I've got a picture of Shane's beautiful b/s Ollie at 5:30...old pic from an issue of The Skateboard Mag photo issue. I just recently brought it out of storage so I can go get it blown up into a poster, was thinking today too "man what a shame there was never any footy of this"...well god damn I just found the footy of it! RIP SHANE
Globe was the shit, I hate seeing all these core skate companies going under. Nike Sb, Adidas and NB just digging their grubby hands onto everyone nowadays
I don't get why being able to ride switch and nollie is such a big thing. The only reason I can think of for doing tricks in switch is it shows that you're a technically proficient skater. But artistically, it doesn't really bring anything to the table. It's kind of like a guitarist switching to left handed just to display his technical expertise. A good skater is like Chris Haslam who focuses on being creative instead of doing nollie lazerflips.
if you can't skate switch, you're bounded by your normal stance. What will you do when you 180? ...well all you can do is skate fakie until you turn back around. And one thing about skating, is it hates boundaries. So don't be bounded by your normal stance. Learn to skate switch.
I agree, though it can be helpful. I just want to be able to front/backside 180 from switch to get back to my stance. I think it's ONLY important if you're a pro skating in comp as it gets you extra points. Other than that, yeh it's not really important imo
To all skate companies - fire the fuckwit editors who decide to use Slayer intros and then kill the momentum of the video by not finishing the song. You might think it's stylish, but it's irritating.
Just skate man. quit sharing youre weirdness. I know Haslam is calling it creativity but it's not creative like Dill or Gonz or whatevs.....Haslam isn't welcome in my 90's,early 2000's anymore.. ;D
