How can a patient survive in this heat and lack of water etc. But if we keep referring to past leaders because this issue didn't start ur term then we don't need a leader. Boat,why are you allowing others using big brains to chop to deceive you. The facts of the matter is that our current government inherited the worst economy since the 1980s. John Mahama sent Ghana to IMF because the structures and foundation in our economy collapsed. Not only had our numerous high interest debts to other nations(including Nigeria)defaulted but internal debt to contractors and other government obligations were also in high default. Some Civil Servants and Pensioners salaries had not been paid for 3 years plus and ALL the deductions made from existing salaries meant for pension accounts vanished. Over priced multi-billion dollar projects such as the Dubai interchange and Sagleme housing complexes were never completed yet the funds had vanished. Our industries including Agric and manufacturing collapsed to a point when Ghana imported common onion and plantain from Burkina and Ivory Coast. The economy shrank 22% during this time. Most of our trading and development partners left Ghana. Armed robbery,kidnapping and galamsey became actual job options for our youth and graduates. My friend Ghana has never been closer to anarchy than this period under NDC. Now let us look at some of the main things that has happened since President Akufo Addo took over. First and most importantly the Akufo Addo's government managed to rescue the downward spiraling economy. The economy has recovered enough to be taken out of IMF. Many of our external debts have been renegotiated for better accommodations. Loans at much reduced interests have been taken to pay off Mahama era loans with exorbitant interests. Domestic debts are mostly paid off(93%last check). Backlogged unpaid wages and stipends owed to Civil Sevant and Pensioners to the tune of 7billion cedis have ALL been paid in full. Major rescue initiatives in Agric,education,manufacturing,transportation, Rail, communications,banking,internal security etc were all successfully launched while stablizing the runaway inflation at the same time. At the height of the covid pandemic Ghana was the only country in West,East,and Central Africa which didn't implement some form of food ration or didn't suffer food shortages. Ghana was also one of the few countries in the whole world where citizens were given free food during the lock down. Ghana was the only country that gave free water and electricity to citizens! Not a government in South Africa,Ivory Coast, Kenya,Nigeria,Egypt,Uk,Italy,France,Germany or Russia gave out free food,free electrity,electrify, free water to their citizens. In the last three years the Akufo Addo's government has done more than three times the length of roads and number of bridges done under NDC's decades rule. So, are things still difficult in Ghana after all these positive programs? Of course things are difficult but it is not due to mismanagement or looting by the current government as A-Plus will have you believe. Things are difficult across the world because the Covid-19 pandemic has grounded the world's economy into a screeching halt. Ghana's growth rate during this pandemic is at an enviable 1.5 to 2% compared to the negative growth rate suffered by countries around us and around the world. How do we recover completely? By hard work. First and foremost we must participate in the vaccination in order to achieve the protection of herd immunity. With healthy citizens unafraid of getting infected we can resume our economy at full blast. We have all heard about what is wrong with Ghana from certain people. Kwame A Plus and Ben Moshe have made it their careers to go around telling people what is wrong with Ghana,my question to them is this,what have they contributed to make things right? Any fool can point out mistakes but it takes the wise patriot to craft out solutions to a country's problems. They like to raise Ghanaians expectations unrealistically by comparing our circumstances to that of America. If JFK was a Ghanaian his quote would have been "ask not what Ghana can do for you, Ben Moshe & Kwame A -Plus,ask what you can do for Ghana."

You are right in many ways, but if you love your country enough, you don't need a title or to be on top to do what is right. I live abroad and we have a cleaning company and its not for the government. We are making money by creating jobs and also keeping the country clean.

The law must also work for the people to change their attitudes. In Ghana people get drunk and drive and the police don't care when they stop them. Same Ghanaians travel abroad and bcuz the law works, they are scared to get drunk and drive. DWI on your record will change you. People should face the consequence when they break the laws in Ghana.

You have said it all. I agree with you 200%. Charley, I live abroad. I pay council tax every year apart from taxes on commodities, road taxes etc.... In Ghana, some small business owners get away with paying taxes. Hawkers are making money from selling on pavements and not contributing to the fixing of them. Which money do they want Ghana to use in fixing these pavements they make money on. I can go on and on.
It is really funny to blame the individual. The individual can never be blamed in the development of every nation. If our leaders a have proper economic policies in place to make sure taxpayers pay the right taxes. Don’t forget the implementation and effective laws regulate it citizens. Masa here in Europe there is increase of fuel wai even with covid....Ghanaians must fix our attitude even if we take all Ghanaians abroad to live there and bring all whites to Africa we will still spoil there and the whites will develop Africa.
