Thank you for posting this great quality video. My grandfather used to rear bees to get honey for my grandmother as she was very ill. After he fed her with honey she became very healthy. There was one time, i was so ill and i went to see various Doctors up to 6 Doctors. And i still could not stop my coughing. I had so much antibiotics my body smelled of medicine. This went on for at least half a year. Then i came across honey from the mountains and i recovered. Because of honey. Honey was also used in the olden days to preserve mummies with aloe.
My restaurant used this honey during a wine dinner. It completely redefines what honey should taste like. I was also impressed by this process. Good job guys, keep it up :)

JuGGtimus1 Hey, yeah I did lol I ate 1/4 off it the first day I got it! the label says it weighs 340 g and it actually weighed 415 g. the taste was really good, subtly sweet and had a very different smell. It had kind of a clean, wet, hay smell, a little musty and sweet but in a good way.
JuGGtimus1 the website said it can take up to 10 days but it only took me 2 to get the honey! They're located in PA, I'm in AL, so it was really quick!
I went and visited this guy about a year ago because he only lives about an hour away to pick up some of his honey combs, it’s the best honey you’ll ever eat, and he sells it very cheap.
This is amazing. I've been watching a lot of videos, harvesting Honey and your honeycomb is by far the best I've ever seen, especially the fact that it isn't handled before it's packaged. GREAT idea! Good Luck with your business. :)
@@JuGGtimus1 I've bought it and produced the same thing. I buy the system from Herman to make my own. It's fantastic. It also depends on where you live and the kind of honey the bees will produce. It's unbelievable
From watching a taste test video I saw your honeycomb is sweeter and with a thinner wax then savanna bee, ordered a tin today and can’t wait to taste, your process is ingenious 😊
That is really cool, and would be awesome to try, if I only lived close enough. I have a question though, how do you make sure that the bees don't make brood comb in the spaces instead of honey?
I've been experimenting with the Ross comb. How would you compare the bees readiness to build in these plastic shells, as opposed to Ross's plastic frames?
This is way BETTER than the flow hive. Can you show me how its done. I mean them cassettes things. Never seen those type of serving tray. At least not in my country. Could you give details of those type of trays like producer n brand name. I'll buy them online.
Your hive boxes. Did you design them yourselves or did you buy them? If so where did you buy as I would love to buy some and do this. We need to increase our bee population a bit more over here so it would be great to do this as I live in the UK and would love to try this. That looks amazing.
So it appears that you buy the boxes in which the bees fill with hones. When you get full you just stack the 10 squares back in and the bees fill them up again.
@@worddunlap Herman also sells the it. Be sure to do his Juniper Hill Split for best results. I've bought the cassettes from him for a while because he isn't too far from me. Great guy.
Betterbee also sells the system. He has rights to produce the kit and I think it's Hermanshoneycomb.com but I'm not sure about that. Before you buy the kit, make sure you understand his hive preparation method (Juniper Hill split / Danenhower split) before you attempt. If you just put it on a double deep and hope for the best you will be disappointed. Your hive will swarm. His videos are out there and take my advice and watch them. I've met Herman a few times and he's awesome. Great guy.
@@exploringwithdragon607 I use the system. You have to set the hives up for these things to work. If you just put them on a strong hive, the hive get congested and will swarm likely not touching the comb. Watch Juniper Hill Split on youtube. Herman Danenhower demonstrates how to perform the split to prep the hive for these cassettes. He has a couple of these videos. He's been featured in the journals about comb honey. He's not far from me in southeastern Pennsylvania. It works on any comb honey system or just plain cut comb. Wish you luck this upcoming season.
Hello I started beekeeping last year and I was wondering, online i looked at cut comb sets and only saw ross rounds, i take it that ross rounds are maybe more popular than these squares, but i dont understand why, this looked so simple and pretty and very efficient. Am i missing something?
I am a new bee keeper in West Virginia I have only had my bees since May of this year that is very interesting way to have the bees make honey I have some pound squares on my bees. Great video and I am glad I found your channel I subscribed to it keep up the good work.
Richard Taylor was alive, well and aware of the Hogg Halfcomb but he was completely invested in Ross Rounds. Both he and Tom Ross tried to minimize John Hoggs invention. Of course I feel like it was their loss. Richard Taylor got me producing comb honey. I love his writings in bee culture and I have always looked up to him.
