I have a ticket here for The Festival of Sound but I can't make it as one of my dogs is really ill. Would have been good to bump in to you today. Have a great time.
look great im consedering the small brother but in black color because 2 reasons i think the white is to delicate and the volume and selector whell woud get yellowish or darker with use and second to match my other gear,
Hi Terry, I know you use your AVR850 for home cinema. Is there a way this amp could be used for the main two channels for every input and the AVR850 powers all the other speakers? I am not sure how you use your Luxman and Arcam amps together either. Thanks, Jim
That's what the home cinema bypass is for. This amp powers L and R the av receiver powers all the others you can then use a separate dac for the L&R speakers as well
Terry, do I get it right, you miss the amp? So you do like the amp more than the Luxman? From what I could hear via Ytube, I preferred the sound signature of the Unico 150 over the Lux. BTW, I have received my USB Reference cable from Marcin, top notch!!
don't forget you are hearing the benefits of the Dave and the better Tellurium Q cabling and better mains conditioning in the videos for the Unico. I did like the Unico it's a very musical amp with a lovely sonic balance. Got me very interested to try more tube products out
So, what's your preference Terry, the Luxman 505 or the Unico 150? I'm trying to set up a demo between a Unico 90 and a 505 as they're matched on price. Be interesting to hear your thoughts after many hours spent with the two.
@@tsteviejames I think you will find they are quite different in presentation one being more laid back and lush sounding the other with more energy and drive but not as sweet and smooth. I haven't listened to the Unico 90 it might be a little different as it's slightly different in design. It has one less stage in the circuit I think compared to the Unico 150. I think they are two great products to demo because they are different and each has their own strengths. Another alternative to listen to might be the new Marantz KI Ruby as that's different again being a switching amp but one that doesn't sound like a typical switching amp. Had a good demo of one yesterday. Just an idea for you. Please come back and let me know how you got on ??
next is the change of speakers to B&W 603 and then a smaller more affordable integrated amp from Leema Acoustics. Have a big show to cover from tomorrow all over the weekend so will be a little delay on the next reviews
The design of the remote control is terrible. Far too thick, too many buttons which are too small & aren’t back lit, the faux wood finish is simply gaudy looking.
