I hope so. No way this roster beats Spain, France, England, or even Germany. That defense we saw in this game will get SHREDDED. Even Naher won;t be able to save it. Smith is best off the bench against tired legs.
This is the WORST video coverage. You overlay the WBH logo right in the midle of the screen, so the audience can't see the ball movement on the critical plays! And then your ads for more videos cover the final, exciting, winning PK... you lose WBH, with trash video. You're first to have it posted but you're last in quality. I want to support womens' football always... but never again with your videos.
Canada, as usual, we play to hope to win on penalties.. there is a lack of real scorers... Why is Huitema still there, no attackers in Canada? she doesn't have the level. A. Leon, V. Gilles, 👍👍
Jade Rose, Gilles, Bucanan, Lorence, Flamming and Grosso and that is. I don't see anyone else. a) Becky scores a goal every 3 or 5 years. b) Huitema, I saw her all through her teen year, never became that player we expected she could be. ...Listen, I don't have anything against these girls (they are nice people, I guess), Just a women soccer fan pointing out the obvious.
Where is Lavelle? And coach can you stop putting Morgan in. She does nothing up top to create opportunities. The minute you took her out things changed.
The funniest thing......Canada knew that if they execute a penalty, Naeher is unbeatable to her right, but average on her left....so what Canada does????Just like in the Gold Cup....Canada shuts the ball to Naeher's right 3 times.....and Naeher saves all 3 times.....now how dumb is that?😋😁
All subjective. The scoreboard is the only thing that matters and even that is not indicative of which team is truly better. Just win and advance regardless.
@@eastvandb If you tackle a player from behind, contact the foot and the player goes down it is a penalty every time. The US player got no part of the ball but did get the foot. Referee has no option but to give a penalty. US commentators were too parochial rather than impartial and applying the rules of the game. I agree it was harsh but based on the replays no other decision could be given.
Any soccer player who cannot or does not shoot on goal should be fined. Either shoot it on goal or get out of the game. No excuse.I can't believe the goalie came that far out to defend. Bad goal tending. Try to tackle her and knock her out of the game and allow a goal? Incredible goal by Sophia Smith. Now that's how to play soccer! Leon takes a dive to the get the penalty kick. Get rid of this ref.
Watch Spain-USA in the 2019 wc then. There were 2 "lamer" penalties awarded to the US in that match. I also recall a couple of generous penalties in the Gold Cup a few weeks ago. You are just not used to things not being given away easily in favor of the USWNT. Besides, your team won the trophy
From the UK here so unbiased. I've watched it 3 or 4 times on the slowest playback speed. The Canadian girl was leaning in on the American, there was no contact with the foot, she more or less lost balance. Poor decision.
US keeper is very good to her right and any decent team would have known this. Where did she save penalties? Those kicked to her right. How many kicked to her left did she save = ZERO. Why would you kick to her right and along the ground which slows the ball down and gives her more chance to save or way too close to keeper when that one was in the air that she saved on her right. Poor coaching by the Canadian coach as she should have instructed penalty takers to shoot to keepers left.
Leon's flopping was gross. I lost all the respect I had for her. That's the kind of lame crap you expect from the men's game. Very tacky and indicative of a low class player. Foul and dirty.
Ex-Hammer she maybe but Adriana Leon was crap at Westham, she only started to show up for club and country when she join Villa. Both her and Kensa Dali really started to show their true form only after they left Westham and the joined Villa. This is proven by the fact that Neither of them were regular starters for their National teams until after they signed for Villa. And now that I'm thinking about it, Rachal Daly also played for Westham but only became a scoring machine when she Joined Villa. Strange that don't you think?..
I’m pretty sure they’ve moved on from the ALBERT/RAPINOE situation already. If this would’ve happened during the Vlatko era or something like that then they would’ve made a bigger deal out of it imo
The first goal was definitely on Dunn...she was ball watching and not marking. The second goal was die to a very very soft penalty. If VAR it would not have been a penalty.
@JohnTell-nl5vv She will probably make the Olympic roster as a backup defender. She shouldn't start the main highly important games. Just my opinion. She lacks consistency andespecially focus at times, which definitely showed up on the first goal that Canada scored.
1. It’s Julie Foudy. 2. She isn’t blind. 3. Leon was wanted the penalty kick. So she played it soft. 4. Dunn Just tapped her and she kinda flopped. 5. Leon was soft with it.
Somebody tell that female anouncer with the biased accent to stop talking about the trip. When you tag the foot of the opponent from behind without touching the ball it has to be called. You can clearly see the US foot touch the toe of the Canadian creating the tumble.
That first goal was due to Dunn falling asleep on the backline. She lost player and didn't make up ground. Then she didn't even fall back to mark the eventual nearby assist player. She just was ball watching that whole play without marking.
