Jiwoo is the cutie (grunge beauty) with the deep voice with the natural auto tune sound. Her voice is so unique and amazing 🤩😍. BM is the tall stallion, he produces, writes and raps. He has his own solo albums🤩 JSeph knocks out the rap game, he does it with a strong force which always amazes me, plus he writes his own lyrics 😯🤩. Somin does a lot of the singing, she has strong volcals that leads majority of the choruses 😀. They all balance out each other so well. Very unique group in Korea.🫶🏻
Alright, so names! Jiwoo is the grungy one with the platinum blonde hair. She’s the maknae of the group and is known for her deep vocals. Somin is the other blonde with more golden undertones who has the higher pitched voice, and she’s well known for her beautiful vocal tone. She did a lot of the airy vocals in this comeback! BM (Big Matthew) is the one everyone is telling you about. He’s very well known for his out of pocket lyrics, and he’s the most socially active online! He also co-writes and creates a good chunk of their music, as well as his own! He just released a new album, Element. Jseph is the other rapper who had a lovely higher pitch during his part! He’s an excellent lyricist and rapper, and he helps craft a lot of his own raps alongside the general creation of their music. The fandom is called Hidden Kards, because each member is based off a playing card/suit. KARD is well known for changing things up and trying out new styles, although they love incorporating a Latin flair to their music. If you want to see something completely different in tone to Tell My Momma, check out Gunshot or Dumb Litty! Those are much harder songs, and Gunshot touches on elements like toxic love and heartbreak.
"I didn't know there would be hips. ' 😅😅who is going to tell him abput Icky, Cake, Boom Boom, etc? Really enjoyed the reaction. Looking forward to more KARD reactions, especially after starting with this song.
If you like "adult KPOP" you gotta check out more of Kard. Cake dance practice Icky Red Moon Bomb Bomb Lots of others. Somin is the one hitting the high notes. Jiwoo is the other girl with the deeper voice. BM is from Cali and the one you thought you heard about. J Seph is the other guy, and he did wright some of his own lyrics. BM does produce some of their tracks. But they havent dropped a bad song since they debuted in 2017.
3:06 The western probably comes from that guy that everyone talked to you about, his name is Matthew and he's from the US and didn't move to Korea till he was 19 (I think?) so that influence shows in some of their music, and he was involved in the lyrics for this one (J.Seph the other male member also wrote his verse). He also produces and this track he worked on the arrangement.
True BM is a big part of it. But KARDs fanbase really is also 98% outside of Korea. So they have oriented their music more towards what they find more interesting and what their fans would like leading to a noticeable shift of merging K-pop and western song styles. It just makes sense for their audience and the girls have been on record too saying they find experimenting with more influences in their music much more interesting.
@@DarkHarlequin true true. I am from South America myself so I really enjoy their sound a lot, even tho my country and our music is not part of the ones people usually consider to be stereotypically "latino".
Oh right. The fandom name is Hidden Kards. They have a colour & suit & card for each member. BM (Big Matthew) is King of Clubs J.Seph is Ace of Spades Soomin is black Joker, but her suit is Hearts Jiwoo is colour Joker, and her suit is Diamonds The name KARD stands for all of this together. The King, Ace, jokeR, and hidden carD. They are complete with the fandom being the secret ingredient.
@@ChainReactionsChannel You will see references to it in several videos. Like in Ring The Alarm, they have the symbols & cards for a few shots. If you see cards, you will see their personal ones.
@@Jonny-4K Probably because they don't want anyone misconstruing the concept, thinking the member who is a Queen is romantic with the King member. We Hiddens know that KARD would rather die than date each other but new fans or people who don't regularly follow them might get the wrong idea.
@@Jonny-4K They are an unconventional group. Why would they conform to expectations? I think it was explained that the girls were the wild cards. Because that's what you use jokers for in games. They can turn things into your favor if you think outside the box.
You're going to fall hard into the rabbit hole that is KARD if you liked this so much. Tell My Momma is their most "mellow" / soft title song yet imo and I do enjoy this change of pace from them. The album however is as KARD-coded as can be and there's no skips in it. If you want to listen to an 180° from them then I suggest "Dumb Litty" to see the other side in the most intense way.
