I found out about United Masters the same exact way, l liked the ideas that Steve Stoute was talking about. I currently use DistroKid and have for almost two years, United Masters seems interesting and definitely more artist-oriented, plus the interface looks a lot less utilitarian than DistroKid does, but I'll have to do some more research if I want to make a switch because DistroKid is pretty nice. Thanks for sharing this info!

Black-owned as in Black executives in position to make decisions OR Black-owned as in black face over marketing and promotion but no one black (not to be confused with people of color or 1st/2nd generation immigrants) in decision making ie exe positions? The opening of this video threw me off a little. LOL Let me keep watching...
Hey I loved this comment, choosing the right distribution service is something I’ve been thinking about a lot. I’m doing some research on how musicians weight the pros and cons of services tailored to help them. I’d love to buy you some lunch over a phone call to talk more about this!
Great video bro. Notes the audio for the vox is panned far left and its weird lol. I think it was recorded in mono or something while the instrumental is in stereo. Throw the talking in stereo and pan central. I had to take off my right esr bud because its kinda awkward. But, I don’t believe in criticism without positivity as well. So super informational and basically covered everything we would be looking for without the super analytical stuff that is just fluff

I've only released 1 track through DK. I plan on not releasing anymore through them because of the annual add-ons. Also, another gripe is that they don't get you in all stores without paying extra (which adds up to your already annual subscription and other perks). One of those stores that I noticed that they don't really get you in on a basic level is Napster. I'm sticking to CD Baby, because United Masters tend to steal the exact latter monicker they go by.
@@yochillsmith Ahhh, got ya. I started with DK. TuneCore is cool, but they charge annually. I also believe if you somehow fail to pay they will drop your music off of all platforms. The one thing I like with DK though is that they have the Legacy option. As far as CD Baby? I'm more hip to the one-time payment method they have going on for themselves. Either way, we're doing what we love 🔥
I like CDbaby they upload your music once you send it over they check it to see if it's properly produced and recorded then they upload it I like them yea you gotta pay them but at least you know they handling your music properly that's important to me and I get my checks it's nor much but I do music not to live off of I do it for the love of making it inspiration so that's the difference...im ok with CD baby plus all my music Is uploaded to all the internet spots to be distributed pandora spotify as many as you want or all of them once you send over your music you put in where you want it to be uploaded by or sold your still in control they just give you the choices where you want it be on ...
@@yochillsmith try orfium for content id. It works under 2 hours. If u click on orfium maximum monetization and upload your song there it registers to content id. Then after two hours u upload to RU-vid and it works
no follow up video... interested in the submission to playlists etc in the interface, and marketing tools (videos for IG, TokTol etc?) anytthing extra to promote?
If I had the rack I’d probably go with cd baby but I’m fosho not about to start giving my art away just to get it on a dsp - and distrokid works fine for now
Id rather pay 15 mor an put my music into business just saying , u guys using distrokid is the way to go u connect your music to your channel and evertime u upload u can upload to all your social media bam its on spotify , amazon , tiktok, youtube, Apple Music, intagram-facebook, snapchat u litterly dont need mor to get your music heard and go outside and sing for the public and make some money
Remember U dont need to be famous, just make some money and live the way u want it to be, god sent u u can do what ever u want good or bad thats why u have a choice
No, United masters has the same amount of stores as distrokid except distrokid has a feature where every new music service or website used for streaming they’ll include your posted songs to those platforms which is why most prefer Distrokid because it appears that your name is buzzing but in reality those third party sites aren’t American nor they play your video/song. Those “added to new stores” notifications are simply backlinks to your video which may be restricted content in some countries via RU-vid

About Distrokid. If you do something wrong because you don't know it and get rejected by the stores they give you a general warning and then kick you out without be specific why this happening, they don't guide you and they don't trying to fix the problem! They beggan well and now is the worst..
They have completely rejected my release for Apple Music and will not allow me to rectify or resubmit, which is super wack and they have ABSOLUTELY NO HUMAN on tech support I am switching service because they are just losing quality
