@@leamonroy6504 no you subtract from the number in the level. so for example, you're trying to figure out how much energy you lost going from producer to primary consumer. you would subtract 100-10. 100 because that's how much energy is in the producer level and 10 because 10 is how much energy is in the primary consumer. 100-10=90 which represents the amount of energy lost when you went to that level. Another example is if you were doing producer to tertiary consumer. You subtract 100-0.1 because 0.1 is how much energy is in that level. 99.9 represents how much energy was lost when you went from producer to tertiary consumer
