This brought tears to my eyes. You want everyone to receive your child with kindness. My baby has autism and will be 4 next week. We have a trip coming up and it will be my son's first time flying. Fingers crossed.

How did it go? I remember the anxiety we had for our autistic sons first flight.

For once, a story where the press gives United the credit they deserve, after multiple stories where the press bashed United for things that weren't their fault

American airlines would be like: Get that boy off the plane

American would have probably been benevolent to the boy if he didn't kick seats or had an outburst that made him violent to people the seats. And yes, american would call police or send alien monsters to suck him into like United sucked david off if he did what he did here.

I am very worried about flying with my son. He(7 years) has autism. Next week I will be flying in saudi arabia airlines from Milan to Bangladesh with a newborn👶 also. Hoping everything's gonna be ok

I read that he was kicking seats and other people’s feet and screaming for much of the flight. His condition is unfortunate but he and his family were given special treatment at the expense of others. The flight sounds like an absolute nightmare.

You do realize he has special needs? Therefore he needs accomodations (or special treatment as you call it). You do realize how selfish and apathetic you sound compared to how the people who were actually on the plane reacted? You need somethung called compassion. Also, I don't think you fully understand what Autism is. It is debilitating. It's the kid and family that needs compassion, not the other passengers. Accomodation for special needs/disabilities =/= special treatment as you mean it.

Woooow you will never understand the constant panic and stress of a parent when it comes to doing anything public with an autistic child. It’s absolutely sickening that people have the nerve to say stuff like this without understanding that he isn’t like other kids. It’s not the parents fault.
@macvirgiliopagaduan5342

Its sickening to read this kind of comment. Autism is not easy to handle and can you imagine the pressure and stress the parents feel dealing with the episode? You don’t know because you do not do a research before making a bad comment like this. Compassion, understanding and patience for this family not a mockery or insensitivity. No matter how prepared parents are, there are tons of triggers inside the plane for tantrums.

 @Ihdc1 Guess this commenter does not know the word equity. We can't be equal but we have to make things a fair. Neuortypical people will never ever get the understanding of those with disablites because their is no education about disablites until College if you want to major in education or health. That's all . It is usualy the older people because the younger generations have special needs students in their classes (bit off topic) . The older people who are ableslist because I know it from my own experience. My mom does not know how Executive dysfunction work. My Grammy think disablities is low-self-esteem only. My brother thinks that autism is the only disablitiy. I do not have Autism but I am special needs . I don't need any acconmadations on any public transportation but that is why their is preboard is an accomadtion for those with disablites, and elderly neurotypical people who can't walk.

Bad idea if the plane was on the taxiway and was waiting to take-off. San Diego only has one taxiway, they could have held up other traffic.

Wow! With all these rude comments thank God yall werent on that plane. That boy wouldn't of had a chance. This just shows how some people are just down right hateful! Put all the hate away and try being a caring loving person. And for the person saying if the family was black they wouldn't of got the same treatment. How would you know? Have you been in that position? I think not! Im sure you say that about everything. Thats another thing wrong with the world today! How about showing some compassion. Spread love not all this hate and negativity!

The parents should not fly an out of control kid out of respect of 100s of other human beings confined in that possible airborne coffin. Have the grandparents come visit or drive. Petition airlines for special needs airplanes where they can scream, run, kick seats and do what they want. BAD BAD parents!

@@adam3d851 do you really believe what you are saying? God forbid this special needs child bothers you. Atleast there was alot of passengers on there that didnt mind and actually played with him. Thats called being a caring person.

@@aliciasherbert3378 Flying by itself is not a pleasant experience, and having a kid screaming because he had a condition only adds to the agony and stress level of others around him. Some people with medical or psychological issues should not be allowed to fly for the safety of others. Thank god he didn't have a fit because he wasn't allowed to play with the buttons in the cockpit. Parents who are not selfish should be aware of this and drive instead, get a babysitter or have other relatives come visit.

I feel sorry for the kid and family. Autism is a horrible disease that depletes energy and resources of the family and the community. Meanwhile in India and other 3rd world countries, one slap to the head straightens autism in a minute (it's bad, it's abuse but true fact)

@@koen6468 It makes me feel so calm when I get a massage but I don't throw a tantrum to get one and create a dangerous situation for myself and everyone else around me. Even the lioness whacks the cubs to protect them from harm. The lack of discipline made some of today's kids go out of control.

@@adam3d851 I don’t think you understand autism and that’s not an attack. It’s already hard with a child without autism but one that is autistic doesn’t really understand what’s going on. They just know that something is off or out of the norm and they just need comfort.