@@ChainReactionsChannel Another big vote for checking out Dumb Litty, it's a huge switch up from this song, but will let you see their range. Also recommend watching the M-Countdown stage of it afterwards to see hard it goes live. love the reactions
Welcome to KARD. They are essentially the only active Co-ed group and are one of the most unique k-pop groups out there because they can play with merging & mixing male and female vocals/dances. Because they are more popular outside of Korea than in Korea they tend to do a lot more confident ´adult Kpop´ than Korea would generally vibe with. They are very cool and I think you would have a lo9t of fun with a few more of their song. Maybe Gunshot & Dumb Litty for contrast to this mellow vibe 🙂
J.Seph (guy with Korean rap) is the main rapper, always writes his raps BM (guy called Big Matthew) also soloist, writes his rap also songwriter Somin (girl with bob hair) main vocal Jiwoo (girl with "messy" hair) main vocal (with BM), also lead vocal and sub rapper
Little more detail BM (Big Matthew) full name: Kim Matthew, American-Korean J.Seph, full name: Kim Taehyung Somin, full name: Jeon Somin Jiwoo, full name: Jeon Somin Same last name between girls and between guys but they're not in the same family xD
BM is also a music producer I do prefer from his songs: Gunshot, Dumb litty (both for the group), Broken Me, Body Movin (solo) His last solo project is less my taste But to sum up his talented, and really really good and kind guy
J.Seph is the main rapper Actually I love rappers but not that many ppl in K-pop hook me really good, J.Seph and Soyeon from I-DLE are the ones who make me like rap in K-pop (also Miryo from B.E.G) Always writes his rap Goofy guy who loves foods and cooking
Somin Main vocal, BM described her vocal like a Wave, and I think it's the perfect description of her, powerful yet smooth, so pleasing to her She started with another group previous KARD She is also mentally really strong (BM praised her a lot for that, yeah BM talks a lot, but it is easier for international fans cause he's American)
Jiwoo My favourite (though I'm "biased" ot4) She has an unique husky voice, very deep (like Yuqi from I-DLE, Sami from Dreamcatcher, or Moonbyul from Mamamoo) Deep/husky but also raspy, it brings such an unique tone in their songs, all voices complete each other She has such a great artistic taste and vision I recommend watching Witch for Google Girl show (where she wrote her rap btw) Dr Bebe for Double Trouble (where she created the whole concept of the stage, the global artistic direction) Also Back Door for Double Trouble And Wet for Good Girl (Actually all her performances for these 2 shows)
I never thought I'd watch a 28 mins reaction video for a song, but here I am, you made it possible!! jajaja I loooove KARD they're yes so unique and good! They have this afro latino vibe in their songs with range, they give chill and hard and mature adult which we love to see. I really hope you can react to more of their content! love to see my bias line of four 🤣🤣
love your commentary on this, i totally agree that it felt like a more real and grounded romantic song! a lot of kard songs do that and they're not afraid of making songs that are really explicit too, which definitely makes them stand out. a lot of people have already told you about the members but i'll provide some info as well: J.seph (second rap verse) - Main rapper, lead dancer, sub vocalist. he writes his own verses and his lyricism is just chef's kiss, he uses a lot of poetic and nuanced language. his flow is also crazy, he plays around with it a lot, i highly recommend you check out their songs Cake and Been That Boy if you wanna hear some crazy flows from J.seph. he's also a pretty good vocalist (he sings in Ride On The Wind and Rumor) and has a hip-hop dance background. he helps with writing the songs as well and has written rap verses for some of the other members. he's super underrated though he's pretty much a top tier rapper. BM / Big Matthew (first rap verse) - Lead rapper, main dancer. he's known for his more explicit lyrics and bold image, as he doesn't believe in the unnecessary censorship that kpop is notorious for. he has written and produced a lot of Kard's song, Dumb Litty being the most popular of them. he's also a really fluid and versatile dancer and while he doesn't sing too much, he has a nice singing voice. Somin (starts the song with the light vocals) - Main vocalist, lead dancer. she's a pretty underrated vocalist in k-pop imo. she has a light, airy voice that she can project to sound more powerful if she wants to. she's also an amazing performer, her stage presence is really strong and she's a great dancer. Jiwoo (Grunge girl) - Lead vocalist, sub rapper, main dancer. she has a really unique, deep voice that provides an interesting contrast to Somin's higher pitched feminine voice. Jiwoo is also a decent rapper (though she doesn't write her own lyrics, as far as i know) you can check out Hola Hola, Enemy and Ride On The Wind if you want to hear her rap. she's a versatile dancer, just like BM, and also has really powerful stage presence. the fandom name is hidden kard btw but kardigans sound adorable too lmao hope you join us, we're very welcoming!
