I flew United from EWR-ORD-HND and then from HND to EWR back and let me tell you, those premium plus seats are awesome!!!!!! I loved the experience and the food :) I can't wait to fly back to Tokyo again.... Thanks for the video.
On one of my United Airlines flights to Cancun, I was in business and it was an earlier flight so they were serving breakfast, and tbh the waffles I got were super good for airplane food, they were crispy, with a caramel looking sauce and a strawberry jam. Also came with a croissant and fruit.
I'm flying to Tokyo, next March, with my adult son, and his Japanese wife, from LA. They are talking Polaris Business class, but I'd be happy with Premium Plus. If I remember correctly, a domestic economy plus seat is 18" wide, and domestic First is 20" wide.
Always great to have another quality trip report from you Alvin, regardless of how frequently you are able to do them. I was keen to see what United offered in their Premium Plus cabin, and now I know! Like you, I think the hard product is good, but beyond that it was decent enough but not a memorable experience I felt. Best of luck with the new condo!
I'm also flying SFO-TYO on United Airlines Premium Economy soon! Thanks for this video! It helped me picture what my in-flight experience will look like :)
This was an excellent video! I'm traveling to Japan from Denver, and this will be my first flight on the new 787. Good to know what to expect ahead of time
Thanks for this video- wanted to confirm that your seat reclined fully (to the max of other PE seats). I'm likely taking the same seat on a 15 hour flight!
Excellent report and video. Always enjoy to watch your videos. Suprise me that you took United to Japan It should be much better with ANA or JAL. 😜 Enjoy your time in Japan and Asia. Please take and upload more video. Keep it up!! 👍👍💪💪🥰🥰
Thank you for a nice video! I was particularly interested in raw 22 of the premium plus since it was not quite clear if those seats could recline, as they appeared too close to the separation wall. After your video I have to upgrade to premium plus, so you owe me $375 😀
Thanks for posting this, it's just what I was looking for. Was the recline in the back row where you were the same as the other seats, or were you restricted?
I noticed you chose the very last seats in economy premium. Does it lean back as far as the others or does that wall restrict how far the chair goes back compared to the others? Like the content and background music. Just subbed.
👍👍Another excellent video, Alvin. IMHO, the only decidedly non-premium aspect of this product is the lack of at least one dedicated toilet. The snob in dislikes having to schlep it down the aisle to the Y class loos. 😁 I've been on a few airlines that have either dedicated toilets or ones that are shared with J (CI, NZ, CX). I 'm surprised that even SQ (except in their A359 ULR), NH and JL don't have dedicated ones for premium in the bulk of their aircraft that have premium cabins.
Looks very clean / comfortable !! I loved Virgin Atlantic one last summer !! I highly recommend it to everyone !! I have back issue ,but it didn't hurt my back at all !! Neither their De Light seat !! I am thinking of visiting Argentina soon in the near future with my mom & taking United ,most likely premium economy plus ! I used to hate United back in the 80's / 90's !! Hoping they can refresh the impression !! A very good video, btw.!! 👍👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎶✈️💞
What I find really interesting about the updated United cabins is that Economy Plus seats on 2 cabin aircraft are the same color as the Premium Plus seats on 3 cabin aircraft. Wonder if it’s to make the 2 cabin aircraft appear like they have 3? Who knows, but I like the new branding direction
Even when the United Airlines Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft is parked at the gate with 2 jetbridges, the gate SHOULD use BOTH jetbridges for passenger loading and unloading to ease the passenger traffic for both boarding and deplaning processes.
Hey Alvin, I´ve been following your content for some time and is the best, as of now i have an small Instagram account where I post some photos i take of airplanes, but I want to start blogging as well my trips, I will travel from Bogotá to Santiago in 2 months, any advises on how to start, not necessarily equipment or editing skills but where to start, thanks for all the content you bring us
I would say just have fun with it and film as much as you can throughout your travels! That is how I started - I just wanted to capture and document the trip for myself to remember many years later. Once you are home you can piece your clips together and form some kind of story to tell the audience.
My friend is flying from San Francisco to Narita then getting on another airlines in Narita no checked bags just herself she have to go through customs or TSA or just go right to she is flying on American airlines then getting on A&A airlines
As a United 1K...Premium Plus to me is great for a flight that is no more then 6 hrs long, and absolutely better then economy!...anything more then that I have to fly Polaris. I average (16) international flights a year, its all about comfort and sleep! I don't worry about the meals, and/or the entertainment, I have my (2) glasses of wine and its lights out. Great job of pointing out Premium Plus, as it is a step up in comfort, but its not Polaris! 👊respect👊
I think if UA can't provide a Western meal that doesn't look like slop, they sure can't master serving Japanese cuisine. The dinner looked very unappetizing but I admit the breakfast looked better. #UNITED
Good video, but why are you wearing the mask? You don’t have to do that anymore. There was no reason for them in the first place. United’s premium economy looks way better than what Delta is trying to pass off as premium select.
