there is one thing haunt me ever since 2021 when i started to learn about my ancestors history & start taking history & other books seriously, that what was in the Old the" OG" Nalanda University, the amount of knowledge was bunt that day is unforgettable for me still, I wonder how much knowledge, wisdom & experience was India lost that day.
Just bumped into this video when looking for some unique non-fiction book recommendations. The suggestions sound convincing. Like to continue to watch your channel. Hi from Colombo, Sri Lanka.
The snow leopard An immense world Insomniac city Short history of nearly everything The devil in the white city Give me my father’s body The library book
So well said on home libraries and book. Yes! I Liked it. I recommend An African in Greenland, since you mentioned that country. Tete-Michel Kpomassie's fascinating, wonderful autobiography, a NYRB Classic. Thank you for your recs. I had no idea The Library Book was about a fire in LA. I live 5 blocks from another Large CA Library. That's why I chose my residence. We are very fortunate with our interests and locations. Mine is also a block from a large bookstore. My home is full of books in every room. No TV. What coziness and intellectual stimulation within arm's reach. My birthday gift to my brother last year was the Animal behavior book you noted. He was about to buy, greatly enjoyed it. Recently I bought So Simple a Beginning, How Four Physical Principles Shape Our Living World. Nice drawings too. You might go for it.
Give Me My Fathers Body sounds horrendous!!! How cruel to take a family out of their environment just to study them and leave them in limbo! Makes me sad about the kind of things my country has done. In the name of what have they done this? I will check the books out, I love non fiction. Many sound interesting…thanks!
It was so very nice to have a wonderful video. The editing is very captivating. I am thankful. to have a copy of An Immense World by Ed Yong. upon your reccomendation. It seems like it will be a fantastic read. Keep well Avdhoot.😊
Non-fiction for me is, history, biography, psychology or any other which will provide knowledge about specific topics. Not those how to make money or some habits.
Maneaters of Kumaon by Jim Corbett is another book that fits this list. You have already recommended this in another video, and I read it on your recommendation. I was not at all disappointed. One of the best non-fiction reads I have read, and a unique one like all the books that you have recommended here. Thanks Avdhoot, for recommending Kumaon and all the books here. I'll surely pick these titles in my reading journey.
