First time I saw images of the shoe, I loved it. Wasn't necessarily because of the look but it was because how different it was! A lot of people hated it and like you mentioned, wanted/expected another colorway of the first two Union x AJ1s. I did myself. But seeing these I love how different they are and how union chose to go a completely different way than we all expected. Would love to get these and have another wild statement piece in my collection.
I’m actually really feeling these. I like the simple color blocking and letting the diff materials and cuts stand out. Something different, yet also easy to wear given the cream, white, grayish hits mostly.
You’re right in that the Footscape is coming back later this year into next year, so this aligns with that rollout strategy. Nike already leaked some of those drops.
Air Max 90 Woven was the first time I saw a woven material placed on a sneaker and it was also my first sneaker above 200$ and this was back in 2016. So when I saw these AJ1's with almost the same woven effect(they used different materials from what I can see) I totally knew I'll need to cop them! Can't wait for August!
Seth, I watched the video and I'm wondering... I looked on GOAT's history for the pair and there were 0 pairs sold in Phily or even Pennsylvania. Where did you *really* get them?
I think theses are so amazing. This definitely an advancement with the Jordan brand. They have been doing recolors with crazy names for a long time. It’s a great sight to see something envelope pushing. These shoes are fire.

What if, the stitching was a more contrasting color to the main color blocking of the shoe? Well. . .thoughts say yes. I might play with the image in photo shop. Cool shoe!!!
Just recently got a pair of these for 140 dollars… DS too. At first I was skeptical. But these really grew on me. Such a good color way. Them yellow laces really make it pop too. I got some mint ones on the way as well 🙏🏼
When first images popped up I loved them and their uniqueness. Then I saw them more and liked them a little less. And now seeing it on foot and everything I’m back in love with them. I really might cry if they make this another women’s exclusive
This collab is such an enigma to me: I hated them when pictures first leaked, then start to dig them when better quality & on-foot shots started to surface. Now seeing them in action.... they've lost me again. Perhaps if I see them in hand they will change my mind again. Although knowing how hype works these will DEFINITELY sell out.

The color blocking is absolutely amazing... so nice I can somehow handle the for me unnecessarily complicated woven detail. So I would take them, but just for retail. If I get an L I'm fine too.
The sneaker everyone hates but will go after just cause it’s union. And those that really want a pair will have to pay resell. Treat these like the Cortez and let them sit.
jacquemus and nike did an air force 1 in solid black and white that weaves the sole to the upper in a way that's very similiar to this so definitely something theyre trying to put out there
Thanks Seth! I HATED these at first but they grew on me and I am waiting on a pair from GOAT that I paid only $235 instant ship. The quality on these is what sold me. That and the fact that they are slept on because I hate wearing what everyone else is. I like to be different and I am glad these are sleepers. JB should have quality like this on every release but sadly it’s all about pumping out cheap sneakers and appeasing resellers. These are DOPE IMO and I cant wait to get them in hand. These are such an excellent pair of shoes. I don’t get the hate. They’re unique but still a stylish and easy to match colorway. Once these are work in a little they’ll look perfect.
These are fire don’t care what anyone says. Not an avid collector have a small collection and tend to go for the more different stuff the big companies put out. That being said I will be going for these when they drop.

I imagine that the Sacai wasn't inspired by footscape, if at all loosely. It's woven but more of a baseball-style stitch. but I have heard that the footscapes were coming. I have seen posts
I've seen enough fly shit to know someone can get these off if they know what they're doing. You have to get the fit and style/theme of the fit just right, but it can be done. You kind of have to rock a Cam Newton 2023 style fit to get these off.
From all the initial hate, it seems like they will be easy to get,... but you know people are going to still go for it. I guess the new wave is to cop and cancel if price doesn't go up on Stockx after the drop. SMH

If the shoe was different clored, like a bred color and the line was same color or white. it could have been a "bone" going through the shoe, and with BRED color it could have been a reaper kinda style, i think it would rock! So i hope this shoe gets a new attempt with better coloring in the future
In my opinion the woven details remainds me of the dreadlocks hair style which I think where the inspiration came from as what you can see in the box image BBS. Nice review Seth as always! 🫶🏽

I feel like the Neutral Grey color holds back the design on these. I saw that Chicago custom someone did on these and it looked a million times better. I still wouldn't wear them though, not a fan of the footscape basket weave design.

They are FIRE ¡¡ Highest quality materials, nice design.... You will see a lot of people loving them in a close future. In fact they already sold out and people will start to feel them in hand soon --> that's the point.
wasnt a fan of these, actually trashed on the first images, but as the new images continued to come out they grew on me quickly, these are a dope sneaker. will i get em? more than likely no, but man theyre tuff
People go crazy for off white stuff which at the time was new and different. I think those Unions will def get hyped up big time later on. They will be one of those Jordan 1s that'll be $1000 in a few years. I love the wovens so I think it's great idea
didn't like it at first but i have seen other people on here throw on some turquoise and yellow lace and i was sold on it. I love the fact that the color way is so simple the color lace will definitely pop the sneaker even more. I paid resale so im excited to try them on.
Would have liked them better without the weaving but it’s something different and they were probably trying to do something different so they definitely achieved that but prob a pass for me. Cut away design or with something underneath prob would have hit harder
Yeah the on-foot looks great. I see why their dis-Liked, however I'd say I was 65/70% in like of the shoe. These joints aint bad, I like them. The leather quality and look reminds me of the Adidas Forum '84 leather.
