The Polaris seats are really nice, I love those Saks pillows. I wish they'd sell them. Now the food......that lunch or dinner out of EWR was really what economy meals used to be. That's not even close to a BusinessFirst meal. Where was the appetizer.....maybe shrimp cocktail, smoked salmon etc. I flew B.F. quite a few years ago IAH to LHR and the food was much better than this but not up to international carrier standards. The breakfast was okay but there should have been a nice cheese omelet, sausage, hash browns, biscuits. I had a better breakfast in economy on LH a couple of years ago IAH-FRA. I am finally deciding UA cannot compete with international carrier and same with DL and AA. I'll end this before I keep going. But I say all this respectfully not director at any of the crews but the airline and big guys that make the decisions on feeding their customers sub-standard meals.....but if they play symphony music for us, that will somehow make up for the lack of great food.
United always does a good job. I appreciate their global network, excellent seat/bedding and the best IFE in the air. Polaris is exceptionally good, especially the Polaris Lounges. Covid mode is over and all the perks are back, including the snack bar open through the flight and desert cart with the Sundaes served in the globe bowl.
9:15. Unacceptable the way dinner is presented. I am former (retired) Continental, and this is WELL below standard. United management needs to hear this loud and clear.
A few years ago not long after united and continental merged, you could still feel flights out of Newark were operating on a higher standard in terms of in flight service than those from other United hubs. This "leftover" unfortunately quickly dissipated in a couple years.
you didn't go to the Polaris lounge at EWR? ANA is far superior than United in just about every single regard, the Polaris lounge at EWR being the only possible reason why anyone would fly United over ANA. Not going to the Polaris lounge to me is a huge miss, otherwise The Room on ANA departing JFK is a far superior product in my opinion.
I did but didn't film the lounge very well so I didn't post it. Agree that "The Room" is better than Polaris. I have a video on ANA's flight HND to JFK.
Just flew Polaris back from TLV-EWR. Service was irregular and food sub par. I had pd for 7 passengers at a cost of 25k. Definitely a disappointment. Crew were first timers on this route…you could tell.
