Yep, SP(UP1996), DRG&W(1989), MP(1982), MKT(1988), CNW(1985) & WP(1983) are all here with some horn action in Los Angeles, Burbank, Montebello, San Gabriel in California.
I'm a conductor for UP, I get a lot of shit for being a "foamer". Most railroaders are in it for the money. Not because they love trains. Most of them hate trains. But Im like you guys. Even though I work with them and see them every day, I still watch these youtube videos lol This is a great one by the way. I work in LA service unit out of Commerce, LATC, Long Beach and Colton.
Thanks for the comment. Believe me there are lot of "railfans" working on UP (and BNSF) like you do but they rarely talk about it. Thanks for watching!
Ive found its mostly an LA thing. Ive recently connected with railroaders in Washington State and they love everything about the job and the equipment.
I met a couple of conductors who got called on duty for 844 when she came through Colton/LA and they were explaining it like it was a dreadful pain in their ass and it was just another train and how they hate the engines...and I'm scratching my head lol
Great video, thank you. I see that the preponderance of locomotives are EMD or Caterpillar. Is that a West Coast thing. It seems the East coast is largely GE. I love the change. Thanks for the wonderful video. Robert
1996 is my favorite, the daylight scheme is the most complex out of the bunch in my opinion, and the white striped between colors is cool on it. 1995 is also pretty cool. The daylight in general though, 1996 or 4449, is pretty cool. And that's why my favorite colors are orange and red.
All of them are my favorite 1989, 1996 and 1995 I have caught Update I have seen 1989, 1996, 1995, 1983, and 1982. The last one I have to see is 1988. As of 2024 I've seen all 6
I really like how all of your videos start with the Amtrak on the bridge. Do you just not film until its there or is it all chance. Great video and again, Amtrak always on the bridge is awesome way to start!
I caught All the Union Pacific heritages!!!!!! Today I caught Missouri Pacific on a webcam in bialy yardIn North plate Nebraska. It was sitting with other engines.
Not complaining here, but wtf has UP done with the lines they've taken over in my neck of the woods. Whenever I return to my home town, I pick up the old MoP line running east/west from Milano on hwy 79. Seldom do I see a train on that line. When I get to Valley Junction, where MoP trains could continue east/west or y north/south, there's nothing. MoP trains used to be there all the time. The once thriving SP rail yard in my hometown is deader than a doornail. As a for instance, that last time I traveled to my hometown, I saw one UP train on the old MoP line. The train stopped at Gause, which is a few miles from Valley Junction. When I crossed the bridge over the yard in Hearne, one train and one single engine was there. Five hours later, on my return trip, the UP train stopped outside Gause was making its way into Hearne, which is some 9 niles from Gause. Conversely, the BNSF east/west line runs close to my house. That line is loaded day and night. When I travel to Houston, I see trains when I'm on Hwy 190 and then all the way south on Hwy 36 till I get to I-10. Anyone have a clue re UP?
Just a bit of video advice, when editing your videos you should use a filter called "de-interlace," it will remove the lines you get on moving objects. Otherwise, fantastic video!
my favorite heritage units from the up are Western Pacific 1983 and Southern Pacific 1996 and I've also started having a liking for the MKT or known as the Katy 1988 and the Missouri Pacific 1982 units as well (after watching the pentrex video the ultimate Beaumont hill that featured all four of them of course) I should probably start liking the c&nw 1995 and d&rgw 1989 units as well but 83 88 82 and 96 are my favorite ones out of the bunch
+Snuffy's Cat Productions that's neat as I said should probably should start having a liking for 1995 and 1989 as well (well they all look great) that's what I like about the union pacific it's for the steam program and the heritage units not saying union pacific is my favorite railroad but I've just been having a liking for them lately but those are the two reasons what I like about them
J'ai pu avoir les 3 que je préfère en Z scale, Rio Grande, Western Pacific et Missouri Pacific... j'aurais bien aussi voulu la MKT, malheureusement y en avait plus...
my favorite heritage unit is the southern pacific cause im a big southern pacific fan and the sp heritage unit number 1996 represents when the lasr year of sp cause the last year of sp is 1996
great video and good catch on all six of the heritage unites. I have only seen the Rio Grande in Bradley IL. The KATY, SP and WP look sharp. Subscribing to your channel, if you can subscribe back.
Gosh what happened to Railroading on the west coast? its so boring!!! All I see are Stack trains ! Here on Norfolk Southern there is a line I railfan that thankfully runs 35 mixed freights a day.... only 4 stack trains....
