The heat and rain noise is to be addressed through insulation. The mabati roof structure has a cavity of 50mm that allows for insulation material. These range from expanded polystyrene (EPS), rockwool, reflective foil insulation, foam mattress and many other solutions. In this case, we shall insulate with the reflective foil insulation and clad the foil with 6mm plywood that shall be painted.

Actually the second house can be made pretty with good insulation and finishes and a nice landscaping outside. I have seen a house in Michigan that resembles that house. But that foundation though sini CBD ya manyoka zinakaa huko manze. I wish they did poured concrete for the foundation.
