Florence: This totally needs to be discovered in the US, such a lovely classy name!! Effie: So cute for a nickname. My husband had a great-grandma named Effie Pearl, it was short for Aphracia. Ethel: I really like the soft sound of Ethel, I'd love to see it on a little girl!! Belle: It's mind-boggling that this isn't used more here, I adore it!! I think once people see Emma Watson as Belle it will start being used more!! Ida: Very sweet, I like the Aida spelling a bit more but Aida has a more exotic feel than the more vintage feel of Ida. Maude: So lovelly, this is a favorite of Amelia's (Everything Baby Names). Della: Perfect name and a great Ella alternative, it's one I suggest a lot!! I could happilly use this name, it's gorgeous!! Viola: It has a more old-fashioned feel with the VIGH-oh-la pronunciation, but the VEE-oh-luh pronunciation is SO much prettier to me, and I like that it's associated with tthe instrument with that pronunciation. Opal: Darling name and a great Ruby alternative!! I love Opalline as well. Lavinia: Gorgeous!! Harriet: SO underrated and wonderful!! We have Harriet Xenia in our top name combinations for girls with the nickname Hetty. Sybil: I could see hipster parents loving this!!

My boyfriend and I couldn't agree on a name for our daughter. I swear every name I suggested he turned down. I started to watch baby name videos on RU-vid. I was obsessed. The one thing we both wanted was a unique name for her. I finally searched old fashion names on RU-vid and found this video. I fell in love with the name Sybil. And my boyfriend loved it too. We ended up changing the spelling to Sibyl.

Here's one for you. My granddaughter is named Adeline Elizabeth. : ) I call her Addy Beth. I LOVE it!!!!! She is so beautiful and this name fits her perfectly!

My name in French class is Florence, I chose it after one of my favorite bands Florence and the Machine. I also really liked it and would love to see it come back. P.S this list really helped with naming my book characters.

I found the name Lavinia when I was 16 on a ghost hunting show of all places lol but now I’m 25 having my first little girl and I’m still so in love with the name so it’s her name! Her name is lavinia Marvella and I LOVE it! There’s also a Shakespeare quote about her name and it ends with she is lavinia, therefore must be loved. And it just makes me love her name even more! She’ll be here in about eight weeks now 🥰 but thank you for adding her name to your list! Her name is so under appreciated in my opinion!

Viola and Hattie are both family names for me!! I also love the name Marjorie (it's also a rare vintage name) and a family name for me as well and you could use the nickname Jorie which I think is super cute!! Marjorie also derives from Margaret/Margery and has the same meaning: Pearl. I also really love the name Winifred with the nickname Winni or the name Penny with the nickname Pen. Maude reminds me of the 70's show Maude, but I think the color Mauve would also be a cute alternative if you want a more modern day name!! And of course I've always loved the name Belle as she's my favorite Disney princess and Beauty and the Beast is my favorite Disney movie of all time. Abigail and Ingrid are also some of my favorites, but I love the name Abbey or Abby which is super cute!!

Sybil is a hard one because it's associated with the movie about a girl with multiple personalities and it could get quite scary.

When I have a daughter I'm going to call her Libertad Augusta (I'm from a Spanish speaking country) Libertad is literally translated to "freedom" and Augusta means majestic, admirable. Btw Libertad is for Libertad Lamarque. What I wanted to say with this is that I don't want to call my daughter that means beauty or some type of flower, but something that it's actually important for life.