Welcome to Kard!!! Based on this video i'd say you'll really enjoy checking out their other songs (there aren't that many, since they've said it's hard to find people to write, produce and even coreograph songs for a co-ed group). Many of their songs have that vibe of sounding like a couple talking and interacting with each other, which is funny once you know they're very sibling-like in real life lmao Please do more reactions!
Ohhh.....You will love KARD. They are definitely on the mature side. They normally have a bit of a Latin flair to their songs. Or a dance vibe. And at this point, J.Seph's part has been translated. The colour choices is because of their album. Waste My Time Part 1: Yellow Light. It's so good. You should listen to it. And if you want recommendations for more KARD songs, I can suggest a few. Gunshot Bomb Bomb Dumb Litty Me In You Don't Recall Icky Ring The Alarm Red Moon
@@GolyenHighway yesss ok I thought I might've been crazy to talk so much about the coloring but glad to know it was what they intended! 😆 I'd love to check out more of them, thank you for watching and sharing all this information! ⛓️❤️⛓️
Welcome to the world of KARD...I really love these guys...Definitely worth a deep dive. I truly think they are the best CoEd group. They tend to have a latin flair to alot of their music and are very popular in South America. BM, Is the tall guy (main rapper and write alot of their stuff), the other guy is JSeph ( His flow is ridiculous). But in my opinion...the ladies steal the show with this group...My Bias Jiwoo is a vocalist and does have some raps parts and Somin is the main vocalist....In your Premiere photo of them, left to right is JSeph, Jiwoo, Somin and BM. All their title tracks are good, but you have to check out some 'Cake'....that's all i'm gonna say. Oh, also, they are really good at when there is a need for masculine choreo, they all hit it hard, and then they when they need to slow it does with some feminine energy, they all work it....it's really cool how the choreographer in the group does this...
This is one of kard's best releases in years. After their initial success, which wasn't huge by "normal" kpop standards, but very worldly and appealing to western audiences, the label basically gave bm (the one who raps first) total creative control. There's rumors he's somehow connected to the old ceo or higher ups and that's how he got his own group and leadership despite not being as experienced or polished as the others. Having a novice, who thinks the group is better than they actually are, making the decisions for them really showed in their releases and performances. Of course stans will say they're slept on, but their music and live shows pale in comparison to most other groups. This release really reminds you of kard's potential. Im wondering if the acquisition brought in some new leadership and direction for them. This is the kard that could have taken over the industry years ago when they debuted.
It took me a long time to stomp down my subconscious mind from correlating them to a Swedish group from decades ago, it wasn’t The Cardigans but now they’re mixed in too. LOL
Jseph (the guy rapping in korean) is the main rapper. Both write their own raps. But usually Jseph lyrics are more complex and poetic. He has a way of rapping against the flow that is so interesting. BM is more of going to the point in his lyrics (you can see that in his solo work). And their voices are so different Somin is the main vocal, she has a very different voice from Jiwoo. Somin is more soft, high pitched, and Jiwoo is more deep and raspy, and they eo amazing together They complement each other so good
@@skyhideaway if they would listen to their discography/b sides, they would know that he is the main rapper I adore BM, and he is a great rapper, but Jseph's lyrics and flow is unmatched
@@hiddenguard958 exactly. BM's verses are catchy but they tend to be quite simple while jseph experiments with his flow a lot more and his lyricism is just top tier.
2:00 nobody was ready for the that move given how pretty and classically the start of the song was 😂 Unfortunately KARD are pretty much the only co-ed k-pop group that has found consistent success in literal decades. This is actually pretty different to all of their music, but the maturity is always present. KARD are grown-ass adults who make adult music for adults. (No like almost all their music is either banned or has to have lyrics/choreo changed pretty significantly to be safe for TV broadcast) BM (Big Matthew) is the first very deep voiced rapper who is also the producer and composer for almost all their music, he's TOO real most the time and really stands out as giving middle fingers to the idea of keeping a clean idol image. He kinda is responsible for KARD in a similar way to what Soyeon does for GIDLE, which I really can't say for any other groups. BM is one of my favorite people on the planet, he's hilarious and ridiculously talented as a dancer, rapper, producer, songwriter, etc. and I have so much love for everyone in this group.
