc and for my short time being there we have had so many great commanders on our drill teams but the difference with this is the people marching are preforming just as well as the commander good job!
Congrats man, I’m going to try and get involved in drill, marksmanship, do more color guards and honor guards, and all around be closer to the people in rotc with me.
I just started highschool as a freshman and a private and my first Sargent wants me to lead a small squad in drill as someone who has never done anything like it I hope to make him proud
Carson Stephens Not about the commander, but they are basically like mentioned by Carlos “anticipating commands”. Commands are executed after the command of execution not after the preparatory command
Actually I take it back, they do the command on the command of execution. Because it is done at the exact second the command of execution is called, it seems like they are anticipating. Whereas, I feel like that is really nice the way they do they the second the command of execution is called
Me: why is their hands so high at Parade Re-....oh wait ...this is Army JROTC😂 My friends been showing me their Air Force parade rest and I'm just suddenly so used to it i didn't think Abt how others do it
0:17 I don’t know what their regulation was like back then or if this is something entirely different, but aren’t you supposed to put your platoon at present arms when reporting in?
Watch the all-male Union HS Army JROTC drill team at: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OAn-ODWYbvQ.html They have rifles. Unlike the all-male drill team in the above-referenced link, the all-female Union HS Army JROTC drill team in the current video is unarmed. Are the young women in this JROTC program being taught the Manual of Arms like the male cadets in this JROTC program? Do the young women in this Army JROTC program have the opportunity to drill with rifles and have an armed drill team? Is there an all-male unarmed drill team in this Army JROTC program? Is there an all-female armed drill team in this Army JROTC program? Finally, are there any females in the armed Union HS Army JROTC drill team or males in the unarmed Union HS Army JROTC drill team and if so, how many?
Cloude You’re not supposed to call cadence during a drill competition. You only call the commands and the platoon needs to be able to stay on step on their own
That's really mean they are part of the army and they take their job serious and train so please don't disrespect them btw I'm thinking about joining Junior ROTC.
I was on an unarmed drill team and always got so anxious when other commanders for different teams came to watch us practice or perform. Especially the boys drill team commanders because I always thought I'd mess up. And they just stand there fucking cool as a cucumber crossed arms and eyes watching everything. Our commander usually called them in to point out any mishaps and I always thought I'd fuck up.
Outstanding! Their alignment is the best I've seen in ages! Her confidence is fantastic. I would have expected a lot of cadet commanders to get outside the cones or too shy of them. Amazing!
I’m an air cadet, and it’s so interesting to see the differences in American drill in comparison to what I’m used to! They are seriously talented, that was flawless! I aspire to sound like her when I call drill, because currently I sound like a terrified 7 year old :,)
JGhost1197 Army JROTC drills under Army Training Circular 3-21.5... there is no such thing as 30 degrees pivots..every rank takes one pivot wether it’s 90 or 45..if you read the TC, it would correct any information that has been misguided on how to march
This is almost perfect, the only thing I would say that would dock points is the platoon leader swung his arms to far back. In competitions like this that will dock points for the smallest things.
Ik so for out drill were toughy to slam the butt of our rifle on the ground and we went to an out of stage drill competition where they didn't like that and im pretty sure they docked our armed team for every time they did it.
Back then in high school averyone was together learning to do this I remember just like parades to also we all was to also averyone it's the truth sorry 😞 😔
